What is FramedBlocks?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
FramedBlocks is a building mod. It adds blocks in lots of different shapes that can be made to look like almost any other block in the game. If you like detailed builds, this is the mod that lets you get the shape you want in the material you want.[1]
This pack includes FramedBlocks version 10.6.1.[2]
What you get
The shape list is huge. Besides the basic Framed Cube, you get slopes, corner slopes, prisms, slabs, panels, stairs, walls, fences, doors, trapdoors, pressure plates, buttons, levers, signs, torches, ladders, chests, bars, panes, rail slopes and more. Many shapes also have double, divided or flat-corner variants.[1]
How you use it
- Right click a framed block with almost any solid block to make it look like that block.[1]
- Right click with Glowstone Dust to make the framed block produce light.[1]
- Right click with a Framed Hammer to remove the camo.[1]
- The Framed Wrench rotates framed blocks, and the Framed Screwdriver cycles through different states of the camo block.[1]
- The Framed Blueprint copies framed blocks, including their camo and glowing state. It does not copy the rotation of the block itself.[1]
Config defaults to know about
The project page lists some mod defaults. Applying a camo consumes the item and removing it drops the item again. Blocks with block entities can't be placed inside framed blocks, and the intangibility feature (Phantom Membrane by default) is switched off. These are the mod's defaults, not confirmed values for this pack.[1]
Unverified The sources don't show where FramedBlocks fits into this pack's progression. No quests involving it and no ATM Star path entry were confirmed, and no in-jar guidebook was found. Whether the pack changes any of its recipes or config values is also unconfirmed.
How do you get started with FramedBlocks?
4 parts
FramedBlocks adds blocks in all sorts of shapes that can be made to look like almost any other block in the game. The shape list is huge: slopes, slabs, panels, stairs, pillars, doors, chests and much more. So instead of trying to learn everything at once, get a few key pieces first and let the rest open up from there.[1]
Step 1: The Framed Cube
Your very first craft is the Framed Cube. It's the basic full-block frame, and it's also the starting point for a lot of other blocks in this pack. The Framed Chest, Framed Door, Framed Button, Framed Bars, Framed Bookshelf, Framed Bouncy Cube and Framed Collapsible Block are all crafted from it. Make a stack early and you'll be able to branch out quickly.[3]

The base block most of your first builds start from.
Step 2: Your Framed Hammer and Framed Wrench
Next, get the two tools. The Framed Hammer is used in crafting to turn one shape into a variant of it. For example, it turns a Framed Slab into a Framed Centered Slab and a Framed Slope into a Framed Corner Slope. In the world, you can hit blocks with it to toggle whether they're waterloggable, and hit a Framed Item Frame with it to switch its background between leather and the camo.[3][4]
The Framed Wrench is for rotating. In a crafting grid it flips a shape into its rotated counterpart, like a Framed Centered Panel into a Framed Centered Slab, or a Framed Double Stairs into Framed Vertical Double Stairs. On placed blocks you can use it to switch which faces a sloped block uses, or to set the see-through side of a One-Way Window.[3][4]
Unverified The crafting recipes for the Framed Hammer and Framed Wrench don't appear in the recipe data available here. Check them in-game with your recipe viewer. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Step 3: The Framed Blueprint
Once you've got a few framed blocks set up the way you like, craft a Framed Blueprint. It copies framed blocks so you can place them again. Heads up: it tells you when you're missing the materials it needs, some blocks can't be copied, and blocks with fluid camos can't be copied at all right now.[3][4]

Good early blocks to try
- The Framed Chest lets your storage blend right into your build.[1][3]
- The Framed Door is a door that can match the rest of your walls.[1][3]
- The Framed Collapsible Block also unlocks the Framed Adjustable Double Slab and Framed Adjustable Double Panel.[1][3]

