What is Crash Utilities?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.53 guide
This pack ships with Crash Utilities version 9.0.1, using the file crashutilities-9.0.1.jar. That is the version you get here, so check it against any other version's notes before you trust them.[1]
Unverified I couldn't confirm from the available sources what Crash Utilities does, who it is meant for, or whether it adds items, blocks, recipes or config options. The pack has no quests that involve it, and no in-jar guidebook was found. I'm not describing its features rather than guessing.
Unverified Crash Utilities is not on the ATM Star quest path, and nothing in the sources places it in the pack's progression. Treat it as a mod you don't need to plan around.
How do you get started with Crash Utilities?
2 parts
Crash Utilities is a bit different from most mods we cover. The sources I have for it in this pack show no crafting steps for you to follow, so there is no item order to give you. What the pack does set is the server config, so that's where your first steps are.[2]
Unverified The sources here show no recipes and no quests involving Crash Utilities in this pack, so there are no recipe blocks in this section.
What is running out of the box
The big one is the automatic item clear. It is switched on with [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.enabled]]. Every so often the mod checks how many items are loaded, and if there are more than the limit, it does a clear. The config describes this as removing all items, so keep an eye on loose items in a busy area.[2]
- The check runs every 5 minutes. The pack changed [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.timer]] from the mod default of 30.[2]
- The clear triggers above 1,000 items, set by [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.maximum]]. That matches the mod default.[2]
- You get chat warnings at 5 and 20 seconds, from [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.warnings]]. The message reads "ITEMCLEAR IN % SECONDS", with the number filled in for the %.[2]
- A title reading "ITEMCLEAR INCOMING!" shows on the first warning. This is controlled by [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.title]] and [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.titletext]].[2]
What is switched off
The other features are disabled in this pack. The memory checker, set by [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Memory Checker.enabled]], is off. If you turn it on, it logs a warning when memory use passes the threshold, which is 1,000 MB by default and in this pack. It saves a reading every 30 seconds. The automatic heap dump option, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Memory Checker.heapdump]], is also off.[2]
The FTB Chunks purge, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Ftb Chunks.enabled]], is off too. If you enabled it, it would unload loaded chunks (not claimed ones) for players who have not been online for 7 days, a value set by [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Ftb Chunks.days]]. That count relies on the modify date of the player data file.[2]
How does Crash Utilities work?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.53 guide
The only thing the available sources tell us about Crash Utilities is one line from its English language file: an option labelled "Show Slot Index Tooltips". Going by that label, the mod can show slot index numbers in tooltips. That is a utility feature, not a machine or a multiblock.[3]
The sources don't say where that option lives, what its default is or how to switch it on, so check in game before relying on it.[3]
Unverified Nothing is confirmed about machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling, or automation for Crash Utilities in this pack. There is no guidebook, documentation or config file to check, and no recipes produce this mod's items, so none of those systems are described here.
Which Crash Utilities config options matter?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Crash Utilities keeps its settings in one server config file. As the pack's config file stands, item clearing is switched on, while the memory checker and the FTB Chunks purge are both switched off.[4]
Item Clear (on)
With [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.enabled]] set to true, the config describes a check, run every set number of minutes, of how many items are loaded. If there are more than the maximum, it removes all items. The config notes say settings are reloaded when the world reloads.[4]
- In the pack's config file, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.timer]] is 5, so the check runs every 5 minutes. The allowed range is 0 to 1440.[4]
- In the pack's config file, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.maximum]] is 1000. The config says a clear happens when there are more than that many items.[4]
- In the pack's config file, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.warnings]] is "5,20". The config describes these as chat warnings, given in seconds.[4]
- In the pack's config file, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.warningtext]] is "ITEMCLEAR IN % SECONDS". The config says the first % is replaced by the value.[4]
- In the pack's config file, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.title]] is true, which the config describes as running a title command on the first warning. [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Item Clear.titletext]] is "ITEMCLEAR INCOMING!".[4]
Memory Checker (off)
[[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Memory Checker.enabled]] is false in this pack. If you turn it on, it reads the memory currently in use. It adds a command that shows the last logged memory values, and it writes a log warning when a lot of memory is used in a short time.[4]
- In the pack's config file, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Memory Checker.threshold]] is 1000. The config describes this as the level in MB at which a warning goes to the log.[4]
- In the pack's config file, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Memory Checker.timer]] is 30. The config describes this as the time in seconds between the memory checks that are saved for display.[4]
- In the pack's config file, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Memory Checker.heapdump]] is false. The config says that if enabled, it runs /spark heapdump the first time memory fills past 95 %, and the value is then set to false.[4]
FTB Chunks purge (off)
In the pack's config file, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Ftb Chunks.enabled]] is false, which the config describes as the automatic purge being off. When enabled with FTB Chunks installed, it is meant for people who have not been online for some amount of days, and it applies to loaded chunks, not claimed ones.[4]
In the pack's config file, [[config:config/crashutilities-server.toml#Ftb Chunks.days]] is 7. The config warns that this relies on the modify date of the player data file.[4]

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as crashutilities, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
