What is Advanced Loot Info (ALI)?
3 parts
Advanced Loot Info, or ALI for short, is a plugin for your recipe viewer that shows advanced information about loot tables and villager trades. Instead of guessing what a mob, chest or block can drop, you can look it up and see the details laid out clearly.[1]
It isn't a standalone mod. It needs one of three supported recipe viewers: Just Enough Items (JEI), EMI or Roughly Enough Items (REI). Without one of those installed, ALI has nothing to plug into.[1]
Who it's for
ALI is for anyone who wants to know where an item comes from without trial and error. If you're hunting for a drop or checking what a villager can trade, this is the mod that answers it inside your recipe viewer.[1]
It also supports LootJS out of the box.[1]
Extra support for other mods
ALI has plugin support, so other mods can add their own custom loot entries, loot conditions and loot functions to its display. It can also work with custom number providers. Plugins can create custom categories too, though right now that is only possible from the Gameplay loot category.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Advanced Loot Info version 1.21.1-1.3.7 for NeoForge. It has been included since version 1.0.1 or earlier.[2]
How do you get started with Advanced Loot Info (ALI)?
3 parts
Good news: there's nothing to craft or build to get going with Advanced Loot Info. It isn't a standalone mod. It's a plugin that adds loot table and villager trade information to a recipe viewer, so you use it through the viewer you already have open.[1]
What you need first
The mod works with one of three recipe viewers: Just Enough Items (JEI), EMI, or Roughly Enough Items (REI). Open whichever one the pack gives you and look for the loot categories it adds.[1]
What you'll see
- Loot tables are shown in a clear layout, and the mod can also show villager trades.[1]
- Loot entries are split by section headers. One header reads Predicates, which covers the loot conditions, and another reads Modifiers, which covers the loot functions.[3]
- There's a dedicated category called Hero of the Village Loot. In EMI it appears as a recipe category under that name.[3]
- LootJS is supported out of the box, so loot changes made through it can show up in the display too.[1]
Your first steps
- Open your recipe viewer (JEI, EMI, or REI).[1]
- Browse the loot categories the mod adds, including Hero of the Village Loot if you're curious what villagers hand out.[1][3]
- Read the Predicates section to see the conditions a drop depends on, then the Modifiers section to see how the drop gets changed.[3]
Unverified I couldn't confirm any in-pack recipes, quests, or config options for this mod, so there are no crafting steps or quest chains to follow here. Treat it purely as an information tool.
How does Advanced Loot Info (ALI) work?
2 parts
Advanced Loot Info (Advanced Loot Info (ALI)) is not a machine mod. Its project page describes it as a plugin for recipe viewers that displays advanced information about loot tables and villager trades. So there are no multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation to learn here. What you get is a clearer view of how loot works.[1]
What ALI does instead
ALI shows loot information in a clear way inside your recipe viewer. It isn't a standalone mod. It needs one of three supported recipe viewers to run.[1]
- Supported recipe viewers: Just Enough Items (JEI), EMI and Roughly Enough Items (REI).[1]
- LootJS is supported out of the box.[1]
- Other mods can add plugins to display custom loot entries, custom loot conditions and custom loot functions, and to work with custom number providers.[1]
- Plugins can also create custom categories. Right now this only works from the Gameplay loot category.[1]
How the information is laid out
The mod's language file shows that loot details are split into labeled parts: a Predicates section for conditions and a Modifiers section for functions. It also defines an EMI category called Hero of the Village Loot.[3]
Unverified The sources here show no config files and no recipes for this mod in the pack, so any pack-specific settings or crafting for ALI are not confirmed.
