What is Enchanting Infuser?
Enchanting Infuser is part of this pack's mod list. The pack ships version 8.0.3, built for 1.20.1 on Forge.[1]
It has been in the pack for a while. It was first included in version 0.0.45.4 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
How do you get started with Enchanting Infuser?
3 parts
The Enchanting Infuser lets you choose the enchantments for your gear. There are two tiers, and in this pack both have custom recipes, so the order you make them in matters.[2][3]
Step 1: the Enchanting Infuser
Start with the basic infuser. The pack added this recipe itself, so check the exact in-pack version here:[2]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/enchantinginfuser_enchanting_infuser
The basic infuser is deliberately limited in this pack. It will not enchant books (normal_infuser.allow_books is false), it can only work on unenchanted items (normal_infuser.allow_modifying_enchantments is "UNENCHANTED") and it cannot repair (normal_infuser.allow_repairing is "NOTHING"). It also leaves out enchantments that an anvil can add but an enchanting table can't (normal_infuser.types.allow_anvil_enchantments is false).[4]
Step 2: build up bookshelves
Enchanting power comes from bookshelves. The in-game hint says to place more bookshelves in a square around the infuser, on up to two layers. Both infusers need 15 bookshelves for maximum level enchantments (normal_infuser.maximum_bookshelves and advanced_infuser.maximum_bookshelves), and filling in the corners matters to reach higher values.[3][4]
One thing to keep in mind: the description of normal_infuser.maximum_bookshelves says the value is fixed at 50 when Apotheosis is installed.[4]
Step 3: upgrade to the Advanced Enchanting Infuser
Once the basic one is working, move up to the Advanced Enchanting Infuser. Its recipe needs the basic infuser, so make that first.[2]

