What is Cable Tiers?
2 parts
Cable Tiers adds upgraded versions of the Refined Storage and RSRequestify bus blocks: importers, exporters, constructors, destructors, disk manipulators, interfaces and requesters. This pack ships version 1.20.1-1.2.2. It is for when the basic buses start to feel too slow or too small.[1][2]
The three tiers
- Elite: 9 more filter slots and 2x faster.[1]
- Ultra: 27 more filter slots, 5x faster, with the stack upgrade integrated.[1]
- Mega: 45 more filter slots, 6.5x faster, with the stack upgrade integrated.[1]
The mod also lists tag filtering, side-specific inputs for autocrafting and an import mode for Autocrafters as special features.[1]
Where it sits in the quest book
The pack's quest book has no Cable Tiers chapter of its own. Its quests ask you for the Cable Tiers items inside the Refined Storage chapter, which is in the group Storage and Power.[3]
Each bus type gets a quest line that matches the mod's three tiers. It starts with an Elite quest that asks for the Elite item and follows a Refined Storage or RSRequestify quest. From there the quests ask for the Ultra item, then the Mega item.[1][3]
- a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the Elite Exporter, a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the Elite Importer and a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the Elite Interface. All three follow "Bus Bus Bus Bus !" quest.[1][3]
- a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the Elite Requester and follows "Can I get umm..." quest, the RSRequestify requester quest.[1][3]
- a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the Elite Constructor and follows the a quest in "Refined Storage" quest, which asks for the Refined Storage constructor and destructor.[1][3]
- The Ultra quests follow their Elite ones, for example a quest in "Refined Storage" (Ultra Constructor) and a quest in "Refined Storage" (Ultra Requester). The Mega quests follow the Ultra ones, such as a quest in "Refined Storage" (Mega Constructor) and a quest in "Refined Storage" (Mega Requester).[1][3]
The importer, exporter and interface quests keep the same Elite, Ultra, Mega order. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the Ultra Importer and a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the Mega Importer. a quest in "Refined Storage" (Ultra Exporter) and a quest in "Refined Storage" (Mega Exporter) do the same for exporters. a quest in "Refined Storage" (Ultra Interface) and a quest in "Refined Storage" (Mega Interface) do it for interfaces.[1][3]
How do you get started with Cable Tiers?
3 parts
Cable Tiers gives you faster, roomier versions of the Refined Storage importer, exporter, constructor, destructor, disk manipulator, interface and requester. Every Cable Tiers recipe in this pack builds on a base Refined Storage block, so you need a working Refined Storage network before you craft any of it.[1][4]
In the quest book, the Cable Tiers quests sit in the "Refined Storage" chapter, in the group "Storage and Power" (chapter 16 of 44). Each one unlocks after the base block it upgrades.[3]
The order to follow
- Do "Getting Started" quest and then a quest in "Refined Storage". The Advanced Processor comes before the controller in the book, and the Elite recipes call for it.[3][4]
- Set up the core of your network with "Core of Refined Storage" quest and a quest in "Refined Storage", then reach "Bus Bus Bus Bus !" quest. That one covers the base importer, exporter and interface.[3]
- Make the Elite Importer and the Elite Exporter first. Their quests, a quest in "Refined Storage" and a quest in "Refined Storage", unlock right after the bus quest.[3]
- Next comes the Elite Interface (a quest in "Refined Storage"). Make the Elite Importer and Elite Exporter before it, because it builds on them.[3][4]
- Once you have the base Constructor, upgrade it to the Elite Constructor (a quest in "Refined Storage", which follows a quest in "Refined Storage").[3]
- For autocrafting requests, the Elite Requester (a quest in "Refined Storage") comes after "Can I get umm..." quest.[3]

The pack changes every Cable Tiers recipe, so use the ones below rather than anything you remember from the mod's defaults.[4]

Why start with Elite?
