How does Waystones work?
6 parts
Same as in the Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 guide
Waystones is a teleport network. You activate a waystone once, and from then on you can return to it. You can activate one with a Warp Scroll, a rechargeable Warp Stone, or by using an existing waystone to hop to the next. The sources here describe no machines, power or fluids for this mod, so everything below is about how the teleporting works and how this pack tunes it.[1]
Ways to travel
- Waystone to waystone: in this pack restrictions.allowWaystoneToWaystoneTeleport is on, so you can teleport between waystones by right-clicking one. If that is off, you just get the message "You touch the waystone, but nothing happens."[2][3]
- Scrolls: you hold right-click to charge a scroll. The charge-up is 32 ticks, set by cooldowns.scrollUseTime. A scroll that is not bound to a waystone tells you so when you try to use it.[2][3]
- Warp Stone: it also charges while you hold right-click, for 32 ticks (cooldowns.warpStoneUseTime). If you let go early you get "The Warp Stone is not fully charged yet." After a use there is a 30 second cooldown (cooldowns.warpStoneCooldown). It belongs to the player, not the item, so carrying several stones does not get around it.[2][3]
- Inventory button: this is a configurable button that warps you without any additional items. Its cooldown in this pack is 300 seconds (cooldowns.inventoryButtonCooldown). The mode option (inventoryButton.inventoryButton) accepts NONE, NEAREST (nearest waystone), ANY (opens the waystone selection menu) or a specific waystone name. The pack's config file sets the mode to an empty value.[1][3]
- Warp Plate: you stand on top of it for 20 ticks (cooldowns.warpPlateUseTime).[3]

Warp Plates and Attuned Shards
A Warp Plate teleports you to another warp plate. The game tells you if the plate is not bound to another warp plate yet, or if the shard inside it has lost its attunement. The Attuned Shard and Crumbling Attuned Shard are both made with a crafting type named after the warp plate, shown below.[2][4]

Sharestones and Portstones
The pack has separate settings for teleporting from one sharestone to another and for teleporting from a Portstone. Sharestones come in a plain Sharestone and dyed versions such as Blue Sharestone and Gray Sharestone.[3][4]

XP cost
Travel cost is based on distance. In this pack xpCost.blocksPerXpLevel is 1,000 blocks per level. The base cost has a minimum of 0 (xpCost.minimumBaseXpCost) and a maximum of 3 (xpCost.maximumBaseXpCost). Travelling between dimensions has its own base cost of 3 levels, which ignores distance (xpCost.dimensionalWarpXpCost).[3]
The pack sets every cost multiplier to 0. That covers waystones, Warp Stones, warp plates, sharestones, portstones, the inventory button, global waystones and each leashed animal that travels with you. Each multiplier scales the base cost, so these methods end up scaled down to 0 in this pack.[3]
Rules set by the pack
- Dimensional warp is set to ALLOW, and both the allow list and the deny list are empty, so no dimension is blocked.[3]
- Leashed mobs teleport with you, including between dimensions. Only the wither is on the deny list (restrictions.leashedDenyList).[3]
- Making a waystone global (available to all players) requires creative mode in this pack. The global cooldown multiplier is 1.[1][3]
- Anyone can rename a waystone, because renaming is not restricted to the owner. Placing and breaking is not limited to creative players either.[3]
Which Waystones config options matter?
5 parts
Same as in the Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 guide
Waystones is configured in one file, config/waystones-common.toml. Here is how this pack sets the options you are most likely to care about. The values below are the pack's own.[3]
XP costs
Travel cost is where this pack is most distinctive. xpCost.maximumBaseXpCost is 3 and xpCost.minimumBaseXpCost is 0, so the distance-based base cost stays between those two. xpCost.blocksPerXpLevel is 1,000, and xpCost.dimensionalWarpXpCost is 3 for travelling between dimensions, which ignores block distance.[3]
Every multiplier applied to that base cost is set to 0. That covers xpCost.waystoneXpCostMultiplier, xpCost.warpStoneXpCostMultiplier, xpCost.warpPlateXpCostMultiplier, xpCost.portstoneXpCostMultiplier, xpCost.sharestoneXpCostMultiplier, xpCost.inventoryButtonXpCostMultiplier and xpCost.globalWaystoneXpCostMultiplier. xpCost.xpCostPerLeashed is also 0, and xpCost.inverseXpCost is false.[3]
Cooldowns and use times
- cooldowns.inventoryButtonCooldown is 300 seconds between uses of the inventory button.[3]
- cooldowns.warpStoneCooldown is 30 seconds. It is bound to the player, so multiple warp stones share the same cooldown.[3]
- cooldowns.warpStoneUseTime and cooldowns.scrollUseTime are both 32 ticks of charge-up while holding right-click.[3]
- cooldowns.warpPlateUseTime is 20 ticks, which is how long you stand on a warp plate.[3]
- cooldowns.globalWaystoneCooldownMultiplier is 1.[3]
Restrictions
- restrictions.dimensionalWarp is ALLOW, and both the dimension allow list and deny list for warping are empty, so cross-dimension warping is not restricted.[3]
- restrictions.allowWaystoneToWaystoneTeleport is true, so you can hop between waystones by right-clicking one.[3]
- restrictions.restrictToCreative is false and restrictions.restrictRenameToOwner is false.[3]
- restrictions.globalWaystoneSetupRequiresCreativeMode is true, so only creative players can make a waystone globally activated.[3]
- restrictions.transportLeashed and restrictions.transportLeashedDimensional are both true, so leashed mobs come with you. The only mob on restrictions.leashedDenyList is minecraft:wither.[3]
- restrictions.generatedWaystonesUnbreakable is false, so waystones from world generation can be broken.[3]
World generation
worldGen.frequency is 25, the approximate chunk distance between freely generated waystones. worldGen.spawnInVillages is true while worldGen.forceSpawnInVillages is false, so some villages may still have no waystone. worldGen.worldGenStyle is BIOME, which makes the look depend on the biome. worldGen.dimensionAllowList lists the Overworld, the Nether and the End.[3]
worldGen.nameGenerationMode is PRESET_FIRST, but worldGen.customWaystoneNames is empty.[3]
Inventory button and JourneyMap
inventoryButton.inventoryButton is set to an empty string in this pack. The file describes NONE, NEAREST, ANY or a waystone name as the options, so what an empty value does here is unverified. The button's inventory position is set by inventoryButton.warpButtonX (58) and inventoryButton.warpButtonY (60).[3]
compatibility.displayWaystonesOnJourneyMap and compatibility.preferJourneyMapIntegration are both true. client.disableTextGlow is false.[3]
Unverified The sources only show this pack's values, not the mod's defaults, so which of these options the pack actually changed from the default is not confirmed here.
