Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals is a mod in All the Mods 11 0.12.0-beta, where it is version 26.1.2-beta. Ae2wtlib is an addon for ae2 that adds wireless versions of several Terminals (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals?

2 parts

Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals (ae2wtlib) is an addon for AE2 that gives you wireless versions of several AE2 terminals, so you can use your ME network without standing next to it. This pack includes version 26.1.1-beta of the mod. It's for you if you already run an AE2 network and want to reach it while you're out exploring or building.[1][2]

What you get

The mod is a Fabric/Forge port of several older wireless terminal mods. The guide covers a Wireless Crafting Terminal, a Wireless Pattern Encoding Terminal and a Wireless Pattern Access Terminal. The Wireless Universal Terminal combines all of them in one item.[1][3][4]

The universal terminal adds a button to the UI. Left-click it to cycle to the next terminal, or right-click to go back. Each terminal you install adds 2 upgrade slots, and their energy storage adds together. A universal terminal with two terminals has twice the storage of a single one. AE2's own wireless terminal can't be combined into it.[5]

Why it's worth it

The Quantum Bridge Card is the big upgrade. Put it in your terminal along with a singularity, and put the other singularity in a Quantum Bridge connected to your network. The terminal is then quantum linked, which means it can reach your network from anywhere, even across dimensions, as long as the chunks containing the network are loaded. It also recharges automatically from your network, so make sure the network has enough energy storage.[6]

The Wireless Crafting Terminal adds automatic restocking from the ME network and lets Pick Block draw items from it. With a Magnet Card it also acts as a magnet, which can pick up items from a larger range and put them straight into your ME system. Restocking only works while you're in range of an access point or your terminal is quantum linked.[3][7][8]

Unverified The sources I have don't show where this mod fits in the pack's progression. They show no quests that involve it and no place for it on the ATM Star path, so check in-game before planning around it.

How do you get started with Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals?

5 parts

AE2 Wireless Terminals (ae2wtlib) is an addon for Applied Energistics 2 that adds wireless versions of several AE2 terminals. The big draw is the Quantum Bridge Card, which lets a terminal reach your network from anywhere, even across dimensions. Here is the order I'd go in.[1]

Start with a wireless terminal

The Wireless Crafting Terminal is the wireless version of the crafting terminal. On top of the normal terminal it adds automatic restocking from your ME network, and Pick Block can pull items from the network when they aren't in your inventory.[3]

Craft the Quantum Bridge Card

This is the upgrade to make first. Put the Quantum Bridge Card and a singularity in your terminal, and put the other singularity in a Quantum Bridge connected to your network. The terminal is then Quantum Linked: it works from anywhere, even across dimensions, and recharges from your network.[6]

Watch out: For cross-dimension access, the chunks holding your network must be loaded. Also make sure the network has enough energy storage, since the terminal recharges from it.[6]

Restocking only works while you are in range of an access point, or when the terminal is quantum linked. The card therefore lets restocking work wherever you are.[8]

Add the Magnet Card

The Magnet Card gives your terminal a magnet. It picks up items from a larger range and can put them straight into your ME system instead of your inventory. You can toggle and filter each behavior separately, and there is a keybinding to turn the magnet on or off. The Wireless Crafting Terminal accepts it as an upgrade.[3][7]

Combine them

When you have several terminals, you can combine them into one Wireless Universal Terminal. It adds a button that cycles through the installed terminals. Each installed terminal adds 2 upgrade slots, and their energy storage is combined. AE2's own wireless terminal can't be combined into it.[4][5]

How does Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals work?

6 parts

This mod is an addon for Applied Energistics 2 that adds wireless versions of several AE2 terminals. It also adds a Quantum Bridge Card, which lets terminals work from anywhere, even across dimensions, and a wireless universal terminal that holds all the wireless terminals in one item.[1]

Wireless Universal Terminal

The Wireless Universal Terminal combines several wireless terminals into one item. It adds a button to the terminal UI. Left-click it to cycle to the next terminal, or right-click to go back to the previous one.[5]

  • Upgrades: it accepts the same upgrades as the terminals installed in it, and each installed terminal adds 2 upgrade slots.[5]
  • Energy: adding terminals combines their energy storage, so a universal terminal with two terminals holds twice the energy of a single wireless terminal.[5]
  • Addons: most wireless terminals from other addons also work inside the universal terminal.[4]
  • Access: like AE2's own wireless terminal, these terminals can be opened with a keybind and placed in a curio slot, if a mod implementing the curio API is installed.[4]

Wireless Crafting Terminal extras

The Wireless Crafting Terminal is the wireless version of AE2's crafting terminal, with a few additions. It supports automatic restocking from your ME network. It also supports Pick Block pulling items from the network, and it can act as a magnet when it has a Magnet Card installed.[3]

Pick Block works like vanilla, with one addition: if the item isn't in your inventory, the terminal draws it from the network. If your current slot happens to be full, it will also try to store items in the network.[3]

The terminal supports these upgrades:[3]

  • An upgrade that increases the battery capacity.[3]
  • An upgrade that gives the terminal unlimited range, even across dimensions, and charges it automatically from the ME network.[3]
  • An upgrade that adds magnet functionality.[3]

