What is Tree Tap?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide

Tree Tap is part of the mod list in this pack. This version of the pack ships Tree Tap 1.21.1-0.4.2, and it has been in the pack since version 2.11 or earlier.[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm from the available sources what Tree Tap adds, how its mechanics work, or who it suits best. The pack's files show no in-pack recipes, config values or quests for it, and no guidebook was found inside the mod. I haven't described any gameplay here to avoid guessing.

Unverified No ATM Star path or quest involvement for Tree Tap was found, so where it fits in the pack's progression is unconfirmed. Check the mod in-game, for example in the recipe viewer, before building a plan around it. This site does hold All the Mons's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you get started with Tree Tap?

3 parts

Good news: getting started with Tree Tap is simple, because the first thing you need is the Tap. It's the item the mod is built around, and it's where you begin.[2][3]

Step 1: Craft a Tap

The Tap is a shaped crafting recipe that comes from the mod itself, and the pack doesn't change it. It takes any copper ingot, so anything in the copper ingots tag works. Here is the exact recipe as it works in the pack:[2]

TapMod recipe

Crafting Shaped

5 × any copper ingot

Recipe id: treetap:tap

Any copper ingot from the copper ingots tag works in this recipe.

Copper is an early-game metal, so you can make your first Tap very early. That's the reason to craft it first: nothing else in the mod's recipe list for this pack needs to come before it.[2]

Step 2: Check the speed modifier

The Tap shows a line in its tooltip called "Speed modifier". Take a look at it after you craft your Tap, because that value is the mod's own readout for how the Tap performs.[3]

What comes next

The mod also has a Sap Collector block, and the language file lists a wooden variant as well. The sources here don't show a recipe for either one, so I can't tell you how to make them in the pack. No quests in the pack's quest book involve the mod, so you won't get a guided path for it from there.[3]

How does Tree Tap work?

3 parts

Here's the honest picture for this section: the sources I have for Tree Tap only cover its names, one tooltip line and one recipe. They don't explain how sap is produced, how fast, or how it gets moved around, so I'm only describing what can be confirmed.[3]

The pieces you work with

  • The Tap is the mod's basic tool. Its tooltip shows a line called "Speed modifier", so the tap carries a speed value you can read in the item description.[3]
  • There are two Sap Collector blocks. One is a plain Sap Collector and the other is a wooden variant, but both are displayed under the name Sap Collector.[3]
  • If you use Jade, the mod has its own Jade plugin entry for the Tap, so Jade can show information about it when you look at one.[3]

Crafting the Tap

The Tap is a shaped crafting recipe that comes from the mod itself. Here is the exact in-pack version:[2]

Crafting Shaped

5 × any copper ingot

Recipe id: treetap:tap

What the pack changes

The pack's own recipe fix script touches two Tree Tap recipes, treetap:id_menril and treetap:id_menril_tfc. It upgrades their conditions from the Forge format to the NeoForge one, and it also fixes the result key of treetap:id_menril. That is a compatibility patch, and the sources don't say it changes what those recipes produce.[4]

Unverified How the Tap and Sap Collectors work together, what the speed modifier does in numbers, what the collectors store, and how to automate sap with pipes or hoppers are not confirmed by the sources available for this pack. The mod has no config files in the pack either.

How do you progress through Tree Tap?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

The recipe data for this mod in the pack shows one thing: the Tap. It is a shaped crafting recipe, so you make it in a normal crafting grid.[5]

TapMod recipe

Crafting Shaped

5 × any copper ingot

Recipe id: treetap:tap

This is the in-pack crafting recipe for the Tap, the only Tree Tap recipe the pack data lists.

That makes the Tap your starting point with this mod. The pack data here does not show any further tiers or upgrade steps, so there is nothing more to lay out for this section.[5]