This is where the mod opens up. The advanced infuser's description says you can choose, modify and remove enchantments, and the pack settings back that up:[3][4]
- Books can be enchanted (advanced_infuser.allow_books is true).[4]
- Enchantments on already enchanted items can be increased or removed (advanced_infuser.allow_modifying_enchantments is "ALL").[4]
- It can repair tools and armor using levels (advanced_infuser.allow_repairing is "TOOLS_AND_ARMOR").[3][4]
- Anvil-only enchantments are allowed (advanced_infuser.types.allow_anvil_enchantments is true).[4]
- The cost scale is lower than on the basic one: advanced_infuser.costs.maximum_cost is 20, against 30 for normal_infuser.costs.maximum_cost.[4]
How does Enchanting Infuser work?
6 parts
This mod gives you two machines: the Enchanting Infuser and the Advanced Enchanting Infuser. Instead of leaving it to chance, you choose the enchantments you want for your gear. Depending on how the infuser is set up, it can also modify or remove enchantments and repair items using levels.[3]
Bookshelves and enchanting power
Your enchanting power comes from bookshelves. You place them in a square around the infuser, on up to two layers. The infuser's tooltip shows your current enchanting power out of a maximum. If you don't have enough, it tells you that raising or modifying that enchantment's level needs an infuser with more enchanting power.[3]
Both infusers are set to 15 bookshelves for maximum-level enchantments (normal_infuser.maximum_bookshelves and advanced_infuser.maximum_bookshelves). Filling in the corners matters for reaching higher values. The config notes that this value is fixed at 50 when Apotheosis is installed, and that very high values may need modded bookshelves giving more than one enchanting power per block. The Apotheosis compat option (integration.apotheosis_integration) is enabled in the pack.[4]
When each enchantment type unlocks
Each rarity becomes available at a multiplier of your maximum enchanting power. These values are the same for both infusers in the pack. Separately, normal_infuser.power.rarity_range and advanced_infuser.power.rarity_range (0.4 in the pack) set how much power you need to max out an enchantment.[4]
- Common: -0.2 (normal_infuser.power.common_multiplier, advanced_infuser.power.common_multiplier)[4]
- Uncommon: 0.2 (normal_infuser.power.uncommon_multiplier, advanced_infuser.power.uncommon_multiplier)[4]
- Rare: 0.4 (normal_infuser.power.rare_multiplier, advanced_infuser.power.rare_multiplier)[4]
- Very rare: 0.6 (normal_infuser.power.very_rare_multiplier, advanced_infuser.power.very_rare_multiplier)[4]
- Undiscoverable: 0.9 (normal_infuser.power.undiscoverable_multiplier, advanced_infuser.power.undiscoverable_multiplier)[4]
- Untradeable: 0.9 (normal_infuser.power.untradeable_multiplier, advanced_infuser.power.untradeable_multiplier)[4]
- Treasure: 0.95 (normal_infuser.power.treasure_multiplier, advanced_infuser.power.treasure_multiplier)[4]
- Curses: 1 (normal_infuser.power.curse_multiplier, advanced_infuser.power.curse_multiplier)[4]
What the Advanced infuser changes
The pack configures the two tiers differently. Here is what each one allows:[4]
- Books: the Enchanting Infuser can't enchant books (normal_infuser.allow_books is false), while the Advanced one can (advanced_infuser.allow_books is true).[4]
- Already enchanted items: the Enchanting Infuser is set to UNENCHANTED, so it only works on items without enchantments (normal_infuser.allow_modifying_enchantments). The Advanced one is set to ALL, so you can increase or remove enchantments on enchanted items (advanced_infuser.allow_modifying_enchantments).[4]
- Repairing: the Enchanting Infuser is set to NOTHING (normal_infuser.allow_repairing). The Advanced one is set to TOOLS_AND_ARMOR (advanced_infuser.allow_repairing).[4]
- Anvil-only enchantments, such as sharpness on an axe: off for the Enchanting Infuser (normal_infuser.types.allow_anvil_enchantments) and on for the Advanced one (advanced_infuser.types.allow_anvil_enchantments).[4]
Costs
The base cost multiplier per level is 2 for common (normal_infuser.costs.common_cost_multiplier), 3 for uncommon (normal_infuser.costs.uncommon_cost_multiplier), 4 for rare (normal_infuser.costs.rare_cost_multiplier) and 5 for very rare enchantments (normal_infuser.costs.very_rare_cost_multiplier). The Advanced infuser uses the same four values in its own matching options under advanced_infuser.costs.[4]
The cost level that prices scale by is where the tiers differ: 30 on the Enchanting Infuser (normal_infuser.costs.maximum_cost) and 20 on the Advanced one (advanced_infuser.costs.maximum_cost). It isn't a strict cap, and treasure enchantments can push a price past it. Prices for enchantments you can't normally get from an enchanting table are doubled when those are enabled (normal_infuser.costs.double_uniques, advanced_infuser.costs.double_uniques). Cost scaling only counts vanilla enchantments (normal_infuser.costs.scale_costs_by_vanilla_only, advanced_infuser.costs.scale_costs_by_vanilla_only), so lots of modded enchantments won't make everything cheap.[4]
Working an item in an infuser does not raise its anvil prior work penalty here, because normal_infuser.increase_anvil_repair_cost and advanced_infuser.increase_anvil_repair_cost are both false. Your later anvil repairs won't get more expensive from infuser use.[4]
Repairing with levels
Where repairing is allowed, you pay levels to restore durability in steps. Each step restores a share of the item's total durability, set to 0.25 (advanced_infuser.repair.repair_percentage_step). The step cost is multiplied by 2 and rounded up (advanced_infuser.repair.repair_step_multiplier). The Enchanting Infuser has the same values, but repairing is disabled on it in the pack.[3][4]
Crafting
The pack adds its own recipes for both machines, so don't rely on the mod's defaults.[2]

How do you progress through Enchanting Infuser?
2 parts
In this pack the mod has two tiers: the Enchanting Infuser and the Advanced Enchanting Infuser. Both crafting recipes were added by the pack, so don't assume they match the mod's defaults.[2]
First step: Enchanting Infuser
This is the entry point. It is a shaped crafting recipe, and it uses items from the Allthemodium family, so check the recipe card below before you start gathering materials.[2]
Crafting Shaped

Second step: Advanced Enchanting Infuser
The advanced version is also a shaped crafting recipe added by the pack. It is an upgrade: the recipe takes the basic infuser as one of its inputs, so you can't skip the first step. It also uses Allthemodium-family items.[2]

How does Enchanting Infuser work with other mods?
2 parts
The only cross-mod connections I can confirm for Enchanting Infuser in this pack are its two crafting recipes. Both were added by the pack, and both use Allthemodium materials.[2]
Enchanting Infuser
The Enchanting Infuser needs Unobtainium - Allthemodium Alloy Ingot from Allthemodium. It is also built around a vanilla Enchanting Table, so you need one of those ready as well.[2]

Advanced Enchanting Infuser
The Advanced Enchanting Infuser takes the finished Enchanting Infuser as an ingredient, together with Unobtainium Gear from Allthemodium.[2]

