What is Macaw's Doors?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Macaw's Doors is a building mod about doors. Its main idea is to give you the vanilla-style door in every wood color, so your builds are not stuck with just the default door looks.[1]

It also adds brand new door designs. The project page names western, garage, shoji, metal, jail and modern doors, and says there are more beyond those.[1]

In this pack

The pack ships Macaw's Doors 1.1.5. It has been in the pack since 0.0.1 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the mod list.[2]

It is a decorative mod, so think of it as a way to polish your bases and builds rather than something you need to progress.[1]

How do you get started with Macaw's Doors?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Macaw's Doors adds vanilla-style doors in every wood color, plus new designs like western, garage and shoji doors. No quests in this pack involve it, so you can start crafting whenever you like.[1]

Start with a wood door

Pick a wooden door in a style you like. The same designs repeat across the wood types, and the recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack versions. Good ones to try first are Acacia Classic Door, Acacia Modern Door and Bamboo Shoji Door.[3]

If you want something with more character, the same wood types also come in barn, cottage, stable, swamp and waffle styles. There are glassed variants too, such as Acacia Barn Glassed Door and Birch Glass Door.[3]

Metal and garage doors

The mod also adds metal doors and garage doors. They behave differently from wood doors, so read these two notes before you build.[1]

Watch out: Metal doors require Redstone power to open.[4]
Tip: For a garage door, place only one on the ceiling. When it is opened, it rolls down.[4]

Unverified The sources here show no quests and no in-jar guidebook for this mod, so a recommended crafting order is unverified. The recipe viewer shows the exact in-pack recipe for each door. This site does hold FTB Evolution 2's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does Macaw's Doors work?

3 parts

Macaw's Doors is a building mod. It adds vanilla-style doors in every wood colour plus new designs, so the sources here show crafting and block drops, not machines, power or automation. This page covers what they do confirm.[1]

What you get

The mod gives you the vanilla door shape in every wood colour, plus extra styles such as western, garage, shoji, modern and jail doors.[1]

Breaking and dropping

The wood doors whose loot tables are shown here, such as Acacia Glass Door and Acacia Barn Door, drop their item only when the lower half is the part that gets broken. Each loot table also carries the standard survives-explosion condition, so the drop is not guaranteed if the door is blown up.[5][6]

Crafting

All 278 mcwdoors recipes in this pack are shaped crafting recipes, and each one has a different result. How many doors you get per craft depends on the style, so check the recipe before you stock up on materials.[7]

In the recipe dump, the bamboo doors listed, such as Bamboo Glass Door, each make a single door per craft, while some of the Acacia versions make 2 or 3.[7]

Unverified Only a sample of the door loot tables is shown in the sources here. The rest of the door drop behaviour lives in the mod's data/mcwdoors/loot_table/blocks folder, and those files are not included here.

How do you progress through Macaw's Doors?

3 parts

Here's the honest picture for Macaw's Doors in this pack: the sources I have don't show any tier system for it. The doors are decorative building blocks, so there's no ladder to climb. What the pack does show is a large set of crafting recipes, and that's what this section covers.[7]

What you can craft

The pack has 278 shaped crafting recipes that make doors from this mod, and each one gives a different result. They are all mod recipes, which means they are the recipes the mod ships with and the pack has not replaced them.[7]

The sources I have don't spell out the ingredients, so the recipe blocks below are the place to check exactly what goes in. Craft one yourself to see the in-pack pattern for any door.[7]

How many doors you get

The output count depends on the door style. For the vanilla-style wood types shown in the sources (acacia, birch, cherry and crimson), the glass, bark glass, barn glassed, shoji, shoji whole, modern, stable and western styles give 3 doors per craft. Barn doors give 2. Most other styles give a single door, such as beach, classic, cottage, four panel, mystic, paper, stable horse, swamp and whispering.[7]

Tip: Bamboo is the odd one out. In the recipes shown, every bamboo door style gives a single door per craft, including the glass and bark glass styles that give 3 in the other wood types. If you want a lot of doors from one craft, check the output count first.[7]

Picking doors back up

Breaking a door drops the door item as long as you break the lower half. The loot table for the Acacia Mesh Door checks for the lower half and also requires the block to survive an explosion. The other door loot tables I was given, such as the Acacia Bark Glass Door one, follow the same pattern.[8][9]

Unverified The sources here do not show a quest chapter that covers Macaw's Doors, so where the mod sits in the pack's questline is not confirmed. Check the pack's quest book in game for any related tasks.
