What is TFC Casting with Channels?
3 parts
TFC Casting with Channels lets you fill more than one mold from a single Crucible at the same time. Instead of pouring into one mold, waiting, and repeating, you lay out a row of Mold Tables and let the metal flow to all of them.[1]
This pack ships version 0.1.5-beta of the mod. It has been in the pack since Gravitas 1.2 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the TFC setup.[2]
How it works
You connect Mold Tables to the Crucible using Channels, then right-click the Channel next to the Crucible to start the casting. To load a mold, shift-right-click a Mold Table while holding a Mold. Do the same to take it back off.[1]
Channels and Mold Tables are made by knapping, as Unfired Channels and an Unfired Mold Table. Like any other pottery, they need to be fired before you can use them.[1]
Automation options
- Channels can be activated with a redstone pulse.[1]
- Mold Tables output a comparator signal.[1]
- Mold Tables interact with a Dispenser holding a water bucket or an olive oil bucket.[1]
Who it is for
This mod is for you if you cast a lot of metal and want to make a batch of items in one go. The redstone and comparator support also makes it a good fit if you like building automated setups.[1]
Unverified Where the mod fits in this pack's progression is unconfirmed. The available sources do not show a quest or a place on the ATM Star path that involves it, so treat it as an optional quality-of-life addition rather than a required step.
How do you get started with TFC Casting with Channels?
5 parts
This mod lets you pour from one Crucible into several molds at once. Instead of filling molds one by one, you connect Mold Tables to the Crucible with Channels and cast them all together. Everything starts with pottery.[1]
Knap your Channels
Channels carry the metal from the Crucible to your molds, so you make them first. You knap Unfired Casting Channel from fire clay. The pack has two knapping recipes for it, and you will want several Channels, since the Mold Tables are connected to the Crucible using Channels.[1][3]

Fire Clay Knapping (tfc)

Knap a Mold Table
Next, knap an Unfired Mold Table. This is where your molds sit while the Crucible fills them.[1][3]

Fire everything
The knapped Channels and Mold Table are still unfired. They need to be fired like any other piece of pottery before you can use them.[1]
Set up and cast
- Place your Mold Tables and connect them to the Crucible using Channels.[1]
- Shift-right-click each Mold Table while holding a Mold to place it. Shift-right-click the table again to remove the Mold.[1]
- Right-click the Channel next to the Crucible to cast into the connected molds.[1]
Automation extras
Once the basic setup works, you can automate it. A redstone pulse activates a Channel, and Mold Tables output a comparator signal. They also interact with a Dispenser holding a water or olive oil bucket.[1]
How does TFC Casting with Channels work?
3 parts
Casting with Channels lets you cast from one Crucible into more than one mold at a time. The whole system is built from two pieces of pottery: the Unfired Casting Channel and the Unfired Mold Table.[1][3]
Making the parts
Both parts are knapped. In this pack the recipes use fire clay knapping. They come out unfired, so you still have to fire them like any other pottery before they work.[1][3]

Setting up a casting line
- Knap the channels and the mold table, then fire them.[1]
- Connect the Mold Tables to the Crucible using Channels.[1]
- Shift-right-click a Mold Table with a mold to place it. Shift-right-click the Mold Table with a mold again to remove it.[1]
- Right-click the Channel next to the Crucible to start the cast.[1]
Automation
You can automate the system with redstone. Channels can be activated with a redstone pulse, and Mold Tables output a comparator signal, so you can read them from your own circuits.[1]
Mold Tables also interact with a Dispenser holding a water bucket or an olive oil bucket.[1]
How do you progress through TFC Casting with Channels?
3 parts
The sources for this mod show one short setup rather than a tier ladder. You build it once, and then you can pour from a Crucible into several molds at the same time. The steps below follow the in-pack recipes.[1][3]
The setup path
- Knap your Unfired Casting Channel pieces. In this pack they come from fire clay knapping, and the channel has more than one knapping pattern that gives the same result.[1][3]
- Knap an Unfired Mold Table, which also uses fire clay knapping.[1][3]
- Fire the channels and the mold table like any other piece of pottery.[1]
- Connect the Mold Tables to the Crucible using Channels, then right-click the Channel next to the Crucible to cast.[1]
- Shift-right-click a Mold Table with a Mold to place the mold on it, or to remove it again.[1]

Optional automation
Once everything is fired and placed, you can automate it. A redstone pulse activates the Channels. Mold Tables output a comparator signal, and they also interact with a Dispenser holding a water bucket or an olive oil bucket.[1]
