What is Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More)?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More) adds utility items to Cobblemon for a better experience. This pack ships version 1.7.4 of it, and most of what it adds is about tweaking the Pokemon you already own.[1][2]
What it adds
The bottlecap items are the IV tools. The Golden Cap boosts all IVs to max, Silver Caps boost one particular IV to max, the Wooden Cap randomizes IVs, the Void Cap sets IVs to 0, and Obsidian Caps lower one particular IV by 1.[1]
The extras cover a lot of ground. The Void Feather sets EVs to 0, the Poke Treat raises Friendship and the Stale Poke Treat lowers it, and the Shiny Card switches a Cobblemon's shiny status. Level and evolution tools include the Common Candy (level down by 1), the Master Candy (level 100), and the Devolution Relic (devolves a Cobblemon). Cobblemax maxes level, IVs and Friendship, while Cobblemin minimizes them. The Rider's Relic boosts riding stats by 100.[1]
Two of these items get their own quests in the pack. Transmutation Orb switches a Cobblemon's gender if applicable. Ball Synchronizer changes the Poke ball to the one in the Cobblemon's item slot.[1]
Where it sits in the quest book
Both quests live in the chapter "Tips and Poke Tricks", chapter 4 of 70 in the book, which has 24 quests. They are "Transmutation Orb" quest and "Ball Synchronizer" quest.[3]
In the quest, you right click a Pokemon with the orb to switch its gender, which is handy when you can't find the right gender to breed. For the synchronizer, you let a Pokemon hold the ball you want, then use the item on it. The ball it was in gets voided, so the quest says it's mostly useful with balls that give benefits after a catch.[3]
Neither quest lists a quest it comes after. Both are among the quests that the checkmark quest a quest in "Tips and Poke Tricks" ("Complete all tricks!") comes after. The others are "Balls that help Pokemon" quest, "Balls with a greater Catch rate" quest, "Trainer Repel Rod" quest, "Balls that are thrown differently" quest and one untitled quest. So they sit in the "tricks" part of the chapter, next to the Poke Ball tips and the Trainer Repel Rod. The chapter's other checkmark quest, a quest in "Tips and Poke Tricks" ("Complete all the tips!"), covers the general mod tips.[3]
Unverified Whether the ATM Star quest path uses this mod is not shown by the quest sources here. The quest book also has an "Evolution" chapter with 33 quests, and its text is not included in these sources, so check it in the quest book itself.
How do you get started with Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More)?
5 parts
Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More) adds utility items that change a Pokemon's gender, Poké Ball, IVs, EVs, level and evolution stage. This is the order I'd go in, following how the pack's quest book introduces the items.[1][4][5]
Transmutation Orb
Start with the Transmutation Orb. Right click a Pokemon with it and it switches gender, which helps when you can't find the right partner to breed. The pack's quest book covers it in "Transmutation Orb" quest.[4][5]

Ball Synchronizer
Next is the Ball Synchronizer. Give a Pokemon the Poké Ball you want in its held item slot, then right click it with the Synchronizer to swap its ball. The old ball is voided. The quest book says this mostly matters for balls that give a benefit after a catch, see "Ball Synchronizer" quest.[4][5]

Reset tools: Wooden Cap and Void Feather
The Wooden Cap randomizes a Pokemon's Hypertrained IVs, and the Void Feather sets its EVs to 0.[4]

Common Candy
Common Candy reduces a Pokemon's level by 1. One craft gives you 4.[4][6]
Devolution Relic
Save the Devolution Relic for later. It forces a Pokemon to devolve. In the quest book it comes after "Evolve your Pokemon" quest in the Evolution chapter, see a quest in "Evolution". It does not work on first-stage Pokemon.[4][7]

