How does Time in a bottle work?
5 parts
Same as in the Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 guide
Time in a bottle is a simple mod with one item: Time in a bottle. It quietly collects time while you play, and you spend that time to speed up the block you click. Here is how that works in this pack.[1][2]
Using the bottle
- Get a Time in a bottle. The pack changed its crafting recipe, shown further down.[2][3]
- Wait for the stored time to go up. The bottle collects time passively, and its tooltip shows both the stored time and the total accumulated time.[1][2]
- Right click a tickable block, such as a furnace, crops or a brewing stand. For blocks like the furnace, use Shift right click instead.[2]
- Each click doubles the speed applied to that block, and the boost lasts 30 seconds.[2][4]
What each click costs
Every doubling needs enough stored time in the bottle. The mod page lists these costs per click: x2 costs 30 seconds, x4 costs 30 seconds, x8 costs 60 seconds, x16 costs 120 seconds, x32 costs 240 seconds and x64 costs 480 seconds. The list carries on in the same pattern after that.[2]
Pack settings
The pack sets the mod's values in defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml. These are the ones that shape how the bottle plays.[4]
- [[config:defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml#Time In A Bottle. Each Use Duration]] is 30 seconds (allowed range 1 to 60). This is how long one click's boost lasts.[4]
- [[config:defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml#Time In A Bottle.Max Time Rate Power]] is 8 (allowed range 1 to 12). The config describes it as a power of two, so 2^8 means a top speed of 256 times faster.[4]
- [[config:defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml#Time In A Bottle.Max Stored Time]] is 622,080,000 ticks, at 20 ticks per second. That is the top of its allowed range of 600 to 622,080,000, so the pack leaves the bottle's storage cap as high as it can go.[4]
- [[config:defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml#Time In A Bottle.Average Update Random Tick]] is 1365 (allowed range 600 to 2100). It sets the average random tick rate for blocks in a chunk, for example sapling growth. At 1365, a block is updated on average every 68.27 seconds (1365.33 game ticks).[4]
- [[config:defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml#Time In A Bottle.API Access]] lists the mods blocked from having API access: projectexpansion and solarflux. The config notes that Tiab itself can be added to this list too.[4]

Admin command
The mod has one command for adding or removing time on a bottle: /tiab followed by addTime or removeTime and an amount in seconds. It is handy for testing or fixing a bottle.[2]
This is the Time in a bottle mod, a fork of an earlier standalone Time in a bottle. The pack's recipe for it uses content from Just Dire Things.[2][3]
Which Time in a bottle config options matter?
2 parts
Same as in the Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 guide
Everything here lives in the pack's server config file for Time in a Bottle. These are the options you're most likely to care about, with the exact values this pack uses.[4]
How long and how fast
- [[config:defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml#Time In A Bottle. Each Use Duration]] is 30 in this pack (seconds, allowed range 1 to 60). That is how long each click's speed-up lasts. The mod page also describes each click as lasting 30 seconds, so the pack matches it.[2][4]
- [[config:defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml#Time In A Bottle.Max Time Rate Power]] is 8 (allowed range 1 to 12). It sets the maximum speed-up as a power of 2, so 2^8 gives 256 times faster.[4]
- [[config:defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml#Time In A Bottle.Max Stored Time]] is 622,080,000 (allowed range 600 to 622,080,000). It is measured in ticks, where 1 second is 20 ticks, so the pack sits at the top of the allowed range. The mod page's sample config shows the same number for its max stored time option.[2][4]
Random ticks and API access
- [[config:defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml#Time In A Bottle.Average Update Random Tick]] is 1,365 (allowed range 600 to 2,100). It defines the average random tick for blocks in a chunk, which matters for things like sapling growth. On average, blocks are updated every 68.27 seconds (1365.33 game ticks).[4]
- [[config:defaultconfigs/tiab-server.toml#Time In A Bottle.API Access]] is set to projectexpansion and solarflux in this pack. It is the list of mods blocked from having API access, and the option's own comment says Tiab itself can be added too.[4]