Unverified The mod's text also mentions a Framing Saw and a Powered Saw for making framed blocks, but their recipes and exact use aren't shown in the data available here. How you apply a camo to a framed block isn't covered either, so check in-game.
How does FramedBlocks work?
6 parts
FramedBlocks has no machines, power or multiblocks in the usual sense. Its whole system is about camouflage: you place a framed shape, then give it the look of almost any other block in the game. Once you understand how camos work and what each tool does, you can build pretty much any detail you want.[1]
The camo system
Every framed block starts as a bare frame. You apply and remove camos by right-clicking the block with different items:[1]
- Right-click with almost any solid block to make the framed block look like it.[1]
- Right-click with a filled fluid container to make it look like that fluid.[1]
- Right-click with Glowstone Dust to make the block give off light.[1]
- Right-click with the Framed Hammer to remove the camo.[1]
- Right-click with an empty fluid container to remove a fluid camo.[1]
Some camos can be rotated inside the frame and some can't. The block's tooltip tells you whether the camo you're targeting can be rotated, so check it before you try to line up log grain or pillar textures.[4]
Waterlogging is also toggleable on some framed blocks. The tooltip shows whether a block is waterloggable, and hitting it with a Framed Hammer switches it between waterloggable and not waterloggable.[4]
The tools
The Framed Hammer removes camos, but it does more than that. On prism corners, left-clicking toggles the texture offset. On the Framed Item Frame, hitting it switches the background between leather and the camo.[1][4]
The Framed Wrench rotates framed blocks. On most blocks, the direction of rotation depends on which face you click. It also controls block-specific options. On the Framed One-Way Window, you hit a face to make it the see-through side, or crouch and hit to clear it. On some sloped blocks, you hit the block to switch which faces are used for the sloped surfaces.[1][4]
The Framed Screwdriver cycles through the different states of the camo block. Use it when you want a different variant of the same camo without swapping the block.[1]
Unverified Wrench items from other mods may also be able to rotate framed blocks through a shared wrench tag, but the tag used in this pack's version has not been confirmed.
Copying builds with the Framed Blueprint
The Framed Blueprint copies a framed block along with its camo and its glowing state, so you don't have to re-camo every piece by hand. It does not copy the rotation of the framed block itself. Placing a copy uses real items: if you're missing any, the blueprint tells you which materials you still need.[1][4]

Special block behaviours
Prism corners (normal, inner and double) turn on a texture offset automatically when placed, based on their position. This lets them fit together cleanly across a larger surface. The tooltip shows whether the triangle texture is offset by half a block, and you can toggle it with the hammer if you don't want the offset.[1][4]
Some blocks with deformed faces also show which diagonal the face's split-line runs along: the steep one or the shallow one. This is handy when you're lining up sloped surfaces.[4]
The Framed Item Frame and Framed Glow Item Frame can use either leather or their camo as the background. The Framed Glowing Cube glows in the dark without emitting light, and the Framed Target's markings can be dyed.[1][4]
The mod also has a Framed Reinforcement item, and there's a client-side display mode for its overlay.[4]
Unverified What Framed Reinforcement does to a framed block, and how you apply it, is not confirmed.
Shape conversions in the crafting grid
Many shapes in this pack aren't built from scratch. Instead, you convert one framed shape into a related one. For example, a centered panel and a centered slab can be crafted back and forth, and a slope can be crafted into a corner slope. The recipes below show exactly what each conversion needs.[3]

The collapsible blocks work the same way. The Framed Collapsible Block crafts into the Framed Adjustable Double Slab and Framed Adjustable Double Panel. The Framed Collapsible Copycat Block crafts into their copycat versions.[3]