Elite blocks give 9 more filter slots and run 2x faster. In this pack that speed is set by options such as [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Elite Tier Options.eliteExporterSpeed]], which is 2. Elite is also the first step of the chain, because the Ultra and Mega quests each come after the tier below them in the book.[1][3][5]
Ultra and Mega are for later. Ultra adds 27 more filter slots, runs 5x faster and has the stack upgrade integrated. Mega goes to 45 more filter slots and 6.5x speed.[1]
How does Cable Tiers work?
4 parts
Cable Tiers adds upgraded versions of the Importer, Exporter, Constructor, Destructor, Disk Manipulator and Interface from Refined Storage, plus an upgraded Requester from RSRequestify. Every device comes in the Elite, Ultra and Mega tiers.[1]
What each tier gives you
- Elite: 9 more filter slots and 2x faster.[1]
- Ultra: 27 more filter slots, 5x faster, and a stack upgrade built in.[1]
- Mega: 45 more filter slots, 6.5x faster, and a stack upgrade built in.[1]
This pack sets the speeds in its config, and they match those multipliers: 2 for Elite, 5 for Ultra and 6.5 for Mega. That holds for the constructor, destructor, disk manipulator, exporter, importer and interface of each tier. For example, [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Elite Tier Options.eliteConstructorSpeed]] is 2 and [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Mega Tier Options.megaExporterSpeed]] is 6.5. Constructor, destructor and disk manipulator speeds accept values from 1.0 to 20.0. Exporter, importer and interface speeds accept 1.0 to 9.0.[1][5]
What each device does
- Elite Constructor: the mod describes it as faster placing and dropping. The Mega version is even faster, and the Ultra version is faster with an integrated stack upgrade.[6]
- Elite Destructor: faster breaking and collecting. The Ultra version adds more filter slots and an integrated stack upgrade.[6]
- Elite Disk Manipulator: faster manipulating. The Ultra version adds more filter slots and an integrated stack upgrade.[6]
- Elite Exporter and Elite Importer: the Mega versions are described as even faster at exporting and importing. The Ultra versions add more filter slots and an integrated stack upgrade.[6]
- Elite Interface: faster exporting and importing of items. It has separate Export and Import screens. The Mega Interface handles exporting and importing at the same time, even faster, and the Ultra Interface adds more slots and an integrated stack upgrade.[6]
- Elite Requester: the Mega Requester is described as even faster at requesting, and the Ultra Requester adds more slots and an integrated stack upgrade.[6]
The mod's page also lists these special features: tag filtering, side-specific inputs for autocrafting, and an import mode for Autocrafters.[1]
Energy cost and requester limits
Each tier has an energy cost multiplier in the config. In this pack it is 2 for Elite ([[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Elite Tier Options.eliteEnergyCost]]), 3 for Ultra ([[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Ultra Tier Options.ultraEnergyCost]]) and 4 for Mega ([[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Mega Tier Options.megaEnergyCost]]). So the faster tiers cost more power to run.[5]
The Requester also has a maximum craft amount per tier: 2,000 for Elite, 4,000 for Ultra and 6,000 for Mega. These are set with [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Elite Tier Options.eliteRequesterMaxCraftAmount]], [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Ultra Tier Options.ultraRequesterMaxCraftAmount]] and [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Mega Tier Options.megaRequesterMaxCraftAmount]].[5]
Upgrading through the tiers
The pack changed the crafting recipes for these devices. The constructor shows the pattern, and the destructor, disk manipulator, exporter and importer each have their own Elite, Ultra and Mega recipes.[4]

How do you progress through Cable Tiers?
