What is Angel Ring 2?
Angel Ring 2 is part of this pack. The pack ships version 2.0.4, using the file AngelRing2-1.18.2-2.0.4.jar. The pack's mod list shows it was first included in this pack or an earlier version, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have for this guide only confirm that the mod is installed and which version it is. They don't describe what it does, how it's crafted, whether the pack changed its recipes or configs, or where it fits in progression. They also don't show it on the ATM Star path or tied to any quests. I'm leaving all of that out rather than guessing. Check the in-game item tooltips and recipe viewer for details. This site does hold All the Mods - Gravitas's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Angel Ring 2?
3 parts
Angel Ring 2 is all about flight, and in this pack every ring recipe has been changed. Don't rely on what you remember from other packs; use the recipes shown below.[2]
First: the Diamond Ring
Everything starts with the Diamond Ring. It is the base for your first Angel Ring and also for the Leadstone and Energetic rings later, so make it first.[2]

Next: the Angel Ring
Turn the Diamond Ring into the Angel Ring. This is the basic flight ring, and it also needs a nether star, so plan a trip for one before you start.[2]

Per its in-game description, the Angel Ring drains your XP over time while you fly. If your XP drops below 1 level, the magic disappears and you can't fly any more. Keep some XP in reserve before you head out.[3]
Then: choose your upgrade path
You can go for the Energetic Angel Ring, which is built from the Diamond Ring. According to its tooltip, it drains stored FE over time while you fly instead of XP.[2][3]

The other route is a ladder of rings, and each one needs the one before it. You start with the Leadstone Angel Ring, which is also built from the Diamond Ring. Then come the Hardened Angel Ring, the Reinforced Angel Ring and finally the Resonant Angel Ring. Every step in this chain also uses Thermal items and a nether star, so expect to work on your Thermal setup in parallel.[2]

How does Angel Ring 2 work?
3 parts
Angel Ring 2 has no machines, multiblocks or pipes to set up. Everything revolves around rings that give you flight and charge you a resource while you use it. That resource is either your XP or stored FE, depending on which ring you wear.[3][4]
The base Angel Ring: XP-powered flight
The Angel Ring drains your XP over time while you fly. If your XP drops below 1 level, the magic disappears and you can't fly until you have more.[3]
Config options control the drain. general.XPCost is how much XP is taken each time, and this pack sets it to 3. general.TicksPerDrain is how many ticks pass between drains, and this pack sets it to 50.[4]
The ring has two modes. With the XP cost above 0, it runs in Rebalanced Mode, which is the XP-draining behavior described above. Set the cost to 0 and the ring switches to Classic Mode, which grants creative flight while the ring is in a Curios slot. With the pack's value of 3, you get the XP-draining behavior.[3][4]
FE-powered rings
The other rings run on stored FE instead of XP. They drain that energy over time while you fly, and the tooltip shows how much FE the ring holds against its maximum. Hold Shift on the ring to see it.[3]
Each tier has its own capacity and its own drain per tick while flying. These are the values set in the pack's config:[4]
- Leadstone Angel Ring: 2,500,000 FE capacity, 250 FE per tick (general.LeadstoneFECapacity, general.LeadstoneFEPerTick).[4]
- Energetic Angel Ring: 3,000,000 FE capacity, 150 FE per tick (general.EnergeticFECapacity, general.EnergeticFEPerTick).[4]
- Hardened Angel Ring: 5,000,000 FE capacity, 200 FE per tick (general.HardenedFECapacity, general.HardenedFEPerTick).[4]
- Reinforced Angel Ring: 8,000,000 FE capacity, 100 FE per tick (general.ReinforcedFECapacity, general.ReinforcedFEPerTick).[4]
- Resonant Angel Ring: 16,000,000 FE capacity, 50 FE per tick (general.ResonantFECapacity, general.ResonantFEPerTick).[4]
The Resonant ring has both the biggest buffer and the lowest drain. The Leadstone ring has the smallest buffer and the highest drain. The Hardened ring has a bigger buffer than the Energetic one but drains faster.[4]
Crafting the rings
The pack changed the crafting recipe of every ring in the mod, so use the recipes below. The Diamond Ring is an ingredient in the Angel Ring, Leadstone Angel Ring and Energetic Angel Ring recipes.[2]

