What is KubeJS Thermal?
2 parts
KubeJS Thermal is a KubeJS integration for Thermal Expansion. It adds Thermal machine recipe types to KubeJS, so scripts can add or change Thermal recipes through the recipe event.[1]
The pack includes this mod. It is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.[1][2]
What it can script
The supported recipe types cover Thermal's processing machines: furnace, sawmill, pulverizer, smelter, centrifuge, chiller, refinery, brewer, bottler, press, crucible and insolator. It also covers the catalyst types for the pulverizer, smelter and insolator.[1]
Thermal's generator fuels are scriptable too: stirling, compression, magmatic, numismatic and lapidary.[1]
Quest book placement
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest chapter, group or position for this mod in the pack's quest book, and they do not show whether the ATM Star path uses it. They also do not show which Thermal recipes or fuels the pack changes with it.
How do you get started with KubeJS Thermal?
1 part
Good news first: KubeJS Thermal isn't a mod you craft your way through. It's an integration that lets KubeJS scripts add and change Thermal Expansion recipes, so it has no starter items or machines of its own to build.[1]
What it does is let pack scripts define recipes for Thermal machines. The supported types are the furnace, sawmill, pulverizer, smelter, centrifuge, chiller, refinery, brewer, bottler, press, crucible and insolator.[1]
It also covers catalyst recipes for the pulverizer, smelter and insolator. On the fuel side it supports stirling, compression, magmatic, numismatic and lapidary fuels.[1]
What this means for your first steps
If a Thermal machine in this pack gives you an unexpected result, a KubeJS script may have changed that recipe or fuel. That's a good thing to keep in mind when you're working out what to make first.[1]
Unverified I couldn't confirm any in-pack recipes, quests or item names tied to this mod, so there is no verified crafting order or recipe to show here. Check the Thermal Expansion section of the guide for the machines you'll actually build.
How does KubeJS Thermal work?
4 parts
This one is a bit different from most mods on the wiki. KubeJS Thermal is described as a KubeJS integration for Thermal Expansion. It gives pack scripts a way to add recipes for Thermal content, so the interesting part is which recipe types a script can create.[1]
Machine recipe types scripts can create
These are the machine recipe types the project page lists as supported.[1]
- Furnace, sawmill, pulverizer, smelter and centrifuge[1]
- Chiller, refinery, brewer and bottler[1]
- Press, crucible and insolator[1]
Catalyst recipe types
Scripts can also define catalysts with the types pulverizer_catalyst, smelter_catalyst and insolator_catalyst. The page's catalyst example sets these modifiers: primaryMod, secondaryMod, energyMod, minChance and useChance. It uses 1.0 for primaryMod, secondaryMod and energyMod, 0.0 for minChance and 1.0 for useChance. Those are illustrative values from the project page, not confirmed values for this pack.[1]
Fuel recipe types
Fuels are scriptable too. The supported types are stirling_fuel, compression_fuel, magmatic_fuel, numismatic_fuel and lapidary_fuel. The lapidary example gives Coal an energy value of 100,000. That number is just the page's sample, not a pack value.[1]
What the examples show
- Press: the sample turns the black dye tag into Bone.[1]
- Crucible: the sample turns the saplings tag into 300 of water.[1]
- Insolator: the sample takes the black dye tag and gives Bone, with a water amount of 400 set through a water option.[1]
These snippets show the shape of a script. They are not recipes from this pack.[1]
Unverified Which specific recipes this pack adds or changes with this mod is not shown by the sources here. The pack has no config files for this mod, and no pack recipes producing its items were found, so none of that is confirmed.
What changed in KubeJS Thermal between versions?
KubeJS Thermal has been in the pack since All the Mods - Gravitas 1.1 or earlier. Gravitas 4.0 includes the 1802.1.5 line of the mod, so there isn't much history to tell.[2]
The changelog for the build in this pack lists a merge of the dev branch, plus a dependency update that adds crystallizer support (closes #15 in the mod's tracker).[2][3]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for this mod are available in the sources here, so any pack-specific changes to it between releases are not shown.

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as kubejs_thermal, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
