What is Weather Gate?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.23.0 guide
Weather Gate is part of this pack in version 2.0.0, shipped as the file weathergate-neo-2.0.0+mc1.21.1.jar. It has been in the pack since version 1.0.1 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]
Unverified What Weather Gate does in this pack, including its items, recipes and settings, could not be confirmed from the sources available for this guide, so this overview does not describe its mechanics.
How do you get started with Weather Gate?
3 parts
Weather Gate adds the Snow Catcher and the Terrain Controller as craftable items in this pack. Both use a shaped crafting recipe, so you can make either one as soon as you have the materials.[2][3]
Snow Catcher
Crafting Shaped

Terrain Controller

| Grass Block | Grass Block | Grass Block |
Recipe id: weathergate:teriann_controller
The in-pack shaped recipe for the Terrain Controller. The recipe id is spelled teriann_controller, but it makes the Terrain Controller.
If a placed Terrain Controller shows the message "No Data Found! Replace Block and Try Again!", do what it says: break the block, place it again and retry.[3]
What the mod can change
The mod's own text describes settings for the look of the world. These include sky light color, cloud color, cloud height, fog colors and distances, and the sun, moon and star angles. There are also tint overrides for grass, foliage and water.[3]
How does Weather Gate work?
3 parts
Weather Gate adds the Snow Catcher and the Terrain Controller blocks to the pack. The sources here are thin on how they behave in the world, so this section sticks to what they confirm: how you get them and what the mod's own text says about them.[3]
Getting the blocks
Both blocks are crafted with a shaped recipe added by the mod. Here they are as the pack renders them.[2]

Breaking and picking them up
Each block drops itself when you break it. The loot table has a survives-explosion condition, so a block destroyed by an explosion may not drop anything.[4][5]
If a Terrain Controller shows the message "No Data Found! Replace Block and Try Again!", the block has no data to work with. The message tells you to replace the block and try again.[3]
What the mod's text describes
The mod's language file has a description for a whole set of sky, light, fog and tint properties. The sources do not say where these are set or how you edit them, so treat this as a list of what the mod can describe, not a how-to.[3]
- Light: ambient light color, block light tint, sky light color, and a sky light factor where 0 is none and 1 is normal.[3]
- Clouds: cloud color (includes alpha), rendered cloud layer height, and the distance where cloud fog reaches full intensity.[3]
- Fog: world fog color, fog start and end distances measured from the camera, and a sky fog end distance.[3]
- Underwater: water fog color, plus water fog start and end distances measured from the camera.[3]
- Sky bodies: sun, moon and star field rotation angles in degrees (0-360), and star brightness in the night sky.[3]
- Biome tints: overrides for grass, foliage, dry foliage and water tint colors.[3]
- Other colors: the sunrise and sunset horizon tint (includes alpha) and the color tint used by night vision.[3]
How do you progress through Weather Gate?
3 parts
In this pack, Weather Gate gives you the Snow Catcher and the Terrain Controller as craftable items. Each one is made with a shaped crafting recipe added by the mod.[2]

Getting them back
The Snow Catcher is a block whose loot table drops the Snow Catcher item itself, with a survives-explosion condition on the drop. So if you break a placed one, you get the item back, but an explosion can cost you the drop.[4]
The Terrain Controller works the same way: its loot table drops the Terrain Controller item, with the same survives-explosion condition.[5]
