What is Sophisticated Core?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
Sophisticated Core is included in this pack at version 1.0.5, shipped as the Minecraft 1.21.1 build sophisticatedcore-1.21.1-1.0.5.813.jar. It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what Sophisticated Core does in gameplay, who it is aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. They also don't show it on the ATM Star path or tied to any quests, so I'm not making claims about those. Check back once more detail is available.
How do you get started with Sophisticated Core?
3 parts
Here's the honest picture for this one: the sources I have for Sophisticated Core only cover its screen text, not any recipes, quests or configs. So I can't give you a crafting order or point you to a recipe for this mod. What I can do is show you the tools its inventory screens give you, so you know what to look for once you have a backpack or storage block open.[2]
Sorting and moving items
The storage screen has a Sort Inventory button. You can sort by count, by mod, by name or by tags, which helps a lot once your storage fills up with modded items.[2]
There are also transfer buttons: Transfer to Inventory and Transfer to Storage. Each has a filtered version that moves only matching items, and the tooltip says to hold Shift to transfer all.[2]
The screen also has a search box. If nothing matches, it tells you "No items match the search".[2]
Settings worth checking early
- Keep Search Phrase: when it is OFF, the screen clears your search when you close it and shows everything the next time you open it. When it is ON, it keeps the phrase and filters by it again on reopening.[2]
- Keep Tab Open: when it is ON, the storage remembers which upgrade tab was last open and reopens it next time. When it is OFF, all tabs start closed.[2]
- Player-level settings apply to all backpacks and storages unless a specific one overrides them.[2]
- Settings templates: you can save your settings to a slot, load them from a slot, and export them to a data pack as an snbt file.[2]
Upgrade slot rules
The error messages hint at how upgrades behave. You can't have a second Battery Upgrade in another upgrade slot. The game also warns that there are already two Tank Upgrades when you try to add more. If a backpack can't support a battery or tank upgrade, the message tells you to upgrade the backpack or add a stack multiplier. Only admins can remove an Infinity Upgrade.[2]
Unverified The first items to craft for this mod, and their recipes in this pack, could not be confirmed from the available sources.
How does Sophisticated Core work?
5 parts
Sophisticated Core is the shared layer behind the storage screens and upgrades you use in this pack. The only material available for this section is the text the mod shows on screen, so this page covers what you can do in the interface and the rules it enforces. It does not cover power use, fluid throughput or multiblocks.[2]
Searching and sorting
Every storage screen has a Sort Inventory button. You can sort by count, by mod, by name or by tags. The search box says "Click to search", and starting your search with @ filters by mod name. If nothing matches, the screen tells you "No items match the search".[2]
There is also a Keep Search Phrase toggle. When it is off, the screen clears your search when you close it and shows everything unfiltered next time. When it is on, the phrase is kept and prefilled when you reopen the screen.[2]
Moving items in bulk
The screen has buttons to transfer to inventory and to transfer to storage. Each has a "matching" version that only moves stacks matching what is already on the other side, and its tooltip says to hold Shift to transfer all.[2]
Shift-clicking a stack has its own setting. In the default mode it tries the inventory or storage first and only then an open upgrade tab. Switch it to "Shift Click Into Open Tab First" and the open tab gets the stack first.[2]
Slot settings
The settings screen has a few slot-level tools. Each one lets you select slots by left click or drag and unselect them by right click or drag. There are also Select All Slots and Unselect All Slots buttons.[2]
- Memory: slots remember their contents and only allow matching stacks in them.[2]
- No Sort: slots you pick are ignored when you sort.[2]
- Item Display: choose a slot whose item is shown on top of the storage. You can show it on the front, left or right side.[2]
Settings can apply at player level, which means they apply to all backpacks and storages unless a specific one overrides them. A Keep Tab Open option makes a storage remember which upgrade tab was open and reopen it next time.[2]
Saving and sharing settings
You can save settings to a slot, load them back and scroll to change slots. Saved slots can have custom names, and the name can't be empty. You can also export settings, which creates a data pack with an snbt file. The file name can't be empty or contain invalid characters. If you load settings that need more slots than a storage has, you get the message "Settings don't fit in this storage".[2]
Upgrades
Upgrades live in upgrade slots and each one gets its own settings tab. An upgrade can show as ON, OFF or INACTIVE. The upgrade names visible in the text include Adv. Alchemy, Adv. Compacting, Adv. Feeding, Adv. Filter, Jukebox, Adv. Magnet and Adv. Pickup. The text I have is cut off, so this list is not complete.[2]
The error messages show the rules for adding and removing upgrades:[2]
- Some upgrades are limited in number. The message reads "Only single %s can be used in %s", or "Only %dx %s can be used in %s" when more than one is allowed.[2]
- Only one Battery Upgrade can be installed at a time.[2]
- A storage can hold up to two Tank Upgrades.[2]
- Battery and Tank Upgrades need enough energy or capacity from the storage. If it falls short, the message tells you to upgrade the backpack or add a stack multiplier.[2]
- Some upgrades need the last few inventory slots to be empty before you can add them.[2]
- Some upgrades need every upgrade slot to be empty first.[2]
- You can't remove an upgrade while a banned item is still inside it. Remove the item first.[2]
- If any slot or upgrade needs a higher stack limit, you can't lower the stack multiplier.[2]
- Only admins can remove the Infinity Upgrade.[2]
Unverified The exact capacity, energy and stack multiplier values, and what each upgrade does in this pack, are not confirmed by the available sources.
