Shrink in All the Mods 10

Shrink lets you make yourself small. In this pack the way in is the Personal Shrinking Device, and the pack's quest text says it's helpful for working on automation and also just overall fun.^[1]

This pack ships Shrink version 2.0.1.47 for NeoForge. It has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the modpack.^[2]

Who it's for

If you're building automation and want a closer look at your setups, this is a handy tool to have. It's also fine if you just want to mess around, because the quest calls it overall fun.^[1]

Where it fits in the pack

You'll find it in the Tips and Tricks quest chapter, in the quest "Personal Shrinking Device" quest (titled Honey I Shrunk Myself). The quest task is to obtain the Personal Shrinking Device. It's a tip rather than a progression gate, and the sources don't show it as a requirement for anything else.^[1]

Shrink is not on the ATM Star quest path, so you don't need it for that route.^[1]

Unverified The sources don't cover how to obtain the Personal Shrinking Device, how its shrinking works (size, duration, controls), or any config options, so those details are unconfirmed here.

Getting started with Shrink is simple, because there is one item to make first: the Personal Shrinking Device. The pack's quest for it is called "Honey I Shrunk Myself" and sits in the Tips and Tricks chapter. See "Personal Shrinking Device" quest.^[1]

Step 1: craft the Personal Shrinking Device

The quest says you use this item to shrink. It calls the device helpful for working on automation and also just overall fun, so it is worth making early.^[1]

The pack has changed this recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's default. The block below shows the exact recipe used in this pack.^[3]

This is the pack's changed recipe, not the mod default.

Step 2: try capturing a shrunken entity

The mod's tooltip says you can right-click a shrunken entity with a glass bottle to capture it. It is the one other interaction the sources here confirm.^[4]

The sources for Shrink only cover a small part of the mod, so this section is short. They describe one crafted item and one capture interaction, and nothing about machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation.^[3][4]

The Personal Shrinking Device

The Personal Shrinking Device is crafted in a normal crafting grid with a shaped recipe. The pack changes this recipe from the mod's default, so use the one below rather than anything you remember from other packs.^[3]

Capturing shrunken entities

The mod's bottle tooltip tells you to right-click a shrunken entity with a glass bottle to capture it.^[4]

For this mod, the pack's quests and recipes show a single item and no tier ladder: the Personal Shrinking Device. So the progression here is one step, getting that device.^[1][3]

Where the quest book puts it

The quest "Personal Shrinking Device" quest is in the Tips and Tricks chapter, with the subtitle "Honey I Shrunk Myself". Its task is the Personal Shrinking Device item. The quest text says to use the item to shrink, that it's helpful for working on automation, and that it's also just overall fun.^[1]

Crafting the device

The pack changes the recipe for the device, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. It's a shaped crafting recipe, and this is the exact in-pack version:^[3]

Shrink only shows up in one quest chapter in this pack: Tips and Tricks. There's a single quest for it, so there's no chain of steps to follow.^[1]

Tips and Tricks: Personal Shrinking Device

The quest "Personal Shrinking Device" quest is titled "Honey I Shrunk Myself". Its task is simply to obtain the Personal Shrinking Device, so you just need to have the item in hand to complete it.^[1]

The quest text says you use the device to shrink yourself, and calls it helpful for working on automation as well as just plain fun.^[1]

Unverified The quest's reward and any quest prerequisites aren't shown in the available data, so the order in which you unlock it within the chapter is unconfirmed.

Here's what the pack's records show for Shrink. Shrink has been in All the Mods 10 since version 2.25 or earlier, and All the Mods 10 8.1 ships version 2.0.1.47 (the NeoForge jar).^[2]

Pack changes

• All the Mods 10 2.42 updated Shrink from 2.0.0.44 to 2.0.1.47. That is the version you have in 8.1.^[2][5]

Unverified What actually changed between Shrink 2.0.0.44 and 2.0.1.47 is unverified. No changelogs for the shipped jars were available, so I can't say whether that update added features, fixed bugs or changed any behavior.
