What is Simple Inventory Sorter?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Simple Inventory Sorter is included in the pack as version 24.0.24, built for Minecraft 1.21.1 (file inventorysorter-1.21.1-24.0.24.jar). It was first included in this pack's 1.22.0 release or an earlier one.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod does, how its controls work, or whether the pack changes any of its settings. I also have no confirmed information on where it fits in the pack's progression, and it isn't on the ATM Star path. Check in-game before relying on any of those details.
How do you get started with Simple Inventory Sorter?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Good news: Simple Inventory Sorter doesn't ask you to craft anything to get going. The sources I have for this mod list no items or recipes to make first, so there is no recipe block in this section.[2]
What the mod gives you is a set of inventory-handling features, each described as a module that can be enabled or disabled. Knowing what they are helps you spot them in your first containers.[2]
What the mod can do
- Inventory sorting: the mod has an inventory sorting module that can be switched on or off.[2]
- Move all items with the spacebar: a separate module, which can also be enabled or disabled.[2]
- Move a single item with the mouse wheel: scrolling can move an item, and this is its own module too.[2]
- Wheel item to cursor: the mod adds a key binding with this name, so check your controls menu to see or change it.[2]
If a container won't sort
The mod has a container debug option. When it's on, the mod creates log messages whenever a container is being sorted. The stated purpose is to help compile a blacklist, so it's handy if a particular container misbehaves.[2]
Unverified The exact controls that trigger sorting, the default state of each module, the config file and option names, and whether the pack changes any of these settings are not confirmed by the available sources. No quests or in-pack recipes for this mod were found either.
How does Simple Inventory Sorter work?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 guide
Simple Inventory Sorter is not a machine mod. The sources describe no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for it. What they do describe is a small set of inventory screen modules and key bindings.[3]
The modules
The mod's own text describes several modules, and each has a setting that asks whether it is enabled.[3]
- Inventory sorting: the inventory sorting module. Its setting is named after middle click sorting.[3]
- Move all items: a module that uses the spacebar to move all items.[3]
- Mouse-wheel moving: a module where scrolling the mouse wheel moves an item.[3]
Key bindings
The mod adds these entries: Sort inventory, Wheel item to cursor and Wheel item from cursor. Its text also includes the key names Mousewheel Up and Mousewheel Down. Open the controls screen in your own game to see what each action is bound to.[3]
Container debug logging
There is also a container debug option. When it is on, the mod creates log messages whenever a container is being sorted. The mod describes this as an aid for compiling a blacklist.[3]
Unverified The default key for each action, whether each module is switched on in this pack, and which containers are blacklisted could not be confirmed. The sources here include no config files for this mod. The key bindings themselves can be checked on the controls screen in game.
Which Simple Inventory Sorter config options matter?
2 parts
Simple Inventory Sorter has only a few options, and they split into two files. The client file turns features on or off for you. The server file lists the screens and slots the sorter must leave alone. Everything below is how the pack sets them.[4][5]
Client modules
All three client modules are set to true in this pack, so every feature is active out of the box.[4]
- modules.sortingmodule is true. This is the sorting feature itself.[4]
- modules.wheelmovemodule is true. This is the mouse wheel move feature.[4]
- modules.dodgemousetweaks is true. Its config comment says it avoids conflicts with Mouse Tweaks wheel moves.[4]
If you want to turn off sorting or wheel moves, set the matching module to false in the client config.[4]
Server blacklists
blacklists.containerBlacklist lists whole containers that the sorter will not touch. In this pack it covers entries from projecte (both condenser tiers), occultism (both ritual satchel tiers), mysticalagriculture (the harvester), bonsaitrees (the bonsai pot, listed twice), ftbstuff (the water strainer), titanium (the addon container), curios (the curios container), draconicevolution (the configurable item) and create (the toolbox).[5]
blacklists.slotBlacklist works at the level of individual slot types, which are given as Java class names. The pack lists many EnderIO machine, filter and ghost slots, plus several Sophisticated Core storage, filter and upgrade slots. It also includes a Create redstone requester slot and the productivebees advanced beehive.[5]
Unverified The sources only show the values this pack uses. They do not say which of them differ from the mod's own defaults, so we can't confirm whether the pack changed any of them.
