What is ME Requester?
1 part
ME Requester keeps items and fluids in stock in your Applied Energistics 2 ME system. You tell it how much of something you want to have available, and it requests more whenever the amount in your network drops.[1]
A Requester hosts 5 requests by default, and you can place as many Requesters on your system as you like. You can reach all of them remotely through the ME Requester Terminal, where you set up the requests and check their status without walking back to the machine.[1]
The number of slots a Requester supports can be changed in the mod's configuration, and so can its channel and idle energy usage. This pack does not show any changes to these values in the sources I have, so treat the numbers above as the mod's defaults.[1]
Background and version
If you ever used Lazier AE2, the Requester may look familiar. The developers split it out of that mod into a standalone mod, rewrote the whole system, and added fluid support.[1]
This pack includes ME Requester 1.20.1-1.2.1. It has been in the pack since version 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[2]
How do you get started with ME Requester?
4 parts
The ME Requester mod keeps items and fluids in stock in your Applied Energistics 2 ME network. You set an amount, and the Requester asks the network for new crafts when it needs them. Getting started only takes two items, and the order matters.[1][3]
Step 1: the ME Requester
Start with the ME Requester. This is the block that holds your requests, and it has to be connected to your ME network. You can place as many of them as you like on your system.[1][3]

Step 2: the ME Requester Terminal
Next, make the ME Requester Terminal. It lets you reach every Requester on your network remotely, so you can configure requests and watch their status without walking back to each block. It uses the Requester you just made as one of its ingredients, so craft that first.[1][3][4]

Set it up
- Place the ME Requester and connect it to your ME network.[3]
- Open the network with the ME Requester Terminal. If it shows that no Requesters were found, the Requester is not connected to the network yet.[3]
- Set up your requests from the terminal. A Requester idles when the requested amount is already reached or when there is no crafting pattern for that item or fluid.[3]
- Keep an eye on the status. A Requester shows when the system is currently crafting the request, when ingredients are missing, and when it is trying to export the results. If the export status lasts a long time, there is no available space for the export.[3]
What this pack sets
In this pack, each Requester holds up to 16 requests, set by requester.requests. The mod's project page lists 5 as its default, so the pack has changed this value. The Requester also needs an ME channel, because requester.require_channel is true. It drains 5 AE from the network while idle, set by requester.idle_energy.[1][5]
How does ME Requester work?
4 parts
The ME Requester is a simple block with one job: it keeps items and fluids in stock in your Applied Energistics 2 network. When the stock of something drops below the amount you asked for, it requests a new craft from the system.[1][3]
How the Requester works
A Requester has to be connected to an ME network. You don't configure it at the block itself: you open it remotely from the ME Requester Terminal. The terminal lets you set up the requests and watch their status. You can place as many Requesters on your system as you like, and the terminal shows them all. If there are none on the network, it tells you "No ME Requesters found!".[1][3]
Fluids work too, not just items. The mod was rewritten from the Requester feature of an older mod (Lazier AE2) and made standalone, and fluid support came with that rewrite.[1]
Request statuses
The terminal shows a status for each request. These are the states the mod describes:[3]
- Idle: the requested amount is already reached, or there is no crafting pattern for that item or fluid.[3]
- Link (crafting): the system is currently crafting the requested item or fluid.[3]
- Missing: the system lacks ingredients to craft it. The process continues once the ingredients are available.[3]
- Export: the Requester is trying to push the crafting results into the system. If it stays in this state for a long time, there is no space available for the export.[3]
- Locked: the tooltip reads "Locked! Request in progress." while a request is running.[3]
The idle state matters for troubleshooting. If a request just sits there, check whether you have an actual crafting pattern for the item or fluid, since without one the Requester stays idle.[3]
Pack settings
The mod's config file controls how many requests a Requester holds, whether it needs a channel, and how much energy it uses while idle. This is how the pack sets them.[5]
- requester.requests is 16 in this pack, with an allowed range of 1 to 64. This is how many requests a single Requester can hold. The mod's own default is 5, so the pack gives you more slots per Requester than a stock install.[1][5]
- requester.require_channel is true, so each Requester needs an ME network channel to function.[5]
- requester.idle_energy is 5. That is the amount of energy in AE the Requester drains from the ME network while idle.[5]

How do you progress through ME Requester?
2 parts
ME Requester has no tier ladder in this pack. It comes in two steps, and each one has its own in-pack recipe: first the block, then the terminal that goes with it.[4]
Step 1: the requester
ME Requester is the starting point. It is a shaped crafting recipe from the mod itself, and the pack has not changed it. It is built from Applied Energistics 2 parts, so you need to be set up with AE2 before you can make it.[4]

Step 2: the requester terminal
ME Requester Terminal is the second step, and it builds on the requester you just made. It is a shapeless recipe, so the items can go anywhere in the crafting grid. This recipe is also the mod's own, unchanged by the pack.[4]

How does ME Requester work with other mods?
2 parts
ME Requester is built around Applied Energistics 2. It keeps items and fluids in stock in your ME system, so it only makes sense on top of an AE2 network.[1]
How it plugs into your ME system
The mod's default is 5 requests per ME Requester, and the number of slots is configurable. You can place as many Requesters as you like on your system and manage them remotely through the ME Requester Terminal, which lets you configure the requests and monitor their status.[1]
Crafting links to AE2
Both of the mod's recipes in this pack use AE2 components. The Requester needs AE2 processors and a crafting unit part, plus a few common materials.[4]

The terminal is a shapeless recipe that builds on the Requester and also takes an AE2 processor and an AE2 panel.[4]

Which ME Requester config options matter?
3 parts
ME Requester keeps its settings in config/merequester-common.toml. The options cover how many requests each Requester holds, how much power it uses while idle, and whether it needs a channel.[1][5]
Requests per Requester
requester.requests sets how many requests a single ME Requester can hold. This pack sets it to 16. The mod's own default is 5, so each Requester here holds more than in a plain install. The option accepts values from 1 to 64.[1][5]
Idle energy
requester.idle_energy is the amount of energy, in AE, that the ME Requester drains from your ME network when idle. This pack sets it to 5.[5]
Channel requirement
requester.require_channel controls whether the ME Requester needs an ME network channel to function. This pack has it set to true, so each Requester you place needs a channel on your network.[5]
What changed in ME Requester between versions?
1 part
Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 ships ME Requester 1.20.1-1.2.1. It was first included in pack version 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[2]
Mod changelog highlights
- 1.20.1-1.2.1 (the version in this pack): fixed Mixins not loading.[2][6]
- 1.20.1-1.1.5: fixed the Requester handling jobs on different grids.[7]
Both entries are bug fixes. The pack's own changelogs have no entries for this mod, so nothing here records a pack-specific change to it.[6][7]