Which Enchanting Infuser config options matter?
6 parts
Everything for the infuser lives in one file, normal_infuser.allow_books and its neighbours. The file has a normal_infuser group and an advanced_infuser group, and this pack sets them differently in a few important places. The file shows the pack's values but not the mod's own defaults, so I can't tell you which of these the pack changed from default.[4]
Normal vs advanced infuser
These are the settings where the two infusers differ in this pack. The advanced infuser is more permissive on every one of them.[4]
- Books: normal_infuser.allow_books is false, so the normal infuser can't enchant books. advanced_infuser.allow_books is true.[4]
- Changing existing enchantments: the normal infuser is set to UNENCHANTED, so it only works on items with no enchantments yet (normal_infuser.allow_modifying_enchantments). The advanced infuser is set to ALL (advanced_infuser.allow_modifying_enchantments).[4]
- Repairing with levels: the normal infuser is set to NOTHING (normal_infuser.allow_repairing). The advanced infuser is set to TOOLS_AND_ARMOR (advanced_infuser.allow_repairing).[4]
- Maximum cost: normal_infuser.costs.maximum_cost is 30 for the normal infuser. It is the level that prices scale by and not a strict value, so it can be exceeded.[4]
- Maximum cost on the advanced infuser: advanced_infuser.costs.maximum_cost is 20.[4]
- Anvil-only enchantments (for example sharpness on an axe): normal_infuser.types.allow_anvil_enchantments is false and advanced_infuser.types.allow_anvil_enchantments is true.[4]
Which enchantment types are allowed
In both infusers, curses, treasure, undiscoverable and untradeable enchantments are all switched off. That covers advanced_infuser.types.allow_curses_enchantments, advanced_infuser.types.allow_treasure_enchantments, advanced_infuser.types.allow_undiscoverable_enchantments and advanced_infuser.types.allow_untradeable_enchantments, plus the matching options in the normal_infuser group. The config's own examples are mending (treasure) and soul speed (undiscoverable and untradeable), so don't expect those from an infuser here.[4]
Bookshelves and Apotheosis
normal_infuser.maximum_bookshelves and advanced_infuser.maximum_bookshelves are both set to 15. That is how many bookshelves you need around the infuser for maximum level enchantments, and filling in the corners matters for reaching higher values. The config notes that this value is fixed at 50 when Apotheosis is installed. integration.apotheosis_integration is true in this pack.[4]
Costs
The per-level cost multipliers are identical for both infusers (the normal_infuser group has matching options). Here are the advanced infuser's values.[4]
- advanced_infuser.costs.common_cost_multiplier is 2.[4]
- advanced_infuser.costs.uncommon_cost_multiplier is 3.[4]
- advanced_infuser.costs.rare_cost_multiplier is 4.[4]
- advanced_infuser.costs.very_rare_cost_multiplier is 5.[4]
advanced_infuser.costs.double_uniques is true, so enchantments normally unobtainable from enchanting tables cost double when they are enabled. advanced_infuser.costs.scale_costs_by_vanilla_only is also true, which keeps prices from getting ludicrously cheap when lots of modded enchantments are present.[4]
Enchanting power
The power multipliers decide when each rarity becomes available, and they are the same for both infusers (the normal_infuser group has matching options). Here are the advanced infuser's values.[4]
- advanced_infuser.power.common_multiplier is -0.2.[4]
- advanced_infuser.power.uncommon_multiplier is 0.2.[4]
- advanced_infuser.power.rare_multiplier is 0.4.[4]
- advanced_infuser.power.very_rare_multiplier is 0.6.[4]
- advanced_infuser.power.treasure_multiplier is 0.95.[4]
- advanced_infuser.power.undiscoverable_multiplier is 0.9.[4]
- advanced_infuser.power.untradeable_multiplier is 0.9.[4]
- advanced_infuser.power.curse_multiplier is 1.[4]
- advanced_infuser.power.rarity_range is 0.4. It controls how much power is required to max out an enchantment.[4]
Treasure, curse, undiscoverable and untradeable enchantments also have to be enabled in the types options before their multipliers matter.[4]
Repair and anvil penalty
Repairing is only allowed on the advanced infuser here. advanced_infuser.repair.repair_percentage_step is 0.25, which is how many percentage points of an item's total durability a single repair restores. advanced_infuser.repair.repair_step_multiplier is 2, the level cost multiplier for each repair step, rounded up. The normal infuser has the same two values, but its repairing is set to NOTHING.[4]
