What is RightClickHarvest?
4 parts
RightClickHarvest does one job: you right click a mature crop and it harvests it, and the seeds are replanted automatically. No more breaking and replanting by hand, which is a big time saver once your farms get large.[1]
This pack ships RightClickHarvest 4.6.1+1.21.1, the NeoForge build.[2]
What it covers
- All vanilla crops work, including cocoa beans, cactus and sugar cane.[1]
- Enchanting your hoe with Fortune gives you a higher yield.[1]
- The mod says it harvests 99.9% of modded crops without extra configuration, so most farming from other mods should work as is.[1]
Who it is for
It is for anyone who farms regularly. That includes early game players who want quick, low-effort harvests and later players who run big crop setups and want to cut the clicking.[1]
Options worth knowing
The mod can be configured to require a hoe, to let higher tier hoes harvest in a larger radius, to charge hunger for harvesting, and to consume or reward XP. The mod's own defaults are no hoe required, radius harvesting on, and no hunger or XP cost. These are the mod's defaults. The sources I have do not show whether this pack changes any of them, so check the config in your own instance.[1]
Multiplayer notes
The mod must be installed on the server. Installing it on the client is optional. On a server, the config file is config/rightclickharvest.json5. It requires Architectury API and JamLib.[1]
Unverified No quest or ATM Star path involvement for RightClickHarvest could be confirmed from the sources, so its place in this pack's progression is not documented here.
How do you get started with RightClickHarvest?
2 parts
Good news: there is nothing to craft first. RightClickHarvest works on the crops you already grow. You right click a mature crop, it harvests, and the seeds are replanted for you.[1]
Your first steps
- Plant a crop and wait until it is fully grown, then right click it. The mod handles all vanilla crops, including cocoa beans, cactus and sugar cane, and the project page says it harvests 99.9% of modded crops without extra configuration.[1]
- If nothing happens, check whether you are holding a hoe. The mod has an option that only allows harvesting certain crops, such as wheat and carrots, while a hoe is in your hand. The project page names this as the most common reason the mod seems broken.[1][3]
- If you use a hoe, enchant it with fortune for a higher yield.[1]
- Try hoes of different tiers. The mod has an option to let hoes of different tiers harvest multiple blocks in a radius, and the project page says the radius grows as the hoe's tier increases.[1][3]
Options worth knowing about
The mod has a handful of settings. You can choose whether a hoe is required, whether higher tier hoes harvest a bigger area, how much hunger harvesting costs, and whether XP is taken or given for harvesting. There is also a switch for the warning shown when you join a server that lacks the mod.[1][3]
How does RightClickHarvest work?
3 parts
RightClickHarvest has no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item pipes. It is a single-purpose quality-of-life mod: you right click a mature crop, you harvest it, and the seeds are replanted automatically. Everything else is a handful of config options that change how that click behaves.[1]
What a right click does
The mod covers all vanilla crops, including cocoa beans, cactus and sugar cane. It also handles 99.9% of modded crops without extra configuration. If your hoe is enchanted with Fortune, you get a higher yield.[1]
The mod must be installed on the server. Installing it on the client is optional. If you join a server without it, harvesting will not work. It depends on Architectury API and JamLib.[1]
How this pack configures it
The pack ships its own config/rightclickharvest.json5. Here is what each option does and what the pack sets it to.[3][4]
- requireHoe is false in the pack. Crops like wheat and carrots can be harvested with an empty hand, because the option only demands a hoe when it is true. If the mod ever seems broken for you, check this option first, since a hoe requirement is the most common cause.[1][3][4]
- harvestInRadius is false in the pack. The mod's default is true, where higher-tier hoes harvest several blocks in a radius. The pack turns that off, so each click harvests a single crop.[1][3][4]
- experienceType is NONE in the pack. This option decides whether XP is taken or given for harvesting, so with NONE it does neither.[3][4]
- hungerLevel is NORMAL in the pack. It controls the food usage when harvesting crops.[3][4]
- showServerWarning is false in the pack. The mod's default is true, which shows a warning when you connect to a server that does not have the mod installed. The pack switches that warning off.[1][3][4]
- hasUserBeenWarnedForNotUsingHoe is false in the pack. The sources give no description of this option.[4]
Editing the config and tags
On a server, edit config/rightclickharvest.json5 directly. The mod also has block and item tags for customising its behaviour, but the sources here do not list which tags exist, so check the mod's own documentation if you want to go further.[1]
No recipes produce items from this mod, so there is nothing to craft. Your hoe and your Fortune enchantment are the only tools you need.[1]
Which RightClickHarvest config options matter?
3 parts
RightClickHarvest has only a handful of options, and they all live in config/rightclickharvest.json5. On a server, that's the file you edit. The pack changes a couple of them from the mod's defaults, so here is exactly how it sets them.[1][4]
Values this pack changed
- harvestInRadius is false in the pack. The mod's default is true, which lets higher tier hoes harvest a bigger area. In the pack, that radius scaling is switched off.[1][4]
- showServerWarning is false in the pack. The mod's default is true, which shows a warning when you connect to a server that doesn't have RightClickHarvest installed. The pack turns that warning off.[1][4]
Values that match the mod's defaults
- requireHoe is false, the same as the mod default. You don't need to hold a hoe to harvest crops.[1][4]
- experienceType is set to NONE, which matches the mod's default of none. This option decides whether harvesting consumes or rewards XP.[1][4]
Hunger
hungerLevel is set to NORMAL in the pack. The mod page lists its default as none, and the option controls the amount of hunger required when harvesting.[1][4]
