What is Ars Creo?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Ars Creo is an addon that links Ars Nouveau and Create. It requires Ars Nouveau, Create and their dependencies. If you like building Create contraptions and want Ars Nouveau spellcasting on them, this is the mod that makes it work.[1]
What it adds
- Starbuncle Wheel: generates SU from pure starbuncle energy.[1]
- Spell Turrets that can be used on Create Contraptions, so your moving builds can cast spells.[1]
- Timer Turrets: fire on an interval on a contraption.[1]
- Basic Spell Turret: fires when interacted with on a contraption.[1]
- Enhanced Spell Turret: fires per new block position.[1]
- Source Jars: can be part of a contraption and used by other turrets.[1]
The mod's page says more content is planned, including integrations with Ars Nouveau summons and support for additional Ars Nouveau blocks on contraptions. Those plans are not shown as part of this pack's version, so don't count on them.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Ars Creo 5.4.0 (ars_creo-1.21.1-5.4.0.jar). It was first included in version 4.0 or earlier.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not show a quest chapter, a quest group, or a place on the ATM Star path for Ars Creo, so where the pack's quest book puts this mod, and what comes before or after it, is unverified.
How do you get started with Ars Creo?
2 parts
Ars Creo is an addon for Ars Nouveau and Create, so it needs both of those mods and their dependencies. The project page lists what it currently adds and says more content is planned, but gives no details on that. The sources here don't give a crafting order for this mod, so this page covers the one block most players want first and what the pack sets for it.[1]
Start with the Starbuncle Wheel
The Starbuncle Wheel is the block to look at first. The project page lists it among what the mod currently adds, and describes it as generating SU from pure starbuncle energy.[1][3]
The pack leaves the wheel's settings at the mod defaults. You can change them in the config file for this mod:[4]
- wheelBaseSpeed is 16. This is the base speed of the wheel.[4]
- wheelMaxSpeed is 24. This is the speed of the wheel with a gold block in front of it.[4]
- wheelStressCapacity is 16. This is the stress capacity of the wheel.[4]
Turrets on contraptions
The project page says Spell Turrets can be used on Create contraptions. These are the behaviors it currently lists, with more content planned:[1]
- Timer Turrets currently fire on an interval on a contraption.[1]
- The Basic Spell Turret currently fires when it is interacted with on a contraption.[1]
- The Enhanced Spell Turret currently fires per new block position.[1]
- Source Jars can currently be part of a contraption and be used by other turrets.[1]
Unverified How to obtain or craft the Starbuncle Wheel and the turrets in this pack is not shown in the sources here, so there is no recipe block on this page. No quests in this pack cover the mod either.
How does Ars Creo work?
3 parts
Ars Creo is an addon that links Ars Nouveau and Create. It needs both mods, plus their dependencies. The sources here only describe it at a high level: its project page lists what it currently adds, and says more content is planned. So this section covers what that list confirms: the wheel that generates power, and the turrets and jars that work on Create contraptions.[1]
Starbuncle Wheel
The project page currently lists the Starbuncle Wheel as generating SU from pure starbuncle energy. More content is planned, but this is the power source the page names today.[1][3]
The options wheelBaseSpeed, wheelMaxSpeed and wheelStressCapacity control how the wheel behaves. Here is what each one does and what this pack sets:[4]
- wheelBaseSpeed is the base speed of the wheel. This pack sets it to 16.[4]
- wheelMaxSpeed is the wheel's speed with a gold block in front of it. This pack sets it to 24.[4]
- wheelStressCapacity is the stress capacity of the wheel. This pack sets it to 16.[4]
Every one of these values in this pack matches the mod default, so the pack has not changed the wheel's numbers. The speed options must be above 0.[4]
Turrets on contraptions
The project page currently lists spell turrets as usable on Create contraptions, with more additions planned. Each kind decides when the turret fires:[1]
- The page currently lists Timer Turrets as firing on an interval on a contraption.[1]
- The page currently lists the Basic Spell Turret as firing when it is interacted with on a contraption.[1]
- The page currently lists the Enhanced Spell Turret as firing per new block position.[1]
Source Jars
Source Jars can be part of a contraption, and the turrets on it can use them.[1]
The mod's page says more is planned, including integrations with Ars Nouveau summons and support for more Ars Nouveau blocks on contraptions. The sources here do not show whether any of that is in this pack.[1]
Which Ars Creo config options matter?
The config file for Ars Creo, config/ars_creo-common.toml, has options for the wheel's speed and stress capacity. This pack sets every option listed below to the mod default, so nothing here is a pack change.[1][4]
- wheelBaseSpeed is the base speed of the wheel. The pack sets it to 16, the same as the mod default. It must be above 0.[4]
- wheelMaxSpeed is the speed of the wheel with a gold block in front of it. The pack sets it to 24, the same as the mod default. It must be above 0.[4]
- wheelStressCapacity is the stress capacity of the wheel. The pack sets it to 16, the same as the mod default.[4]
The mod's project page describes the Starbuncle Wheel as the block that generates SU from pure starbuncle energy. These options are the ones the config file offers for tuning it.[1][4]