2 parts
Cable Tiers adds upgraded versions of Refined Storage network blocks, and in this pack they come in three tiers: Elite, Ultra and Mega. You get an importer, exporter, interface, constructor, destructor, disk manipulator and requester at each tier, and Mega is the top of the line. For example, the Elite Importer leads to the Ultra Importer, which leads to the Mega Importer.[3][4]
Every Cable Tiers recipe in this pack has been changed by the pack, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. The recipe cards below show the exact in-pack versions.[4]
Where the quest book puts it
The pack's quest book puts the Cable Tiers items in its Refined Storage chapter, in the group "Storage and Power". The tiers branch off the normal Refined Storage quests, and each Elite recipe starts from the plain Refined Storage block, so you unlock each Elite item after its plain version.[3][4]
- The Elite Importer, Elite Exporter and Elite Interface quests all come after "Bus Bus Bus Bus !" quest, which asks for the Refined Storage importer, exporter and interface. Their recipes use those same blocks.[3][4]
- The Elite Constructor quest, a quest in "Refined Storage", comes after the a quest in "Refined Storage" quest, which asks for the Refined Storage constructor. The Elite Constructor recipe uses that constructor.[3][4]
- The Elite Requester quest, a quest in "Refined Storage", comes after "Can I get umm..." quest, which asks for the Requester. The Elite Requester recipe uses that Requester.[3][4]
From there the chain is simple. Each Ultra quest comes after the matching Elite quest, and each Mega quest comes after the matching Ultra quest. This holds for the importer, exporter, interface, requester and constructor, and the recipes follow the same order, since each Ultra recipe uses the Elite item and each Mega recipe uses the Ultra item. For example, a quest in "Refined Storage" follows Elite Constructor, and a quest in "Refined Storage" follows that.[3][4]
The destructor and disk manipulator tiers have no quests of their own in this chapter. You can still craft them at all three tiers, so they are not on the quest path.[3][4]
How the tiers are crafted
The tiers build on each other. The Elite version is made from the matching Refined Storage block, the Ultra version upgrades the Elite one, and the Mega version upgrades the Ultra one. Here is the importer line as an example.[4]

The interfaces work a little differently. Each tier of interface also needs the importer and exporter of the same tier, so you craft those first. The Ultra and Mega interfaces also need the interface from the tier below.[4]

How does Cable Tiers work with other mods?
3 parts
Cable Tiers is all about Refined Storage. It adds upgraded versions of the Importer, Exporter, Constructor, Destructor, Disk Manipulator and Interface from Refined Storage, plus the Requester from RSRequestify. So if you already run a Refined Storage network, this mod slots straight into it.[1]
How the crafting chain works
Every Cable Tiers recipe in the sources is changed by the pack. The Elite tier starts from the matching base block: the Importer, Exporter, Constructor, Destructor or Disk Manipulator. For the requester it starts from the Requester. Each of those recipes also uses the Advanced Processor. The Ultra tier then upgrades the Elite version, for example Elite Exporter into Ultra Exporter.[4]
Here are three examples. The first is the one that links to RSRequestify.[4]

Where it sits in the quest book
The Cable Tiers quests shown in the sources sit inside the "Refined Storage" chapter, in the "Storage and Power" group (chapter 16 of 44 in the book). The Advanced Processor quest comes early in that chapter, right after Getting Started, which fits since nearly every Cable Tiers recipe uses that item. See a quest in "Refined Storage".[3][4]
- Buses: the "Bus Bus Bus Bus !" quest quest asks for the Refined Storage External Storage, Importer, Exporter and Interface. The Elite Exporter, Elite Importer and Elite Interface quests come after it. Each then continues with Ultra and Mega quests, for example Ultra Importer then Mega Importer.[3]
- Constructors: the a quest in "Refined Storage" quest (Constructor and Destructor) comes after the Construction Core quest. After it come a quest in "Refined Storage", then a quest in "Refined Storage", then a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]
- Requesters: the RSRequestify Requester quest "Can I get umm..." quest comes after "Alexa ! Craft for me" quest. The chain then goes a quest in "Refined Storage", a quest in "Refined Storage", a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]
The "Refined Storage" chapter has 7 more quests whose text is not shown in the sources here. Check the quest book for those, since I won't guess what they say.[3]
What each tier gives you
The mod's own project page describes the tiers like this. Elite has 9 more filter slots and is 2x faster. Ultra has 27 more filter slots, is 5x faster, and has the stack upgrade integrated. Mega has 45 more filter slots, is 6.5x faster, and also has the stack upgrade integrated. These are the mod's described values, not something checked against the pack's own settings.[1]
Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use Cable Tiers?
