What is Oritech Things?
This pack includes Oritech Things at version 0.1.2, shipped as the file oritechthings-0.1.2.jar. It has been part of the pack since 1.2.1 or earlier.[1]
How do you get started with Oritech Things?
5 parts
Oritech Things adds a ladder of addon blocks, from tier 2 up to tier 9, plus a few particle accelerator parts. Several of its recipes use machines from Oritech, and the pack adds its own fabricating recipes for the higher tiers. Here is the order I would work through it in.[2][3]
Step 1: Tier 2 addons by hand
The tier 2 Acceptor Addon Tier 2, Capacitor Addon Tier 2, Efficiency Addon Tier 2, Processing Addon Tier 2 and Speed Addon Tier 2 each have a shaped crafting recipe, so you can start here without a special machine. Here is the speed one as an example.[2]

The other four tier 2 addons have their own shaped recipes.
Step 2: Tier 3 in the assembler
Tier 2 and tier 3 of the acceptor, capacitor, efficiency, processing and speed addons also have Oritech assembler recipes. The pack changed all five tier 3 recipes, and it changed the tier 2 assembler recipes for efficiency and processing. Do not rely on the mod's default recipes for those.[2]
Assembler (oritech)
Recipe id: oritechthings:assembler/addon_block_speed_tier_3
The pack changed this recipe from the mod's version.
Step 3: Tier 4 and up through fabricating
From tier 4 the pack takes over. It adds fabricating recipes for the acceptor, capacitor and efficiency addons from tier 4 to tier 9, and for the processing addon from tier 4 to tier 8. It also adds them for the efficient speed addon from tier 2 to tier 9, and for Cross Dimensional.[2]

A fabricating recipe added by the pack.
The pack sets the addon stats in the addonSettings option. It is a list of entries with values such as acceptorRate, capacitorCapacity and processingChambers.[4]
Handy tools
The Frame Placer and the Advanced Target Designator both have shapeless crafting recipes.[2]

Particle accelerator extras
The Particle Accelerator Speed Sensor is made in the Oritech atomic forge, and the pack adds a fabricating recipe for the Accelerator Magnetic Field.[2]

The magnetic field links to an accelerator controller. The speed sensor has an automatic mode, which detects the velocity required by active particle recipes, and a manual mode, where you set a velocity threshold for the redstone output.[3]
In this pack the magnetic field is enabled (magneticFieldSettings.enabled). These are the other magnetic field values the pack sets:[4]
How does Oritech Things work?
5 parts
Oritech Things adds a set of upgrade and accelerator helper blocks on top of Oritech. This page covers what the pack's files show about how they work. The sources here don't include a guidebook or documentation for the mod, so it only covers what the language file, the config and the recipes confirm.[2][3][4]
Addon blocks
The mod adds six families of addon blocks, each running from tier 2 up to tier 9: Acceptor, Capacitor, Efficiency, Efficient Speed, Processing and Speed. There is also a single Cross Dimensional block. Examples are Acceptor Addon Tier 2, Capacitor Addon Tier 4 and Speed Addon Tier 2.[3]
The numbers behind the addons live in addonSettings. Each entry in that list sets an acceptor rate and capacity, a capacitor rate and capacity, a speed multiplier, an efficiency up and down value, a number of processing chambers and a processing efficiency. Here is how the first and last entries in the pack's config compare:[4]
- First entry: acceptor rate 4,000 and capacity 1,000,000; capacitor rate 2,000 and capacity 4,000,000; speed multiplier 0; efficiency up 0.6 and down 1.4; 2 processing chambers at processing efficiency 2.[4]
- Last entry: acceptor rate 18,000 and capacity 4,500,000; capacitor rate 9,000 and capacity 18,000,000; speed multiplier -3.5; efficiency up -0.8 and down 2.8; 9 processing chambers at processing efficiency 5.5.[4]
Between those two entries the values step steadily: capacitor capacity, for example, rises by 2,000,000 each entry, and the processing chambers go up by one each entry. The acceptor rate is the one exception, because the entry just before the last repeats 14,000 instead of climbing.[4]
How the addons are made
The tier 2 addons have an ordinary crafting recipe and also an Oritech assembler recipe. The pack changed the assembler recipes for the tier 3 acceptor and capacitor, the tier 2 and 3 efficiency addons and the tier 2 processing addon.[2]

The tier 3 acceptor is made in the assembler, using the recipe the pack changed.
The higher tiers use recipes the pack adds itself. The acceptor addons from tier 4 to tier 9 and the Capacitor Addon Tier 4 are made with the fabricating recipe type from FTB Evolution 2 Companion. Across the whole mod, 40 fabricating recipes make Oritech Things items.[2]

