What is EndlessBiomes?

This pack includes EndlessBiomes 1.6.0. The file it ships is named EndlessBiomes 1.6.1 - 1.20.1.jar, so the jar name and the listed version differ slightly. The mod has been in the pack since version 0.0.51.1 or earlier.[1]

How do you get started with EndlessBiomes?

5 parts

Welcome to EndlessBiomes! The order below follows how the in-pack recipes feed into each other, starting with building blocks and working up to armour and the loaded core. It is a suggested route, not an official progression.[2]

Step one: Arkan Bricks

Arkan and Polished Arkan are your basic building stones, and Arkan Bricks are the first thing to make from them. You can craft them from Polished Arkan or use the stonecutter, and both recipes are shown below. Bricks then lead to Arkan Brick Slab, Arkan Brick Stairs and Arkan Brick Wall.[2]

Step two: Arkan Glass and Radon lamps

Next, get hold of some Riftite Shard. The mod even has an advancement for collecting them. Shards go into Arkan Glass, and that glass is the base for the Radon lamps, such as the Black Radon Lamp.[2][3]

Crafting Shapeless

You don't have to start over to change a lamp's colour. A separate redyeing recipe turns an existing Radon lamp into a new colour.[2]

Step three: Penumbra wood

For a wooden building set, start with Penumbra Planks. From there you can make Penumbra Fence and the Penumbra Fence Gate. Twisted wood has matching planks and a fence gate too.[2]

Step four: Anklor Shell armour

For protection, start with the Anklor Shell Plate. Its recipe below is where Anklor Shell Fragments and Resistive Grease come in. Each armour piece is then made with a smithing recipe from the matching iron piece, and the Anklor Upgrade Template is part of it. Helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots all work this way.[2]

The chestplate, leggings and boots follow the same pattern with their iron counterparts.

Tip: The pack changed the template duplication recipe. One craft gives you 2 Anklor Upgrade Templates, so one template can be turned into more for the rest of the set.[2]

Step five: the Loaded Core

Once you have Riftite Shards, you can turn an Empty Core into a Loaded Core. The mod has an advancement for entering the void and escaping safely with a loaded core, so this is a good one to have ready.[2][3]

How does EndlessBiomes work?

6 parts

If you're expecting machines here, the sources for this pack don't show any in EndlessBiomes. They don't show multiblocks, power, fluid handling or item automation either. What they do show is a content mod built around blocks, crafting chains and a handful of special mechanics, so this section covers how its items turn into each other and what the pack changed.[2][3]

Arkan stone chain

Arkan Bricks can be crafted from Polished Arkan, and that craft gives 4 bricks at once. A stonecutter also turns either Arkan or Polished Arkan into a single brick.[2]

Arkan Bricks can then be made into Arkan Brick Slab, and the slab recipe gives 6 slabs.[2]

Cracked bricks

Cracked Arkan Bricks and Cracked End Stone Bricks each have a normal furnace smelting recipe from the mod. The pack also adds its own Ender IO alloy smelting recipe for each of them, so you aren't limited to a furnace.[2]

Overall, most of the mod's recipes are plain crafting table or stonecutter recipes. The recipe dump counts 33 shaped crafting recipes and 19 stonecutting recipes that take this mod's items and make this mod's items.[2]

Radon lamps

The mod has a whole set of coloured radon lamps, from Black Radon Lamp to Blue Radon Lamp and many more. Each colour has a crafting recipe, and a separate redying recipe lets you recolour a lamp you already have. Here are both for the black lamp.[2][3]

Anklor armour and the upgrade template

Anklor Shell Boots are made with a smithing recipe. First you craft an Anklor Shell Plate, then you take it to the smithing table together with an Anklor Upgrade Template.[2]

The pack changed the template duplication recipe, so don't rely on the mod's default. In this pack one craft gives you 2 templates.[2]

Growing Ender Ferns

Ender Ferns have a Botany Pots crop recipe, so you can farm them in a pot instead of hunting for them.[2]

Altars

The mod has an End Altar and a Ruinous Altar. Its language file has altar sounds for creating an item, finishing a creation and claiming a sacrifice, and one advancement asks you to sacrifice yourself to a ruinous altar.[3]

How do you progress through EndlessBiomes?

5 parts

The sources for this mod don't lay out formal tiers, so here is how the in-pack recipes chain together, from simple building stone up to armour and gadgets.[2]

Stage 1: Arkan building blocks

Everything starts with Arkan, which leads to Arkan Bricks. Polished Arkan also shows up in the brick recipes. The crafting route is below, followed by two stonecutting routes.[2]

From there you can make Arkan Brick Slab, Arkan Brick Stairs and Arkan Brick Wall. Plain Arkan also has Arkan Slab and Arkan Stairs.[2]

For Cracked Arkan Bricks and Cracked End Stone Bricks, the mod uses a normal smelting recipe. The pack also adds an Ender IO alloy smelting recipe for each of them.[2]

Stage 2: Riftite and glass

Riftite Shard is the next step up. It turns Arkan into 4 Arkan Glass at a time.[2]

Arkan Glass is the base for the radon lamps, such as Blue Radon Lamp and Green Radon Lamp. Keep an eye out for Radon too, since it features in the lamp recipes. The Blue Radon Lamp recipe below shows the full lamp recipe. Once you own a lamp, a redying recipe lets you change its colour.[2]

Riftite Shards are also used for the Loaded Core, which starts from an Empty Core, and for Phantom Block. Both recipes are below.[2]

Stage 3: Anklor shell armour

The Anklor armour starts with a single Anklor Shell Plate. Keep an eye out for Anklor Shell Fragments and Resistive Grease, which both feature in the recipe below.[2]

Each armour piece is a smithing upgrade. You take the matching iron piece, a plate and an Anklor Upgrade Template. That gives you Anklor Shell Helmet, Anklor Shell Chestplate, Anklor Shell Leggings or Anklor Shell Boots. Here is the helmet as an example.[2]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: endlessbiomes:anklor_helmet_recipe

The pack changes the template duplication recipe. In this pack it uses a template, Arkan and an iron ingot, and it makes 2 templates. A full set needs four plates, so duplicating templates is worth setting up.[2]

Growing the plants

The mod's plants have Botany Pots crop recipes, so you can farm them. They include Ender Ferns, Ender Roots, Penumbral Roots and Reaching Vines. Growing Penumbral Vines also yields a Penumbral Bulb, and Reaching Vines yield Reaching Marula.[2]