2 parts
In the pack's quest book, every Cable Tiers quest sits in a single chapter: Refined Storage, in the Storage and Power group. Each of these quests asks you to obtain one Cable Tiers item, and they form five chains that go from Elite to Ultra to Mega.[3]
Where the chains start
In the quest book, the Elite importer, exporter and interface quests all come after "Bus Bus Bus Bus !" quest. That quest asks you to obtain the Refined Storage external storage, importer, exporter and interface. It comes after a quest in "Refined Storage", which in turn comes after "Core of Refined Storage" quest.[3]
The requester chain starts after "Can I get umm..." quest, which asks you to obtain the requester from Requestify and comes after "Alexa ! Craft for me" quest. The constructor chain starts after a quest in "Refined Storage", which asks you to obtain the Refined Storage constructor and destructor and comes after a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]
The five chains, in order
- Importer: the quest book asks for the Elite Importer in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Ultra Importer in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Mega Importer in a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]
- Exporter: the quest book asks for the Elite Exporter in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Ultra Exporter in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Mega Exporter in a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]
- Interface: the quest book asks for the Elite Interface in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Ultra Interface in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Mega Interface in a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]
- Requester: the quest book asks for the Elite Requester in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Ultra Requester in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Mega Requester in a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]
- Constructor: the quest book asks for the Elite Constructor in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Ultra Constructor in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Mega Constructor in a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]
Which Cable Tiers config options matter?
2 parts
Everything for Cable Tiers lives in one file, config/cabletiers-common.toml, split into an Elite, an Ultra and a Mega section. Each tier has the same set of options: a speed for each upgraded part, an energy cost multiplier and a maximum craft amount for the requester.[5]
Speed options
Each tier has a speed option for its constructor, destructor, disk manipulator, exporter, importer and interface. In this pack, every one of those is set to the same number within a tier. That number matches the speed multiplier the mod's project page advertises for that tier, so the pack keeps these speeds in line with that description.[1][5]
- Elite: 2 for every speed option, for example [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Elite Tier Options.eliteExporterSpeed]] and [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Elite Tier Options.eliteConstructorSpeed]].[1][5]
- Ultra: 5 for every speed option, for example [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Ultra Tier Options.ultraImporterSpeed]] and [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Ultra Tier Options.ultraDestructorSpeed]].[1][5]
- Mega: 6.5 for every speed option, for example [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Mega Tier Options.megaInterfaceSpeed]] and [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Mega Tier Options.megaDiskManipulatorSpeed]].[1][5]
Energy cost and requester limits
The energy cost options are multipliers (any value above 0), and the requester options set the maximum craft amount (any value above 1). Here is how the pack sets them, tier by tier:[5]
- Elite: [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Elite Tier Options.eliteEnergyCost]] is 2 and [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Elite Tier Options.eliteRequesterMaxCraftAmount]] is 2,000.[5]
- Ultra: [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Ultra Tier Options.ultraEnergyCost]] is 3 and [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Ultra Tier Options.ultraRequesterMaxCraftAmount]] is 4,000.[5]
- Mega: [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Mega Tier Options.megaEnergyCost]] is 4 and [[config:config/cabletiers-common.toml#Mega Tier Options.megaRequesterMaxCraftAmount]] is 6,000.[5]
So the higher the tier, the more energy its parts cost and the bigger the batch the requester can order.[5]
Unverified The sources do not show the mod's own default values for the energy cost and requester max craft amount options, so it is unconfirmed whether the pack changed them.
What changed in Cable Tiers between versions?
1 part
Not much version history is confirmed for Cable Tiers in this pack, so this section is short. Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 ships Cable Tiers 1.20.1-1.2.2. The mod was first included in Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[2]
