What is Farming for Blockheads?
Farming for Blockheads is part of the pack's mod list. This pack ships version 21.1.13 of the mod, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1.[1]
The mod has been in the pack since 1.21.0 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the setup and not a late addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have only confirm that the mod is installed and which version it is. They don't describe its features, recipes, config options, or where it fits in the pack's progression. This guide doesn't claim any of that. Check the in-game item tooltips and recipe viewer for the mod's items until more details are added. This site does hold FTB StoneBlock 4's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Farming for Blockheads?
3 parts
Farming for Blockheads gives you a few simple helpers for crops and animals. Here is what to make first in this pack, and why, in a sensible order.[2][3]
Start with fertilizers
Make the fertilizers first. Each one is a shaped crafting recipe, and the recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack versions.[2]
Green Fertilizer is the one to make if you want more food from your fields. Its tooltip says it increases crop output, and the mod has a setting for the chance of a bonus crop when you use it.[3]

Red Fertilizer gives a chance of bonus growth instead. The pack changed this recipe too, so check the block below before you gather materials.[2][3]

| any gold nugget | any gold nugget | |

Yellow Fertilizer uses the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any yellow dye | any yellow dye | any yellow dye |
| any gold nugget | any gold nugget | |
Recipe id: farmingforblockheads:yellow_fertilizer
Fertilized Farmland can turn back into regular Farmland, and the mod has a regression chance setting for that, applied per bonus provided. So treat fertilizer as something you reapply, not a one-time upgrade.[3]
The pack data also lists market entries for Green, Red and Yellow Fertilizer, so you can get them from the mod's market as well as crafting them.[2]
Chicken Nest for eggs
Once your crops are going, the Chicken Nest takes care of eggs. It collects eggs laid by chickens, and the mod has a range setting for how far away it picks up laid eggs.[2][3]

Feeding Trough for breeding
The Feeding Trough automatically feeds nearby animals that are ready to mate. It has a range setting, and another for the maximum number of animals per type before it stops feeding, so don't expect it to grow a herd without limit.[2][3]

How does Farming for Blockheads work?
4 parts
Farming for Blockheads in this pack is built around a few helper blocks, a set of fertilizers and a market. Here is how each part works.[2][3]
Chicken Nest
The Chicken Nest collects eggs laid by chickens. It picks up laid eggs within a configurable range, so your chickens don't have to be right on top of it.[2][3]

Feeding Trough
The Feeding Trough automatically feeds nearby animals that are ready to mate. Its range is configurable, and so is the maximum number of animals per type. Once that maximum is reached, the trough stops feeding.[2][3]

Fertilizers
Each fertilizer gives a different bonus. Green Fertilizer increases crop output, with a configurable chance to give a bonus crop. Red Fertilizer has a configurable chance to give a bonus growth.[3]
Fertilized Farmland doesn't last forever. For each bonus it provides, there is a configurable chance that it turns back into regular Farmland, so you will need to re-fertilize your fields from time to time.[3]
The pack changed the Green and Red Fertilizer recipes, so don't rely on the mod defaults you may remember from other packs. Yellow Fertilizer uses the mod's own recipe.[2]

The Market
You can also get fertilizer from the market instead of crafting it. The market entries for Green Fertilizer, Red Fertilizer and Yellow Fertilizer are shown below.[2]

What the market sells is controlled by groups. The built-in 'default' alias covers selling.seeds, selling.saplings and selling.fertilizers.minecraft. A separate excluded-groups list takes precedence over the included one, so an entry like selling.seeds can switch all seeds off. There are also settings to disable default presets, enable optional presets and choose the names merchants can have.[3]
One more setting treats merchants as babies, on a technical level only. It exists to help with exploits based on merchant death loot.[3]
Unverified The sources here include no config files for this mod in the pack, so the actual values for ranges, animal limits, fertilizer chances and which market presets are active are not shown.
How do you progress through Farming for Blockheads?
3 parts
This page sticks to what the pack's recipes show: what you can craft for Farming for Blockheads, and which of those recipes the pack changed.[2]
Animal setup: Chicken Nest and Feeding Trough
The Chicken Nest and the Feeding Trough both use the mod's own recipes. The pack leaves them unchanged, so what you see below is the stock mod recipe.[2]

Fertilizers
The fertilizers are Yellow Fertilizer, Green Fertilizer and Red Fertilizer. Yellow Fertilizer uses the mod's own crafting recipe.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any yellow dye | any yellow dye | any yellow dye |
| any gold nugget | any gold nugget | |
Recipe id: farmingforblockheads:yellow_fertilizer
The pack changed the crafting recipes for Green Fertilizer and Red Fertilizer, so don't rely on what you remember from the base mod. The recipes below are the ones that apply here.[2]

Market recipes
Each fertilizer also has a market recipe, and these are the mod's own, not changed by the pack. The recipe data lists no item inputs for them.[2]

Unverified The sources here do not show a quest chapter or an in-jar guidebook that places this mod in a tier order, so no official progression path is given. Check the quest book and the items in-game for that.