The Framing Saw and Powered Saw
The Framing Saw is a crafting station for framed shapes. When you can't make something, its tooltips tell you exactly why: the wrong item, not enough items, or not enough material. It also shows the result size and the maximum size.[4]
For automation, the Framing Saw has an AE2 Pattern Encoding mode, so you can turn saw recipes into patterns for an AE2 system. There's also a Powered Saw. You set its recipe by clicking the target slot with any framed block, and until you do, it reports that no recipe is selected.[4]
Unverified How the Powered Saw is powered, how it takes items in and out, and whether the pack changes either saw's recipes are not confirmed.
How do you progress through FramedBlocks?
5 parts
FramedBlocks doesn't have machine tiers or power levels. Its progression is a crafting tree. You start with one basic framed block, then turn it into more complex shapes, and you can use a regular crafting table the whole way. Every recipe visible in this pack's recipe dump is the mod's own recipe, so the pack hasn't swapped in custom ones for these.[3]
Step one: the Framed Cube
Your first goal is the Framed Cube. It's cheap and early-game, and it's the root of the whole tree. Most of the other framed items trace back to it.[3]

Once you have cubes, a big group of blocks branches directly off them. These include the Framed Chest, Framed Door, Framed Bars, Framed Button, Framed Corner Pillar and Framed Collapsible Block. A few of them, like the Framed Bookshelf, Framed Bouncy Cube and Framed Blueprint, also need a common vanilla material alongside the cube.[3]

Step two: collapsible and copycat blocks
The Framed Collapsible Block is its own mini-branch. From it you craft the Framed Adjustable Double Slab and Framed Adjustable Double Panel. The copycat version, Framed Collapsible Copycat Block, does the same job for the Framed Adjustable Double Copycat Slab and Framed Adjustable Double Copycat Panel.[3]

Uses a copper ingot tag, so any copper ingot that fits the tag works.
Step three: the Hammer and the Wrench
Two tools show up again and again in recipes. You combine the Framed Hammer with a basic shape to reshape it into a new one. For example, it turns a Framed Slope into a Framed Corner Slope, a Framed Panel into a Framed Centered Panel, and a Framed Slope Panel into a Framed Compound Slope Panel.[3]

The Framed Wrench is for rotating a block into its sideways twin. It flips a Framed Centered Slab into a Framed Centered Panel and back again, turns Framed Double Stairs into Framed Vertical Double Stairs, and turns a Framed Elevated Slope Slab into a Framed Extended Slope Panel.[3]

Unverified The recipes for the Framed Hammer and Framed Wrench themselves aren't in the part of the recipe dump available here. It's also unconfirmed whether these tools get used up when you craft with them.
Step four: double blocks
The top of the tree is the double blocks, which pair two matching halves into one block. You make the Framed Double Corner from a corner slope and an inner corner slope. The Framed Double Prism Corner, Framed Double Threeway Corner and Framed Elevated Double Slope Edge follow the same pattern with their own pieces.[3]

Some of these chains run several steps deep. Here's one path to the Framed Extended Double Corner Slope Panel:[3]
- Craft a Framed Corner Pillar, either from Framed Cubes or from a Framed Pillar.[3]
- Combine it with the Framed Hammer and a Framed Large Corner Slope Panel to get the Framed Extended Corner Slope Panel.[3]
- Pair that with a Framed Large Inner Corner Slope Panel to finish the Framed Extended Double Corner Slope Panel.[3]

Side branch: rail slopes
If you're building minecart lines, the Framed Slope can be upgraded into rail variants like the Framed Activator Rail Slope and Framed Detector Rail Slope.[3]

What changed in FramedBlocks between versions?
In All the Mods 10 2.23, FramedBlocks ships as version 10.2.1, in the jar file FramedBlocks-10.2.1.jar. If you're comparing notes with someone on a different pack version, that's the build to check against.[5]
FramedBlocks isn't a recent addition to the pack either: it was first included in All the Mods 10 1.9 or earlier, so it has been part of the pack for a good stretch of its releases.[5]
Unverified There are no pack changelog entries or mod changelogs available for FramedBlocks here, so the specific changes between versions (new blocks, fixes or recipe tweaks across pack updates) can't be confirmed for this guide.
