What is Crafting Tweaks?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
Crafting Tweaks is a small quality-of-life mod that makes crafting grids a lot less fiddly. It adds buttons to crafting tables so you can rotate, balance or clear the grid with a single click. That saves you from dragging items around slot by slot.[1]
This pack includes Crafting Tweaks version 21.1.5. It isn't limited to the vanilla table either: it supports many modded crafting tables, so the same buttons turn up in plenty of the crafting screens you'll use.[1][2]
What it lets you do
- Rotate the outer ring of the crafting grid, which is handy when a recipe needs the same pattern turned around.[1]
- Balance the materials in the grid so every slot has an even stack size. Hold Shift on the balance button to spread a single stack across the entire grid.[1]
- Clear the whole crafting grid back into your inventory in one go.[1]
- Hold the W key while clicking items to move them into the grid, or use Shift+W to move every item of that type.[1]
- Right-click the result slot to craft a full stack at once.[1]
- Use a keybind to compress items into their 3x3 or 2x2 recipe, or to decompress blocks back into their ingot forms.[1]
Who it's for
If you do a lot of hand crafting, and in a big modded pack you will, this mod is for you. It adds shortcuts to crafting screens you already use, so there's nothing extra to build before you can start using it.[1]
How do you get started with Crafting Tweaks?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Crafting Tweaks is a quality-of-life mod, so there is nothing to build before you use it. Open a supported crafting table and you will find extra buttons that let you rotate, balance or clear the crafting grid with one click.[1]
Your first few minutes with it
- Open a crafting table and look for the added buttons. One rotates the outer circle of the grid, one balances the materials to even stack sizes, and one clears the grid into your inventory.[1]
- Hold shift on the balance button to spread a single stack over the whole grid. That is handy when you are crafting something that needs the same item in every slot.[1]
- Right-click the result slot to craft an entire stack in one go.[1]
- Hold the W key while clicking items to move them into the grid. Shift+W transfers all items of that type.[1]
- Use the compress keybind to turn stacks of items into their 3x3 or 2x2 recipe result, such as blocks or ingots. The mod can also decompress them.[1]
Tuning it to your taste
The client config has a mode setting. DEFAULT enables both buttons and hotkeys, BUTTONS gives you buttons only, HOTKEYS gives you hotkeys only, and DISABLED turns the mod off completely. There is also a Hide Vanilla Crafting Guide option, which hides vanilla's recipe book button instead of moving it. If you keep the button, two offset options set where it sits.[3]
On the common side, the compress feature normally needs a crafting grid open. A config option can lift that, but it only works if the mod is installed on the server and you are in your player inventory. A separate denylist lets you stop specific modid:name entries from being crafted by the compress key.[3]
The mod needs Balm installed alongside it. It is also bi-optional: only the players who want it need to install it, and it still works for them if the server does not have it.[1]
How does Crafting Tweaks work?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Crafting Tweaks is a quality-of-life mod that adds buttons and keybinds to crafting grids. The sources describe nothing about machines, power or pipes for it, so this section covers what the buttons and shortcuts do and which settings the mod describes.[1]
What the grid buttons do
- Rotate: turns the outer circle of the crafting grid.[1]
- Balance: evens out the materials in the grid so the stack sizes match. Hold Shift on the balance button to spread a single stack over the entire grid.[1]
- Clear: moves the contents of the grid into your inventory. A tooltip in the mod's language file says the forced clear "drops items if necessary", so keep some inventory space free.[1][3]
The buttons appear on many supported crafting tables, including many modded ones.[1]
Other shortcuts
- Right-click the result slot to craft a full stack in one go.[1][3]
- Hold the W key while clicking items to transfer them into the grid. Shift+W transfers all items of that type.[1]
- A compress keybind turns stacks of items into their 3x3 or 2x2 recipe result, such as blocks or ingots. It also works in reverse to decompress.[1]
Configuration options
The mod's language file describes several settings. The client-side mode setting decides whether you get buttons, hotkeys, both, or neither:[3]
- DEFAULT enables both buttons and hotkeys.[3]
- BUTTONS enables buttons only.[3]
- HOTKEYS enables hotkeys only.[3]
- DISABLED turns the mod off completely.[3]
The other settings the language file describes are:[3]
- A disabled-addons list lets you add mod ids to turn off Crafting Tweaks support for those mods.[3]
- A right-click option controls whether right-clicking the result slot of a crafting table crafts a full stack.[3]
- You can hide the vanilla recipe book button instead of moving it. If you keep it, two offset options reposition it, one measured from the right and one from the top.[3]
- A compress denylist takes modid:name entries that the compress key will not craft.[3]
- The compress-requires-crafting-grid option can be set to false so (de)compress works outside crafting screens. This only works if the mod is installed on the server and you are in the player inventory.[3]
Installation notes
Crafting Tweaks requires Balm to be installed alongside it. It is also "bi-optional": only the players who want it need to install it, and it still works for them if the server doesn't have it.[1]
Unverified The pack's actual values for these settings (default mode, whether right-click crafts a full stack, the compress denylist and so on) are not shown in the sources here, because no config files for this mod were available. They are set in the mod's own configuration.
Which Crafting Tweaks config options matter?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.11 guide
Here's the short version: this pack ships Crafting Tweaks without any config files, so there are no pack-side values to tune or compare against mod defaults. Everything the mod does is available out of the box.[1]
That means the settings you'll actually adjust live in your controls, not in a config screen. The mod's features are driven by buttons on supported crafting tables and by keybinds, so bind them to whatever feels comfortable and you're done.[1]
What you can control
- Buttons on supported crafting tables let you rotate the outer ring of the grid, balance the materials into even stack sizes, or clear the whole grid back into your inventory.[1]
- Holding shift while clicking the balance button spreads a single stack across the entire grid instead.[1]
- A keybind compresses and decompresses items into their block or ingot forms using the 3x3 or 2x2 recipe.[1]
- Holding the W key while clicking an item transfers it into the grid, and Shift+W transfers everything of that type.[1]
- Right-clicking the result slot crafts a full stack in one go.[1]
One dependency note worth knowing: the mod needs Balm installed alongside it, so don't remove Balm if you're trimming the pack down.[1]
What changed in Crafting Tweaks between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta ships Crafting Tweaks 26.1.2.3, and the mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 11 0.0.1 or earlier. The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs.[4]
Mod releases
- 26.1.0.1: Updated to Minecraft 26.1.[5]
- 26.1.2.1: Fixed the wrong slots sometimes being affected by the compress keybinds (for example in Sophisticated Storage with upgraded slots). Also fixed an error and deleted items when refilling the last stack on containers with an invalid craft matrix.[6]
- 26.1.2.2: Fixed a crash on items with a null remaining item.[7]
- 26.1.2.3: Fixed a crash with abnormal ImageButtons added by other mods. This is the version in the pack right now.[4][8]
The short version: after the Minecraft 26.1 update, the releases have been bug fixes, mostly crash fixes plus fixes for the compress and refill features.[5][6][7][8]

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as craftingtweaks, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
