What is Applied Construction Sticks?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Applied Construction Sticks is a small bridge mod that lets Construction Sticks pull building blocks from your AE2 (Applied Energistics 2) network instead of your inventory. If you already have an ME system storing your building materials, this saves you from carrying stacks of blocks around.[1]

How you use it

Connecting a stick is simple: place the Construction Stick inside an ME Wireless Access Point. Once it's in there, the stick uses blocks from your ME network rather than from your inventory.[1]

You can tell it's working by the placement lines. They turn blue when the stick is drawing from your AE2 network.[1]

Who it's for

It's aimed at players who have set up AE2 and want to build big without constantly restocking. The more materials your network holds, the more it pays off.[1]

In this pack

The pack ships Applied Construction Sticks version 2.0.4.[2]

Unverified Where this mod fits in the pack's progression is unconfirmed. The available sources don't show any quests for it, don't place it on the ATM Star path, and no in-jar guidebook was found. Nothing here indicates the pack changes its recipes or configs.

How do you get started with Applied Construction Sticks?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Applied Construction Sticks lets Construction Sticks pull building blocks from your AE2 network instead of your inventory. Once your network is running, setup takes only one step.[1]

Connecting a stick to your network

  1. Get an ME Wireless Access Point running on your AE2 network.[1]
  2. Place your Construction Stick inside the Wireless Access Point. This is what links the stick to the network.[1][3]
  3. Start building. The stick now uses blocks from your ME network instead of your inventory.[1]
Tip: Check the lines the stick draws. They turn blue when it is using items from your AE2 network. If they aren't blue, the stick isn't linked yet.[1]
Tip: A stick that isn't linked shows a tooltip saying it can be connected to an AE2 network by placing it inside a Wireless Access Point.[3]

Unverified This mod has no quests in this pack and adds no recipes of its own, so there is nothing to craft for it. How to obtain a Construction Stick in this pack is not confirmed by the available sources, so there is no recipe block here.

How does Applied Construction Sticks work?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Applied Construction Sticks is a small bridge mod. It lets Construction Sticks take their building blocks from an AE2 network instead of from your inventory.[1]

Linking a stick to your network

There's no special machine or multiblock to build. To connect a Construction Stick, place it inside an ME Wireless Access Point. Once it's linked, the stick uses blocks from your ME network instead of your inventory.[1][3]

A stick that hasn't been linked shows a tooltip telling you it can be connected to an AE2 network by placing it inside a Wireless Access Point.[3]

Tip: Look at the placement preview lines. They turn blue when the stick is pulling from your AE2 network, so you can tell at a glance that the link is working.[1]

What the sources don't cover

The mod's own description is all about item sourcing. It says nothing about power use, fluids or other automation, so don't assume the stick adds any of those.[1][3]

Unverified This pack has no config files for this mod and no recipes that produce its items. Wireless range, power draw and how the stick handles items missing from the network are not documented in the available sources.

What changed in Applied Construction Sticks between versions?

FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Applied Construction Sticks 1.2.1 (the file is appliedsticks-1.21.1-1.2.1.jar). The mod has been in the pack since Aero 1.0.3 or earlier, so it has been part of the modpack for a long time.[4]

The mod has changelogs for 1.2.0 and 1.2.1, but both only point to the author's Discord and the changelog file on GitHub for updates and support. They don't list individual changes.[5][6]

Unverified What changed between 1.2.0 and 1.2.1, and whether the pack changed any recipes or values for this mod in a given release, can't be confirmed from the available changelogs.

Items and blocks

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as appliedsticks, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
