What is Farming for Blockheads?
This pack ships Farming for Blockheads version 21.1.13, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1 (the file is farmingforblockheads-neoforge-1.21.1-21.1.13.jar). It has been in the pack since 1.0.0 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod does in this pack, so this overview doesn't list its features, recipes or settings. I'd rather leave that out than guess.
How do you get started with Farming for Blockheads?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
Farming for Blockheads gives you a few simple helpers for crops and animals. Here is what to make first in this pack, and why, in a sensible order.[2][3]
Start with fertilizers
Make the fertilizers first. Each one is a shaped crafting recipe, and the recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack versions.[2]
Green Fertilizer is the one to make if you want more food from your fields. Its tooltip says it increases crop output, and the mod has a setting for the chance of a bonus crop when you use it.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any green dye | any green dye | any green dye |
| any gold nugget | any gold nugget | |
Recipe id: farmingforblockheads:green_fertilizer
Red Fertilizer gives a chance of bonus growth instead. The pack changed this recipe too, so check the block below before you gather materials.[2][3]
Crafting Shaped
| any red dye | any red dye | any red dye |
| any gold nugget | any gold nugget | |
Recipe id: farmingforblockheads:red_fertilizer
Yellow Fertilizer uses the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any yellow dye | any yellow dye | any yellow dye |
| any gold nugget | any gold nugget | |
Recipe id: farmingforblockheads:yellow_fertilizer
Fertilized Farmland can turn back into regular Farmland, and the mod has a regression chance setting for that, applied per bonus provided. So treat fertilizer as something you reapply, not a one-time upgrade.[3]
The pack data also lists market entries for Green, Red and Yellow Fertilizer, so you can get them from the mod's market as well as crafting them.[2]
Chicken Nest for eggs
Once your crops are going, the Chicken Nest takes care of eggs. It collects eggs laid by chickens, and the mod has a range setting for how far away it picks up laid eggs.[2][3]
Crafting Shaped
| any plank | any plank |
Recipe id: farmingforblockheads:chicken_nest
Feeding Trough for breeding
The Feeding Trough automatically feeds nearby animals that are ready to mate. It has a range setting, and another for the maximum number of animals per type before it stops feeding, so don't expect it to grow a herd without limit.[2][3]

How does Farming for Blockheads work?
5 parts
Farming for Blockheads is a small mod. The sources for this pack show a Market, a Chicken Nest, a Feeding Trough and fertilizers. They don't describe any power, fluid or multiblock systems, or any hopper and pipe hookups, so I won't guess at them here.[3]
Chicken Nest
The Chicken Nest collects eggs laid by chickens. It picks up laid eggs that are within its range, so you don't have to chase them around the pen.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any plank | any plank |
Recipe id: farmingforblockheads:chicken_nest
Feeding Trough
The Feeding Trough auto-feeds nearby animals that are ready to mate, so it works as a hands-free breeding helper.[3]
It only feeds animals within its range. Once there are too many animals of one type, it stops feeding that type, so it won't breed your pen out of control.[3]

Fertilizers and fertilized farmland
The mod adds Green Fertilizer, Red Fertilizer and Yellow Fertilizer.[3]
- Green Fertilizer increases crop output. Using it gives you a chance of a bonus crop.[3]
- Red Fertilizer gives a chance of a bonus growth.[3]
- Fertilized Farmland can turn back into regular Farmland. That chance is rolled per bonus the farmland provides.[3]
Fertilized Farmland comes in these variants: healthy, rich, stable, healthy stable and rich stable. The mod groups them with tags for healthy, rich and stable farmland. If you break any of these blocks, you get plain dirt back, not the farmland itself.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]
Crafting the fertilizers
Each fertilizer craft makes 4 items. The pack changed the crafting recipes for Green Fertilizer and Red Fertilizer, so don't rely on the mod's defaults for those. Yellow Fertilizer uses the mod's own recipe. Here are the exact in-pack recipes:[13]

The Market and merchants
The Market is a tall block, and only its lower half drops the Market item when broken. The mod also has a Merchant entity. The Market screen shows your current selection and its cost.[3][14]
The Market also offers all three fertilizers through its own recipe type, and the recipe dump lists no item inputs for those entries. The sources don't show the prices.[13]
Unverified The ranges, animal limit, fertilizer chances and Market stock this pack uses are set in the mod's configuration, and the sources here do not show those values. Check them in game before planning a big setup.
How do you progress through Farming for Blockheads?
3 parts
Fertilizers
The mod's fertilizer line in this pack is Green Fertilizer, Red Fertilizer and Yellow Fertilizer. Each one has a normal crafting recipe, and the recipe list also has a Market entry for each of them.[13]
The pack changes the crafting recipes for Green and Red Fertilizer. Yellow Fertilizer uses the mod's own recipe. All of these crafting recipes make 4 fertilizer at a time.[13]

Fertilized farmland
The mod adds fertilized farmland blocks in these variants: stable, healthy, rich, healthy stable and rich stable. Block tags group them into families: healthy (healthy and healthy stable), rich (rich and rich stable) and stable (stable, healthy stable and rich stable).[9][10][11][12]
Whichever of these variants you break, it drops plain dirt, so you can't pick the fertilized block back up.[4][5][6][7][8]
Animal blocks
Two more crafted blocks round out the mod: the Chicken Nest and the Feeding Trough. Both use the mod's own recipes, and each drops itself when broken.[13][15][16]