How does Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More) work?
4 parts
Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More) has no machines, multiblocks, power or fluid handling. It adds utility items for Cobblemon, and each one changes a single thing about a Cobblemon, such as its IVs, EVs, level, friendship, gender or Poké ball. So the core mechanics here are what each item does and how you craft it.[1][4]
Using the items
The mod's own tooltip text describes the effect of every item. The one that spells out how to use it is the Ball Synchronizer: you right click on a Cobblemon that has the Poké ball you want in its item slot. The other tooltips only describe the effect, so check the item in game for how it is applied.[4]
IV and EV items
The caps work on a Cobblemon's IVs, and the tooltips separate Hypertrained IVs from Base IVs. The Wooden Cap randomizes a Cobblemon's Hypertrained IVs. The cobblemon_utility:voidcap sets both its Hypertrained and Base IVs to 0.[4]
There is one Obsidian Cap per stat, and each sets that stat's Hypertrained IV to 0: HP Obsidian Cap, Atk Obsidian Cap, Def Obsidian Cap, Sp. Atk Obsidian Cap, Sp. Def Obsidian Cap and Speed Obsidian Cap. The project page words these as decreasing a particular IV by 1, which disagrees with the in-game tooltips. The tooltips are the mod's own text, so go by those.[1][4]
For EVs there is the Void Feather, which sets a Cobblemon's EVs to 0.[4]

Level and friendship items
The Common Candy reduces a Cobblemon's level by 1. The Poké Treat increases friendship, and the Stale Poké Treat decreases it.[4]
The Cobblemin minimizes a Cobblemon's level, IVs and friendship in one go. Its recipe is a chain of the mod's other items, and one craft makes 2.[4][6]

Gender, evolution and ball items
The Transmutation Orb switches a Cobblemon's gender, and the project page adds that this only applies where a gender switch is possible. The Devolution Relic forces a Cobblemon to devolve.[1][4]
The pack changed the recipes for two of these items, the Ball Synchronizer and the Devolution Relic. What you see in the blocks below is the pack's version, not the mod's default.[6]

How do you progress through Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More)?
5 parts
Cobblemon Utility+ doesn't have a big tier ladder of its own in this pack. The quest book gives it three quests, and the rest of the mod is a set of crafting recipes. Here's where the quests put it and how the recipes chain together.[5][6][7]
Where the quest book places it
- "Transmutation Orb" quest is in the Tips and Poke Tricks chapter. Right click a Pokemon with the Transmutation Orb and it switches Gender, which helps when you can't find the right partner for Breeding.[5]
- "Ball Synchronizer" quest is in the same chapter. Let a Pokemon hold the Ball you want, then use the Ball Synchronizer on it to switch. The Ball it was in is Voided, so the quest says it mainly pays off with Balls that give a benefit after catching.[5]
- Both of those quests are listed as prerequisites of the "Complete all tricks!" quest at the end of the Tips and Poke Tricks chapter.[5]
- a quest in "Evolution" is in the Evolution chapter and unlocks after "Evolve your Pokemon" quest. Give the Devolution Relic to a Pokemon to Devolve it. It doesn't work on first Evolution Pokemon.[7]
The road to the Devolution Relic
The Devolution Relic sits at the end of the Evolution chapter's trainer path, so you reach it through the pack's Level Cap system. That path runs like this:[7]
- "Level Caps" quest: once your Pokemon hits Level 15, you need to beat a certain Trainer to unlock your Level Cap. You'll need a Trainer Card and a Trainer Associate, which the quest says show up most in Villages.[7]
- "Series" quest: Trainer Associates give you a Series when you hand them a Trainer Card. Beating a Trainer with a higher Level Cap in a Series raises your own Level Cap.[7]
- a quest in "Evolution": the Trainer Spawner summons a Series Trainer when it has the Signature Item inside and gets a Redstone Signal.[7]
- "Beat that Trainer!" quest: go and win the battle.[7]
- "Evolve your Pokemon" quest: open your Team with M, view the Pokemon and click the Evolve Button under its picture.[7]
- a quest in "Evolution": the Devolution Relic quest comes after this one.[7]
The pack changed both the Devolution Relic recipe and the Ball Synchronizer recipe from the mod's own versions, so go by the recipes shown here.[6]

The cap crafting chain
The rest of the mod's recipes are caps and treats. None of the quests cover them, so there is no quest order to follow. You start with the Wooden Cap, then move on to the obsidian caps and the cobblemon_utility:voidcap.[5][6][7]

Candy, treats and Cobblemin
Cobblemin is the end of the chain. Its recipe uses other crafted items from this mod, so make those first. One craft gives you 2 Cobblemin. The Common Candy recipe gives 4 per craft, and the Stale Poké Treat recipe gives 2.[6]
How does Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More) work with other mods?
4 parts
Most of the ways this mod links up with the rest of the pack run through crafting. The in-pack recipes that connect it to other mods pair items from Cobblemon with plain vanilla Minecraft items, so you will be digging through Cobblemon's items to make your utility gear.[6]
Obsidian Caps and the Void Cap
The Obsidian Caps each decrease one particular IV by 1, and the Void Cap sets IVs to 0. In this pack, every one of these caps is crafted from a different Cobblemon item together with vanilla items, so each stat has its own recipe. The six Obsidian Cap recipes make 2 caps per craft, while the Void Cap recipe makes 1.[1][6]

