What is Crash Utilities?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.53 guide

This pack ships with Crash Utilities version 9.0.1, using the file crashutilities-9.0.1.jar. That is the version you get here, so check it against any other version's notes before you trust them.[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm from the available sources what Crash Utilities does, who it is meant for, or whether it adds items, blocks, recipes or config options. The pack has no quests that involve it, and no in-jar guidebook was found. I'm not describing its features rather than guessing.

Unverified Crash Utilities is not on the ATM Star quest path, and nothing in the sources places it in the pack's progression. Treat it as a mod you don't need to plan around.

How do you get started with Crash Utilities?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

There's no crafting chain to follow with Crash Utilities in this pack, so there's no list of first items to make. The only thing confirmed for this mod is a single text entry that labels a feature "Show Slot Index Tooltips".[2]

From the name, it's a tooltip option that shows slot index information. The text entry doesn't say where you toggle it, what its default is, or exactly what it displays, so I won't guess at those.[2]

Unverified No recipes, quests, config options or guidebook for Crash Utilities could be confirmed for this pack, so there are no recipe steps or quest pointers to give here. Check the in-game settings or the mod's own documentation to see how the slot index tooltips are switched on.

How does Crash Utilities work?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.53 guide

The only thing the available sources tell us about Crash Utilities is one line from its English language file: an option labelled "Show Slot Index Tooltips". Going by that label, the mod can show slot index numbers in tooltips. That is a utility feature, not a machine or a multiblock.[2]

The sources don't say where that option lives, what its default is or how to switch it on, so check in game before relying on it.[2]

Unverified Nothing is confirmed about machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling, or automation for Crash Utilities in this pack. There is no guidebook, documentation or config file to check, and no recipes produce this mod's items, so none of those systems are described here.

Which Crash Utilities config options matter?

3 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Crash Utilities has one server config in this pack, and the main thing to know is that every feature is switched off. The pack ships the Item Clear, Memory Checker and FTB Chunks purge features all disabled. Nothing runs until someone turns it on.[3]

Item Clear

Item Clear removes every loaded item when too many are lying around. [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.enabled]] is false in this pack. If you enable it, the mod checks every [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.timer]] minutes and clears everything when the item count goes above [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.maximum]]. The pack sets the timer to 30 and the maximum to 1,000, and both match the mod defaults. The timer accepts values from 0 to 1,440.[3]

  • [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.warnings]] is "5,20". That is a comma-separated list of chat warning times in seconds.[3]
  • [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.warningtext]] is "ITEMCLEAR IN % SECONDS". The first % is replaced by the countdown value.[3]
  • [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.title]] is true, so a title command runs on the first warning. [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.titletext]] is "ITEMCLEAR INCOMING!".[3]

Memory Checker

[[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Memory Checker.enabled]] is false here. When on, it logs the memory in use, adds a command to read the last logged values, and writes a log warning when a lot of memory is used in a short time. The pack keeps [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Memory Checker.threshold]] at 1000 MB and [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Memory Checker.timer]] at 30 seconds, both the mod defaults.[3]

[[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Memory Checker.heapdump]] is also false. If you turn it on, the mod runs /spark heapdump the first time memory fills past 95 %, then sets the option back to false.[3]

FTB Chunks purge

[[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Ftb Chunks.enabled]] is false. When enabled, it unloads the loaded chunks of players who have not been online for [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Ftb Chunks.days]] days. The pack leaves that at the default of 7. This affects loaded chunks, not claimed ones, and it relies on the modify date of the player data file.[3]

Tip: The source does not say whether the pack changed any of the enabled toggles from the mod default. The only values confirmed as matching the mod default are the numeric ones above.[3]

"From pack files" means the list came from the pack's own files; "from the published release" means ForgeBase read the jars of the release itself.

Items and blocks

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as crashutilities, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
