What is Additional Enchanted Miner?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide

Additional Enchanted Miner adds advanced miners in the spirit of BuildCraft's quarry. The twist is that these machines can carry enchantments, so you can set them up to collect resources automatically with Fortune or Silk Touch.[1]

This pack ships version 21.1.116 of the mod for NeoForge. It has been in the pack since 0.42 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list.[2]

What it's good for

  • Automated mining with enchantments: the machines can use Fortune or Silk Touch to collect resources without you standing there.[1]
  • Fluid handling: QuarryPlus removes fluids with Pump Plus or a Pump Module. The more advanced Chunk Destroyer removes fluids without any settings.[1]
  • Flexible power: the machines accept EU and Forge Energy.[1]
Tip: The mod requires Scalable Cat's Force on every platform. If you ever build a custom setup around this mod, make sure that dependency comes along.[1]

Where it fits in the pack

Unverified The sources I have don't say where in the pack's progression this mod fits, and they don't cover any quests or an ATM Star route for it. Treat any claims about its place in progression as unconfirmed.

How do you get started with Additional Enchanted Miner?

3 parts

Additional Enchanted Miner adds advanced miners in the style of BC's quarry. They collect resources automatically, and they can have enchantments such as Fortune or Silk Touch. We start with Quarry Plus, because the pack adds its own recipe for it. Here is the order I'd go in.[1][3]

Step one: make the Quarry Plus

The recipe for Quarry Plus is one the pack adds itself through a script, so use the block below as the source of truth for what it costs here.[3]

Plan your power before you place it. The machines accept EU and Forge Energy, so have a source of one of those ready.[1]

Step two: make a marker

Next, craft a Marker Plus. The Flexible Marker is the other option, and its tooltip shows an area readout so you can see what you've selected.[3][4]

Step three: add modules as you need them

Once the quarry is running, the modules are your upgrades. Start with whichever problem you hit first.[1][4]

How does Additional Enchanted Miner work?

6 parts

Additional Enchanted Miner adds miners in the style of BuildCraft's quarry. They can mine with Fortune or Silk Touch, so you collect resources automatically instead of digging by hand. The sources here only describe the mod's systems in broad strokes, so this section sticks to what they confirm.[1]

The Quarry and how it's made

The main machine is the Quarry Plus. The pack adds its own crafting recipe for it with a script, so the recipe below is the pack's version.[3]

Power

According to the mod's project page, its machines can accept EU and Forge Energy.[1]

Setting the mining area

The mod has several marker items for defining the work area: Marker Plus, Flexible Marker and Chunk Marker. The Flexible Marker's tooltip shows the selected area as two corner coordinates. It can also show a remote position together with its dimension.[3][4]

The pack has a recipe for the Flexible Marker made from a Chunk Marker, and another for the Chunk Marker made from a Flexible Marker, so you can swap between them.[3]

Modules

Modules are installed into a machine to change what it does. These are the ones the sources describe.[4]

  • Faster Work Module: its tooltip says it makes the machine work faster.[3][4]
  • Remove Bedrock Module: install it to a machine to remove bedrock. On a Quarry, you toggle this by right-clicking the Quarry with the module, as the Quarry screen's tooltip says.[3][4]
  • Void Module (shown in-game as Void Module): right-click to register, and it removes the items the quarry mines.[3][4]
  • Quarry Pump Module: the project page says fluids are removed by Pump Plus or the Pump Module.[1][3]

Handling fluids

The project page says the Quarry removes fluids automatically when used with Pump Plus or the Pump Module. The Quarry screen also has a checkbox to remove fluids in the area. A more advanced machine, the Chunk Destroyer, removes fluids without any settings.[1][4]

There is also a standalone pump block. Its tooltip says to place it above a fluid block. Its GUI has a toggle: when on, fluids are sent to void, and when off, fluids are moved to a tank.[4]

Tip: The standalone pump's tooltip says the void option is useful for removing water.[4]

How do you progress through Additional Enchanted Miner?

3 parts

Here's the honest picture for this pack: the sources I have don't describe a tiered progression for this mod, so I'm not going to invent one. What I can confirm is which items have crafting recipes and which recipe the pack itself added.[3]

Unverified The sources here show no quests in this pack that involve this mod, and it is not shown on the ATM Star quest path. So there is no quest-driven order to follow, and the in-pack recipes are the only guide to what you can build.

The Quarry is a pack recipe

The recipe for Quarry Plus was added by the pack through KubeJS, so it is the pack's own version rather than the mod's. The shaped recipe is below, so you see exactly what this pack asks for.[3]

Unverified No in-jar guidebook was found for this mod, so the sources here do not show what each module does or how the pack balances them. Check the recipe viewer in game for the exact ingredients.
