Sophisticated Storage In Motion puts your storage on the move. In this pack it adds a Storage Boat and a Storage Minecart, and the recipes tie both to Sophisticated Storage containers such as chests, barrels and shulker boxes.[2]
Step 1: Make a storage boat
The easiest first build is a storage boat. The pack has a boat recipe for every wood type, including bamboo (as a raft) and pale oak. Each wood also has a second "from vanilla" recipe. Oak is a good place to start, and the other woods follow the same pattern.[2]

Step 3: Upgrade the container
Once you have a storage boat, you can upgrade the container it carries. The pack has a recipe for each step: chest to copper chest, chest to iron chest, copper to iron, iron to gold, gold to diamond, and diamond to netherite. Barrels and shulker boxes get the same kind of ladder. There are also limited barrel upgrades to copper and iron versions.[2]

Sophisticated Storage In Motion is a small add-on that puts Sophisticated Storage containers onto vehicles. The pack's recipe data shows the Storage Boat and the Storage Minecart. Everything below comes from those recipes, and the recipe list I have is only partly shown.[2]
Storage boats
Storage boat recipes exist for acacia, birch, cherry, dark oak, jungle, mangrove, oak, pale oak and spruce, plus a bamboo raft. Every wood has a direct storage boat recipe, which uses a recipe type added by this mod. Every wood also has a shapeless "from vanilla" recipe that gives you a Sophisticated Storage chest and a boat. Here is oak as an example of both.[2]

Upgrading the storage tier on a boat
You don't need to build a new boat to move up a storage tier. The pack has tier-upgrade recipes for boats that carry a chest or a barrel. A boat with a chest can become one with an iron or copper chest, and a boat with a barrel can become one with an iron or copper barrel. These use a dedicated recipe type from this mod.[2]

The tier ladder
Once you have a storage boat, you upgrade its container in the crafting grid. A plain chest can go to a Copper Chest or jump straight to an Iron Chest. From there the chain continues up to netherite.[2]

Upgrading containers on boats and minecarts
The pack also has tier upgrade recipes that use the mod's own recipe types. Going by their ids, they upgrade the container on a storage boat or storage minecart from one Sophisticated Storage tier to the next. The steps run from a plain chest, barrel or shulker box to copper or iron, then iron to gold, gold to diamond and diamond to netherite.[2]
- Chests and barrels: boat recipes go from a plain version to Copper Chest or Iron Chest (and the barrel equivalents), and then step up through gold, diamond and netherite.[2]
- Shulker boxes: boat recipes lead to Copper Shulker Box, Iron Shulker Box, Gold Shulker Box, Diamond Shulker Box and Netherite Shulker Box.[2]
