What is Enderman Overhaul?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Enderman Overhaul reworks the endermen you already know. It adds over 20 new enderman variants, and each one has its own sounds, models and animations. Endermen stop being one repeated mob and start feeling tied to where you find them.[1]

It also overhauls the ender pearl with 8 new variations. Each one drops from a specific enderman variant, so hunting the right variant is how you get the right pearl.[1]

The 8 new pearls

  • Soul pearl: dropped by the soulsand valley enderman. You can bind it to mobs to teleport them remotely.[1]
  • Summoner pearl: dropped by the swamp and end islands endermen. It teleports all nearby mobs to one point.[1]
  • Corrupted pearl: dropped by the end enderman. It randomly teleports enemies it hits.[1]
  • Bubble pearl: dropped by the ocean enderman. It floats slowly through the air without being affected by gravity.[1]
  • Warped pearl: dropped by the warped enderman. It gives you resistance when you land.[1]
  • Crimson pearl: dropped by the crimson enderman. It gives you strength when you land.[1]
  • Icy pearl: dropped by the ice spikes enderman. It freezes nearby enemies when it lands.[1]
  • Ancient pearl: dropped by the end islands enderman. It summons pet endermen that fight for you, and you can recall them by right clicking.[1]

In this pack

The pack includes Enderman Overhaul 2.0.3, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1.[2]

Unverified The sources I have don't show any quests, ATM Star path steps, or pack-specific recipe or config changes for this mod, so I can't say where it fits in the pack's progression. Treat the pearl effects above as the mod's own description, not as confirmed pack values.

How do you get started with Enderman Overhaul?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Enderman Overhaul adds over 20 new enderman variants, each with its own sounds, models and animations. The mod describes them as biome-specific, so which enderman you meet depends on where you are. The two crafted items below are the ones with recipes in this pack, so they are the place to start.[1][3]

Step 1: Make the Corrupted Blade

Your first craft is the Corrupted Blade. Its tooltip says it teleports targets randomly. The recipe below is the exact one in this pack, and it is the mod's own recipe, unchanged.[3][4]

Step 2: Make the Corrupted Shield

Next comes the Corrupted Shield, whose tooltip says it teleports attackers randomly. The pack changed this recipe from the mod's version, so follow the block below rather than any recipe you remember from outside the pack.[3][4]

Ender pearls to look out for

The mod also adds 8 new ender pearl variations, each dropped by a specific enderman. The ocean enderman drops the Bubble pearl, an accurate pearl with no gravity. The ice spikes enderman drops the Icy pearl, which freezes nearby targets on hit. The crimson and warped endermen drop pearls that apply Strength II and Resistance II when teleporting.[1][3]

Tip: The mod's hood is described as letting you look at endermen without angering them, which is handy when you are tracking down a variant.[3]

How does Enderman Overhaul work?

3 parts

Enderman Overhaul is a mob and ender pearl mod rather than a tech mod. It adds biome-specific endermen, new pearls and a few teleport-themed pieces of gear, so this section covers how those behave.[1][5]

Enderman variants

The mod adds over 20 new enderman variants, each with its own sounds, models and animations. Names in the mod's language file include the Cave, Coral, Desert, Swamp, Snowy, Savanna, Badlands, Warped Forest and Crimson Forest endermen, plus End and End Islands versions. It also has Pet Endermen, a Scarab and a Spirit.[1][5]

This pack's own script adds every one of those biome endermen to the ftbchunks:entity_mob_griefing_blacklist entity tag.[6]

The pearls

The mod overhauls the ender pearl with 8 new variations. Each one has a different on-hit or on-teleport effect:[1]

  • Soul Pearl: crouch-right-click to bind an entity, then the bound entity is teleported to the target location. The project page says it drops from the soulsand valley enderman.[1][5]
  • Summoner Pearl: teleports nearby targets on hit. The project page lists the swamp and end islands endermen as its drop source.[1][5]
  • Corrupted Pearl: teleports targets to a random location. The project page says it drops from the end enderman.[1][5]
  • Bubble Pearl: an accurate ender pearl with no gravity, so it floats through the air slowly.[1][5]
  • Warped Pearl: applies Resistance II when teleporting.[5]
  • Crimson Pearl: applies Strength II when teleporting.[5]
  • Icy Pearl: freezes nearby targets on hit. The project page says it drops from the ice spikes enderman.[1][5]
  • Ancient Pearl: summons a friendly enderman to fight for you. Crouch-right-click a summoned enderman to retrieve the pearl.[1][5]

Gear

The Corrupted Blade teleports the targets you hit randomly. The Corrupted Shield does the same to whatever attacks you. Both are crafted using an Enderman Tooth.[5][7]

The mod also has hoods, including Badlands, Savanna and Snowy versions. Wearing one lets you look at endermen without angering them.[5]

How do you progress through Enderman Overhaul?

2 parts

The recipe dump for this pack shows two crafted items from Enderman Overhaul: the Corrupted Blade and the Corrupted Shield. That is all the sources here confirm for this mod's gear, so there is no tier ladder to lay out.[7]

The gear you can craft

The Corrupted Blade uses the mod's own recipe, which the pack leaves as it is.[7]

The Corrupted Shield is different: the pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Use the one below.[7]

Enderman variants and claimed chunks

The pack's own entity tag script adds the mod's enderman variants to the FTB Chunks tag named entity_mob_griefing_blacklist. The list covers the badlands, cave, coral, crimson forest, dark oak, desert, end, end islands, flower fields, ice spikes, mushroom fields, nether wastes, savanna, snowy, swamp, soul sand valley, warped forest and windswept hills endermen.[6]