Range and power with the Quantum Bridge Card

Without a Quantum Bridge Card, restocking only works while you are in range of an access point. The Quantum Bridge Card removes that limit by linking your wireless terminal to a Quantum Bridge.[6][8]

  1. Put a Quantum Bridge Card and a singularity in your wireless terminal.[6]
  2. Put the other singularity in a Quantum Bridge that is connected to your network.[6]

Your terminal is now Quantum Linked. It can reach your network from anywhere, even across dimensions, and it recharges automatically from the network's energy. Make sure the network has enough energy storage.[6]

Watch out: Cross-dimension access only works while the chunks containing your network are loaded, for example with a chunk loader.[6]

Magnet Card

The Magnet Card adds a magnet to your wireless terminal. You can toggle it or filter it in the GUI, and there is also a keybinding to switch it on or off.[7]

It does two things: it picks up items from a larger range, and it places picked-up items in the ME system instead of your inventory. You can toggle and filter each of these separately, with a pickup filter and an insert filter. Either filter can be a blacklist or a whitelist.[7]

The in-game guide says the pickup range is configurable and defaults to 16.[7]

Unverified The pickup range of the Magnet Card is set in the mod's config, and the sources here do not show the pack's config for this mod, so the pack's actual range is unverified.

Restocking

With Restock enabled in the GUI or by keybind, your terminal tries to replace items you use with items from the ME system. It keeps the stack you are using at its maximum size, which is 64 for most items. It takes missing items from the network and puts excess items back if you pick up more.[8]

This also means that if you place a few blocks and break them again, they won't spill into another slot. The hotbar count shows the network total plus what is actually in your hotbar.[8]

  • It will not restock a stack that holds only a single item before it is used.[8]
  • It is disabled automatically in creative mode.[8]
  • It works for most actions, such as placing blocks, eating food and shooting a bow. Other actions, especially ones from other mods, might not be recognized, so those items won't be restocked.[8]

Wireless pattern terminals

The mod also adds wireless versions of AE2's pattern terminals. Like any other AE2WTLib terminal, they can be combined into the universal terminal.[4][5]

The Wireless Pattern Access Terminal has its own crafting recipe in the pack.[9]

How do you progress through Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals?

3 parts

Progression with this mod runs from individual wireless terminals, to upgrade cards, to a Wireless Universal Terminal that combines your terminals into one item. The in-pack recipes below show how to craft the main pieces.[4][5][9]

The individual terminals

The mod adds wireless versions of AE2 terminals: a Wireless Crafting Terminal, a Wireless Pattern Encoding Terminal and a Wireless Pattern Access Terminal. The Wireless Crafting Terminal also adds automatic restocking from your ME network, and Pick Block can draw items from the network when they aren't in your inventory.[3][4]

The pack has a shaped crafting recipe for the Wireless Pattern Access Terminal:[9]

Upgrade cards

The Wireless Crafting Terminal accepts upgrades for more battery capacity, unlimited range through the Quantum Bridge Card, and magnet functionality.[3]

The Magnet Card picks up items in a larger range and can place them into your ME system instead of your inventory. Both functions can be toggled and filtered separately, and either filter can be a blacklist or a whitelist. The in-game guide gives the mod's default pickup range as 16 and says it is configurable.[7]

The Quantum Bridge Card links your terminal to a Quantum Bridge. Put the card and a singularity in the terminal, and put the other singularity in a Quantum Bridge on your network. The terminal can then reach your network from anywhere, even across dimensions, and recharges from the network. The chunks holding the network need to be loaded, and the network needs enough energy storage.[6]

Tip: Restocking only works while you are in range of an access point or your terminal is quantum linked. If you want restocking to work everywhere, the Quantum Bridge Card is the upgrade to prioritize.[6][8]

The Wireless Universal Terminal

All of the mod's wireless terminals can be combined into one Wireless Universal Terminal. It adds a button to the UI that cycles between the installed terminals. AE2's own Wireless Terminal can't be combined into it.[4][5]

Each installed terminal adds 2 upgrade slots, and the Universal Terminal accepts the same upgrades as the terminals inside it. Adding terminals also combines their energy storage, so one with two terminals has twice the storage of a single wireless terminal.[5]

What changed in Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals between versions?

2 parts

All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta ships Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals 26.1.1-beta. The mod has been in the pack since 0.3.0-beta or earlier. The sources I have give no pack changelog entries for this mod, so this section only covers the mod's own changelogs for the two releases below.[2]

26.1.1-beta (the version in this pack)

This release is all bug fixes. Here is what it fixed:[10]

  • Pick Block probably not working on dedicated servers (#381).[10]
  • Pick Block not visually switching to the correct slot.[10]
  • JEI recipe transfer not working (#382).[10]
  • The Universal Terminal recipe not showing in JEI or the recipe book.[10]

26.1.0-beta

  • Port to 26.1.[11]
  • Added buttons to switch to terminals directly. The changelog marks this as work in progress and says it is based on #375.[11]

If you were missing the Universal Terminal recipe in JEI or the recipe book, or JEI recipe transfer wasn't working, 26.1.1-beta is the release that fixed it, and that is the version you get in 0.8.0-beta.[2][10]
