What is Just Dire Fuels?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.23.0 guide
This pack includes Just Dire Fuels 1.1.0. It has been in the pack since version 1.18.0 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources available for this guide don't describe what the mod's fuels do or how they are made, so this page doesn't go into mod features. Check the in-game item tooltips if you want to explore them yourself.
How do you get started with Just Dire Fuels?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 guide
There isn't much I can confirm about Just Dire Fuels in this pack yet, so this section is short on purpose. What I can verify is that the mod adds a JEI category called "Fluid Generator Fuels".[2]
Open JEI and look for that category. It's the mod's own page for fluid fuels used in generators, so it's the best place to start checking what you can burn.[2]
Unverified No in-pack recipes, quests or config options for this mod could be confirmed, so there is no verified list of first items to craft and no recipe blocks. Check the item recipes in JEI in your own game before planning a build around this mod. This site does hold FTB Skies 2: Aero's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Just Dire Fuels work?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.22.0 guide
Just Dire Fuels is a small add-on that adds new fuels for Just Dire Things generators. The sources for this pack only cover the fuel values, so this section sticks to those. They are set through data maps in the mod's own files.[3][4][5]
Fluid fuels
Fluid generators use a value called fe_per_mb, which is the amount of FE you get for each mB of fluid burned. The mod gives values to the tier 2, tier 3 and tier 4 refined fluids from Just Dire Things. Both the source and flowing forms of each fluid are listed with the same value. You can see them in JEI under the "Fluid Generator Fuels" category.[3][4]
- Refined tier 2 fluid: 450 FE per mB.[4]
- Refined tier 3 fluid: 1,300 FE per mB.[4]
- Refined tier 4 fluid: 4,000 FE per mB.[4]
Each tier is worth roughly three times the one before it, or more, so moving up a tier pays off a lot in power per mB.[4]
Item fuels
The mod also gives the tiered coals from Just Dire Things a burn_speed_multiplier. Each coal and its matching coal block share the same multiplier, and the multiplier doubles with every tier.[5]
- Tier 1: Primal Coal and Primal Coal Block have a multiplier of 2.[5]
- Tier 2: Blaze Ember and Blaze Ember Block have a multiplier of 4.[5]
- Tier 3: Voidflame Coal and Voidflame Coal Block have a multiplier of 8.[5]
- Tier 4: Eclipse Ember and Eclipse Ember Block have a multiplier of 16.[5]
Unverified The sources do not explain how the generators themselves work in this pack, such as their power output, fluid capacity, item and fluid automation, or what exactly the burn speed multiplier changes. No config files or recipes for this mod are available, so treat those details as unconfirmed.
How do you progress through Just Dire Fuels?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.22.0 guide
This mod ties burning speed and fluid fuel value to the tier of the fuel. The sources I have cover the fuel data only, so the path below is a tier breakdown, not a quest walkthrough.[4][5]
Solid fuels: burn speed by tier
Each tier of coal, and the matching coal block, gets a burn speed multiplier. It doubles with every tier, so climbing the tiers is a straight upgrade in how fast the fuel burns.[5]
- Tier 1: Primal Coal and Primal Coal Block have a burn speed multiplier of 2.[5]
- Tier 2: Blaze Ember and Blaze Ember Block have a burn speed multiplier of 4.[5]
- Tier 3: Voidflame Coal and Voidflame Coal Block have a burn speed multiplier of 8.[5]
- Tier 4: Eclipse Ember and Eclipse Ember Block have a burn speed multiplier of 16.[5]
Fluid fuels: energy by tier
Fluid fuels are rated in FE per mB. Only the refined fluids of tiers 2, 3 and 4 are listed, and both the source and flowing forms of each share the same value. Tier 1 has no fluid fuel entry.[4]
- Tier 2 refined fluid: 450 FE per mB.[4]
- Tier 3 refined fluid: 1,300 FE per mB.[4]
- Tier 4 refined fluid: 4,000 FE per mB.[4]
The jump from tier 3 to tier 4 is the biggest in raw FE per mB, so tier 4 fluid is the one to aim for if you want the most energy per bucket.[4]
Unverified The sources I have do not show how these fuels are crafted or obtained, so no recipes are given here.