Accelerator magnetic field
The Accelerator Magnetic Field links to a particle accelerator controller. It must be placed inside the particle accelerator area at the same Y level, and the link only works if it targets an actual accelerator controller. The mod shows an error message if the link fails.[3]
The pack's config has a magneticFieldSettings group with these values:[4]
- magneticFieldSettings.enabled is true.[4]
- magneticFieldSettings.baseCost is 10,000.[4]
- magneticFieldSettings.speedCostDivisor is 50.[4]
- magneticFieldSettings.minDistance is 16.[4]
- magneticFieldSettings.searchRadius is 32.[4]
The pack also adds a fabricating recipe for the magnetic field block.[2]

Particle accelerator speed sensor
The Particle Accelerator Speed Sensor outputs a redstone signal based on particle velocity, so you can automate around your accelerator. You link it to a target particle accelerator, and the maximum distance is 128 blocks. If the target is invalid or too far away, the sensor shows a warning.[3]
Its screen has an ON/OFF switch and two modes. In Auto mode, the sensor detects the required velocity from active particle recipes. In Manual mode, you set a specific velocity threshold for the redstone output. When it is off, the sensor does not output a redstone signal.[3]
Atomic Forge (oritech)

The speed sensor is made in the Oritech atomic forge.
Other config options
The pack's config file also contains these settings:[4]
- dimensionalDroneSettings.enabled is true, and dimensionalDroneSettings.energyToCross is 10,000.[4]
- exoJetPackSettings.enabledCreativeFlight is true, and exoJetPackSettings.rfThreshold is 10,000.[4]
How do you progress through Oritech Things?
6 parts
The sources here show no quest covering Oritech Things, so there is no quest chapter to follow for this mod. What they do show is how every item is made, and that gives a clear path: the addon blocks climb from tier 2 to tier 9, and the recipe type you need changes as you go up.[2]
Unverified No quest in the sources provided covers Oritech Things, so where the pack's quest book wants you to start with it is not shown here. The tier order below comes from the recipes only.
Tier 2: hand crafting or the assembler
The first rung is tier 2 of five addon families: Acceptor Addon Tier 2, Capacitor Addon Tier 2, Efficiency Addon Tier 2, Processing Addon Tier 2 and Speed Addon Tier 2. Each one has a shaped crafting table recipe, and each also has an Oritech assembler recipe.[2]

| any silicon | Biosteel | any silicon |
Recipe id: oritechthings:addon_block_speed_tier_2
The Speed Addon Tier 2 crafting table recipe is a mod recipe, unchanged by the pack.
The assembler versions are not all the same. The acceptor, capacitor and speed tier 2 assembler recipes are plain mod recipes. The efficiency and processing tier 2 assembler recipes are changed by the pack.[2]
Tier 3: assembler recipes changed by the pack
Tier 3 of the acceptor, capacitor, efficiency, processing and speed addons is made in the assembler, and all five of those recipes are changed by the pack. Do not rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults here. Check the recipe in game.[2]
Assembler (oritech)
Recipe id: oritechthings:assembler/addon_block_speed_tier_3
The pack changed this assembler recipe for Speed Addon Tier 3.
Tiers 4 to 9: pack-added fabricating recipes
From tier 4 to tier 9, the acceptor, capacitor, efficiency, processing and speed addons all use fabricating recipes that the pack adds. That makes six more steps for each family, from Acceptor Addon Tier 4 up to Acceptor Addon Tier 9, and the same for the other four. FTB Evolution 2 Companion provides the fabricating recipe type.[2]
Fabricating (ftbevolutioncompanion)
Recipe id: ftb:fabricating/oritechthings/addon_block_speed_tier_4
Speed Addon Tier 4 is the first speed addon that needs a pack-added fabricating recipe.
Efficient Speed and Cross Dimensional
The Efficient Speed addon is different. Its recipes start at tier 2, and every tier from 2 to 9, for example Efficient Speed Addon Tier 2 and Efficient Speed Addon Tier 9, uses a pack-added fabricating recipe. The sources show no crafting table or assembler recipe for it.[2]
Cross Dimensional is also made through a pack-added fabricating recipe.[2]

Particle accelerator parts
The mod's particle accelerator block tag holds two blocks: the Particle Accelerator Speed Sensor and the Accelerator Magnetic Field.[5]
The speed sensor is made in the Oritech atomic forge with a mod recipe. The magnetic field is made through a fabricating recipe the pack adds.[2]

What changed in Oritech Things between versions?
1 part
FTB Evolution 2 1.2.1 ships Oritech Things version 0.1.2. The pack's mod list says it was first included in 1.2.1 or earlier, so the sources here do not show exactly which pack release added it.[1]
Oritech Things 0.1.2
- Fixed the spawn egg for the amethyst fish. That is the only change listed in the mod's 0.1.2 changelog.[6]
Unverified The sources here include no pack changelog entries for Oritech Things, so changes to this mod between FTB Evolution 2 releases are not shown.