How do you progress through Angel Ring 2?
3 parts
Angel Ring 2 progression in this pack is all about crafting. Every ring has a recipe, and the recipe dump marks each one as changed by the pack. It all starts with the Diamond Ring, the base of the whole ring family.[2]
The Diamond Ring

This is the starting point: the other rings are crafted from it directly or from rings made from it.
Branching from the Diamond Ring
The Diamond Ring is used directly in the recipes for the plain Angel Ring, the Energetic Angel Ring and the Leadstone Angel Ring. The Leadstone Angel Ring is the one that starts the longer upgrade line.[2]

The upgrade line
Each later tier is crafted from the one before it, in this order: Leadstone Angel Ring, then Hardened Angel Ring, then Reinforced Angel Ring, then Resonant Angel Ring.[2]
These upgrade recipes call for Thermal items, so you will need access to Thermal materials before you can climb the line.[2]

How does Angel Ring 2 work with other mods?
3 parts
Angel Ring 2 connects to other mods through its crafting chain, and in this pack the main partner is Thermal. Every ring recipe below is marked as changed by the pack, so these Thermal-heavy recipes are this pack's own design, not the mod's defaults.[2]
No quests in this pack involve the mod, so these recipes are the only integration points confirmed.[2]
A ring ladder built from Thermal parts
The rings form an upgrade chain. The Diamond Ring is used to make the Leadstone Angel Ring, which is used for the Hardened Angel Ring, then the Reinforced Angel Ring, and finally the Resonant Angel Ring. Each step consumes the previous ring, so you can't skip a tier.[2]
Every tier also needs a Nether Star. On top of that, each recipe asks for several Thermal items: a Thermal glass, upgrade augments, and a metal storage block.[2]
- Thermal glass scales with the tier. The glass in the first ring recipe is Hardened Glass. The later tiers use Lumium Glass, Signalum Glass and Enderium Glass.[2]
- Thermal augments appear in most tiers. The Integral Components (Hardened Integral Components, Reinforced Integral Components and Resonant Integral Components) are used in the Leadstone, Hardened and Resonant ring recipes. The RF coil augments (Stabilized RF Coil and High-Flux RF Coil) are used in the Hardened and Reinforced ring recipes.[2]
- Other Thermal materials show up in the upper tiers: Energized Glowstone Bucket in the Reinforced ring and Blizz Powder in the Resonant ring.[2]
Metal storage blocks
Each ring recipe also needs storage blocks of a metal, matched by tag rather than by one specific item. The Leadstone ring uses cinnabar and lead blocks, the Hardened ring uses invar, the Reinforced ring uses electrum, and the Resonant ring uses enderium. Any block carrying the right tag works, even from a different mod.[2]

Which Angel Ring 2 config options matter?
2 parts
All the Angel Ring options you are likely to touch live in the server config file. The numbers below are the ones this pack sets, so use them rather than anything you remember from another pack.[4]
Classic Angel Ring: the XP cost
The classic ring pays for flight with experience. general.TicksPerDrain is the number of ticks between each XP drain, and this pack sets it to 50. general.XPCost is how much XP is taken each time, and this pack sets it to 3.[4]
FE rings: capacity and drain
The other rings run on FE instead. Each has a capacity option for how much FE it can store, and a per-tick option for how much FE it drains every tick while you fly. This is how the pack sets them:[4]
- Leadstone: capacity 2,500,000 (general.LeadstoneFECapacity), drain 250 per tick (general.LeadstoneFEPerTick).[4]
- Hardened: capacity 5,000,000 (general.HardenedFECapacity), drain 200 per tick (general.HardenedFEPerTick).[4]
- Energetic: capacity 3,000,000 (general.EnergeticFECapacity), drain 150 per tick (general.EnergeticFEPerTick).[4]
- Reinforced: capacity 8,000,000 (general.ReinforcedFECapacity), drain 100 per tick (general.ReinforcedFEPerTick).[4]
- Resonant: capacity 16,000,000 (general.ResonantFECapacity), drain 50 per tick (general.ResonantFEPerTick).[4]
In this pack the Resonant ring has the biggest buffer and the lowest drain. The Leadstone ring has the smallest buffer and the highest drain.[4]
The config file lists a range above 1 for every FE capacity and drain option and for TicksPerDrain, and a range above 0 for XPCost.[4]
