What is Apothic Compats?
Apothic Compats is a mod in this pack, and the pack ships version 0.2.0.2 (file apothic_compats-0.2.0.2.jar). It has been in the pack since 1.0.0 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what Apothic Compats does, who it is meant for, or what it adds. I can't confirm any of its features, items, recipes or configs, so none are covered here. Going by the name alone would be a guess, and I won't present that as fact.
Unverified No quests in this pack are recorded as involving this mod, and it isn't on the ATM Star quest path. That means you don't need it to progress through the pack's quests. I couldn't find an in-jar guidebook or platform metadata for it either.
How do you get started with Apothic Compats?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
Good news first: there's nothing you need to craft to get going with Apothic Compats. The only material I could confirm for this mod is its tooltip text, and that text describes affixes, which are bonus properties on gear. It doesn't describe any items or recipes.[2]
What the mod adds
The mod's text entries define affixes for several weapon types: melee weapons, dart shooters, potato cannons, scythes and staffs. Most of them also have an ancient variant with the same description. So when you find gear with one of these affixes, check its tooltip.[2]
- Melee: Bloodied makes you deal more damage the lower your health is.[2]
- Dart shooters and potato cannons: Magical makes your darts deal magic damage.[2]
- Scythes and staffs: Cleaving gives your attacks a chance to also hit nearby enemies.[2]
- Scythes and staffs: Executing kills enemies that fall below a certain share of their max health.[2]
- Scythes and staffs: Festive gives slain enemies a chance to be a Loot Piñata.[2]
- Scythes and staffs: Thunderstruck makes your attacks deal damage to nearby enemies.[2]
What I couldn't confirm
Unverified I found no confirmed recipes, quests or guidebook entries for this mod in this pack, so I can't give you a first-items-to-craft order. Pack-specific values such as affix chances and thresholds are also unverified.
How does Apothic Compats work?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
Apothic Compats doesn't add machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation. The sources for this pack only show it adding compatibility affixes for certain weapon types, plus one startup setting for custom loot curios. So this section is short, and I'm only covering what the sources actually confirm.[2][3]
Weapon affixes
The mod's language file describes affixes for several weapon types: dart shooters, potato cannons, scythes, staves, and a general melee group. Each affix also has an ancient version with the same description text.[2]
- Magical (dart shooters and potato cannons): your darts deal magic damage.[2]
- Bloodied (melee): you deal more damage the lower your health is, up to a maximum bonus.[2]
- Cleaving (scythes and staves): attacks have a chance to also hit a limited number of nearby enemies.[2]
- Executing (scythes and staves): enemies below a certain percentage of their max health are executed.[2]
- Festive (scythes and staves): slain enemies have a chance to become a Loot Piñata.[2]
- Thunderstruck (scythes and staves): your attacks deal damage to nearby enemies.[2]
The descriptions only show placeholders for the actual percentages, damage amounts and enemy counts. Those values aren't confirmed by the sources, so check the in-game tooltip on a weapon that rolls one of these affixes.[2]
Custom loot curios
The mod has a startup option, Curios.enableCustomCurios, which controls whether custom loot curios are enabled. This pack sets it to false, so those curios are turned off here.[3]
Unverified How the affixes are obtained (loot, upgrading or crafting), and whether the mod has any other systems, can't be confirmed from the available sources. No recipes produce this mod's items.
Which Apothic Compats config options matter?
Good news: there's only one option to know about here. The pack's startup config for this mod, apothic_compats-startup.toml, contains a single setting.[4]
- Curios.enableCustomCurios is set to false in this pack. The file describes it as controlling whether custom loot curios are enabled, so in this pack they are turned off.[4]
Because it's a startup config, you'd normally need to restart the game for a change to take effect. If you edit it yourself, restart before testing.[4]
Unverified The sources don't say what the mod's default for this option is, so it's unconfirmed whether the pack changed it. The sources also don't say which specific curios or loot are affected.