Transmutation Orb

Recipe id: cobblemon_utility:transmutation_orb_moon
The quest book covers it too. The "Transmutation Orb" quest in the "Tips and Poke Tricks" chapter explains the use case: if you can't find the Pokemon of the right gender to breed, right click one of yours with the orb and it switches gender.[5]
Cobblemin
Cobblemin minimizes a Cobblemon's level, IVs, and Friendship. It is a shapeless recipe that combines a Cobblemon Poké Ball with other items from this mod, and it makes 2 per craft.[1][6]
Ball Synchronizer and Cobblemon's Poké Balls
The Ball Synchronizer has its own quest in the "Tips and Poke Tricks" chapter. It switches the ball a Pokemon is in: you let the Pokemon hold the ball you want, then use the synchronizer on it. The ball it was in is voided.[1][5]
The quest itself says this is mainly worth it with balls that give benefits after catching. The same chapter has a quest on those balls: the Friend, Luxury and Heal Balls, which help your Pokemon after they are caught. So the Synchronizer connects this mod to Cobblemon's own Poké Ball lineup.[5]
I can't tell you what the 8 quests in that chapter that were left out of my sources say, so check the quest book for those.[5]
Which All the Mons quests use Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More)?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
The quest book covers Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More) with three quests, spread over two chapters. Two are in "Tips and Poke Tricks" (chapter 4 of 70 in the book) and one is in "Evolution" (chapter 11 of 70, in the Cobblemon group).[3][8]
Tips and Poke Tricks
This chapter has 24 quests. Two of them are for this mod, and neither lists a prerequisite quest.[3]
- "Transmutation Orb" quest asks you to have a Transmutation Orb. Right click a Pokemon with it and the Pokemon switches gender. The quest pitches it as a fix for when you can't find the right gender to breed.[3]
- "Ball Synchronizer" quest asks you to have a Ball Synchronizer. Let a Pokemon hold the ball you want, then use the synchronizer on it to switch its ball. The ball it was in is voided. The quest says this mostly pays off with balls that give a benefit after catching.[3]
That last point connects to "Balls that help Pokemon" quest in the same chapter. It covers the Friend, Luxury and Heal Balls, which help a Pokemon after it is caught.[3]
Both of the mod's quests are listed as prerequisites of the checkmark quest a quest in "Tips and Poke Tricks" ("Complete all tricks!"). It also requires the ball quests, "Trainer Repel Rod" quest, and one untitled quest.[3]
Evolution
The Devolution Relic quest sits at the end of the Evolution chapter's trainer and level cap line. Here is the order you reach it in:[8]
- "Level Caps" quest: the Radical Trainers level cap, which you unlock by beating a certain trainer.[8]
- "Series" quest: Trainer Associates, Trainer Cards and your Series.[8]
- a quest in "Evolution": crafting a Trainer Spawner to summon a specific Series trainer.[8]
- "Beat that Trainer!" quest: an advancement task for beating that trainer.[8]
- "Evolve your Pokemon" quest: evolving your Pokemon from the Team screen.[8]
- a quest in "Evolution": the Devolution Relic, which comes right after the evolve quest.[8]
The Devolution Relic is for when you want to undo an evolution: give it to your Pokemon. The quest notes it doesn't work on a first-stage Pokemon.[8]
What changed in Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More) between versions?
1 part
All the Mons 1.0.1 ships Cobblemon Utility+ (IVs, EVs, & More) 1.7.3. The mod was first included in All the Mons 0.3.0-beta or earlier. The mod's own changelogs below cover the 1.7.3 and 1.7.2 releases.[9]
Mod releases
- 1.7.3 (the version in this pack): added shining silver caps, which adjust base IVs rather than hypertrained IVs. It also fixed issues with the wooden bottle cap.[9][10]
- 1.7.2: fixed the Wooden Bottlecap recipe.[11]
The big takeaway for you is in 1.7.3. Shining silver caps give you a way to adjust base IVs directly, and the wooden bottle cap received further fixes after its recipe was corrected in 1.7.2.[10][11]
