Nature's Compass in All the Mods 10

Nature's Compass is a biome finder. It lets you search for a biome anywhere in the world and read information about it. It supports every registered biome, vanilla and modded, so it also works for biomes added by other mods in the pack.^[1]

How the search is tuned in this pack

These config options control how far and how thoroughly the compass searches. General.radiusModifier is set to 2,500 here, and the maximum search radius is the biome size multiplied by that value. General.sampleSpaceModifier is set to 16, and the sample space is the biome size multiplied by that value. Lowering it makes the search more accurate but more resource intensive.^[5]

General.maxSamples caps how many samples are taken when searching for a biome. This pack sets it to 50,000. Raising General.radiusModifier also increases search accuracy.^[5]

Restrictions and teleporting

• General.biomeBlacklist is empty in this pack, so no biome is blocked from searches. If it is filled in, it takes resource locations, and the wildcard * matches any number of characters while ? matches one.^[5]
• General.allowTeleport is false in this pack. If it were enabled, a player in creative mode, opped, or in cheat mode could teleport to a located biome. Here, that option is off.^[5]
