What is AntiBlocksReChiseled?

1 part

AntiBlocksReChiseled is a decoration mod. It brings back the Antiblocks from Chisel, now with new colors. If you build bases, towers or sky islands and want clean, glowing blocks, this is the mod for you.[1]

The main thing to know is that these blocks use full bright and emit light level 15. They light up the area around them like the strongest light sources, so you can use them as both a building material and a lamp.[1]

Tip: The mod is not a fork of Chisel or of other Antiblock-style mods. Don't expect Chisel's features or other Antiblock mods' blocks to come with it.[1]

Version and connected textures

This pack ships AntiBlocksReChiseled 0.10.8, in the NeoForge build of the mod.[2]

The mod page says that from 1.20.1 onward every loader has connected-texture (CTM) support through Fusion. That support comes from Fusion, so the textures only connect when Fusion is installed.[1]

Unverified The sources don't confirm whether Fusion is installed in this pack, or where this mod fits in the pack's progression. Treat both as unverified.

How do you get started with AntiBlocksReChiseled?

4 parts

AntiBlocksReChiseled brings back the AntiBlocks from Chisel in new colors. They are full bright and emit light level 15, so they work well as clean, bright building blocks and as lighting. The mod is not a fork of Chisel or of other AntiBlock mods.[1]

Make the Bright White AntiBlock first

Everything in this mod starts from Bright White AntiBlock. The other colors in the recipe list are made from it, so make this one first.[3]

Pick your colors

Each color is a shapeless recipe that combines a Bright White AntiBlock with a dye. The recipe list shows black, blue, cyan, green, magenta, orange, red and yellow. Here is Bright Blue as an example, and Bright Black AntiBlock and the rest follow the same pattern.[3]

Bright Blue is made from the white block, and the other colors use the same pattern.

Bordered versions

Bordered variants, like Bright Blue Bordered AntiBlock, are crafted from the matching full-color block. Their recipe ids start with full_to_border. The bordered recipes shown in the recipe list cover black, blue, cyan, green, magenta and orange.[3]

Slabs, stairs, buttons and plates

Black, blue, cyan, green, magenta, orange, red, white and yellow all have slab, stair, button and pressure plate recipes. For Bright Blue, that gives you Bright Blue AntiBlock Slab, Bright Blue AntiBlock Stair, Bright Blue AntiBlock Button and Bright Blue AntiBlock Pressure Plate.[3]

Tip: Because the blocks emit light level 15, you can use them for glowing floors, walls or ceilings instead of placing torches.[1]

How does AntiBlocksReChiseled work?

3 parts

AntiBlocksReChiseled readds the Antiblocks from Chisel with new colors. The sources here describe no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation for it, so there is nothing to set up or wire together in this section.[1]

What the blocks do

The defining trait of the mod is that its blocks use full bright and emit light level 15. That makes an AntiBlock a light source as well as a building block.[1]

The project page also says this is not a fork of Chisel or of other Antiblock-type mods. You get the Antiblock look from Chisel, but it is a separate mod.[1]

Crafting the colors and shapes

In this pack, Bright White AntiBlock is the base for recoloring. Other colors, such as Bright Black AntiBlock, are made with shapeless recipes that combine it with a matching vanilla dye.[3]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: antiblocksrechiseled:bright_black

The other colors in the recipe list follow the same pattern with their own dye.

Each colored block can then be turned into slab, stair, button and pressure plate variants. The recipe list shows these for black, blue, cyan, green and magenta. Slabs, stairs and pressure plates use shaped recipes, while buttons are shapeless.[3]

The same set exists for Bright Blue AntiBlock, Bright Cyan AntiBlock, Bright Green AntiBlock and Bright Magenta AntiBlock, for example Bright Blue AntiBlock Slab and Bright Magenta AntiBlock Stair. Bright Orange AntiBlock also has a recipe made from the white block and a dye.[3]

Connected textures

The project page says that as of 1.20.1+, all loaders have connected texture support through the Fusion mod.[1]

How do you progress through AntiBlocksReChiseled?

4 parts

In this pack, AntiBlocksReChiseled comes down to a short crafting chain: one base block, then recolors, then shaped variants and bordered versions. There are no tiers to unlock, just a handful of steps.[3]

Unverified No quests in this pack involve this mod, so the quest book does not guide you through it. The crafting chain below comes from the pack's recipes only.

The crafting chain

  1. Start with Bright White AntiBlock. It is the root of the Bright colour family, and the other Bright colours are all made from it.[3]
  2. Recolor it with a dye. The other Bright colours are Black, Blue, Cyan, Green, Magenta, Orange, Red and Yellow, and each one is made from Bright White plus the matching dye.[3]
  3. Turn any Bright block into its button, pressure plate, slab or stair. For example, Bright Red AntiBlock gives you Bright Red AntiBlock Button, Bright Red AntiBlock Pressure Plate, Bright Red AntiBlock Slab and Bright Red AntiBlock Stair.[3]
  4. Make the bordered version of a full block, such as Bright Red Bordered AntiBlock, with a dedicated full-to-border recipe.[3]

Bordered blocks

Bordered blocks are made from the matching full block. This works for the Bright colours and for the Wool colours, for example Wool Blue Bordered AntiBlock from Wool Blue AntiBlock.[3]

What changed in AntiBlocksReChiseled between versions?

1 part

FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 ships AntiBlocksReChiseled 0.10.8, and the mod has been in the pack since FTB Skies 2 1.0.1 or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first.[2]

Mod changelog highlights

  • 0.10.8 (1.21.x, the version in this pack): adds a down port of Klingon (Star Trek: the Klingon Empire) from 1.21.9/10.[2][4]
  • 0.10.6 (1.21 and 1.21.1): reverts to 10.4, lowers the main textures from 128 to 64, and lowers Fusion from 1028 to 512. CTM support is removed.[5]
  • 0.10.6 also adds English (Upside Down), Pirate Speak (The Seven Seas), LOLCAT (Kingdom of Cats) and Magyar HU, the last one thanks to bayi.[5]
  • 0.10.5 (1.21 and 1.21.1, marked Deprecated): Full Colors are now 1x. Border Blocks use one 128x texture and the full color block, and Fusion also uses 1 texture. CTM support is removed here too.[6]
  • 0.10.4: adds more tags.[7]
Tip: The 0.10.5 release is marked Deprecated, and 0.10.6 reverts to 10.4. Both releases remove CTM support, so keep that in mind when reading older notes about the texture changes.[5][6]

Unverified The sources here show no pack changelog entries for AntiBlocksReChiseled, so changes made to it between individual FTB Skies 2 releases are not covered in this section.
