Polymorphic Energistics in All the Mods 10

Polymorphic Energistics is a small add-on that connects Polymorph with Applied Energistics 2. It adds Polymorph's recipe selection button to two AE2 screens: the Crafting Terminal and the Pattern Encoding Terminal.^[1]

Why does that matter? In modded Minecraft, several crafting recipes can often use the same ingredients. Without this mod, AE2 forces you to work with only one of those conflicting recipes. With it, you can use the button to choose which recipe you want.^[1]

Who it is for

If you build with AE2 and craft or encode patterns in these terminals, this mod is for you. It is most useful when the ingredients you put in match more than one recipe and you need a specific result. It adds a button to the terminals you already use, so there is no new machine or block to learn.^[1]

In this pack

The pack includes Polymorphic Energistics 0.4.1. It has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the AE2 setup.^[2]

Unverified The sources I have do not say where this mod fits in the pack's progression, whether it is on the ATM Star path, or whether any quests involve it. Treat it as a quality-of-life add-on for AE2 terminals rather than a progression milestone.

Good news: there's nothing to craft to get started with Polymorphic Energistics. It's an add-on that adds Polymorph support to two Applied Energistics 2 terminals, the Crafting Terminal and the Pattern Encoding Terminal.^[1]

What it does for you

When two crafting recipes conflict, Applied Energistics 2 on its own forces you to work with just one of them. This add-on puts Polymorph's recipe selection button on those two terminals, so you can choose which of the conflicting recipes you want.^[1]

Your first steps

1. Set up Applied Energistics 2 and get a Crafting Terminal or a Pattern Encoding Terminal. The add-on works through these two terminals, so you need at least one of them.^[1]
2. Open the terminal and look for Polymorph's recipe selection button. It's what you use to pick between conflicting crafting recipes.^[1]
3. When you hit a recipe conflict, choose the version you want with that button. This applies both when crafting and when encoding patterns.^[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm any in-pack recipes, quests, config options or items for this add-on, so there are no recipe blocks here. Where exactly the button sits on each terminal and how it behaves in detail is also unverified.

Polymorphic Energistics is a small add-on, so there are no machines, multiblocks or power systems to learn here. It adds Polymorph support to two Applied Energistics 2 terminals: the Crafting Terminal and the Pattern Encoding Terminal.^[1]

What it changes

Normally, when several crafting recipes conflict (same ingredients, different results), AE2 forces you to work with only one of them. With this mod, both terminals get Polymorph's recipe selection button, so you can choose which of the conflicting recipes you want.^[1]

• Crafting Terminal: gets Polymorph's recipe selection button, so you can pick between conflicting crafting recipes.^[1]
• Pattern Encoding Terminal: gets the same button, so you can choose the recipe you want before encoding a crafting pattern.^[1]

What the sources don't cover

Unverified The available information doesn't describe how the button looks or behaves in detail, and it doesn't cover any config options, power or fluid handling, or automation behavior for this mod. In this pack, no config files or recipes for the mod's own items were found, so treat anything beyond the terminal button as unconfirmed.

All the Mods 10 8.1 ships Polymorphic Energistics 0.4.1. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 0.32 or earlier, so it's not a recent addition.^[2]

0.4.1

• Added slight integration with AE2WTLib. The Polymorph widget now sits below the output slot of a wireless crafting terminal instead of above it, so it no longer overlaps the crafting item return widgets.^[3]

If you use a wireless crafting terminal, that's the change you'll notice: the widget has moved out of the way of the return buttons.^[3]
