What is CosmeticArmorReworked?

CosmeticArmorReworked is part of the pack. This version ships with CosmeticArmorReworked 1.21.1-v1-neoforge, the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1.[1]

It isn't new here. The pack has included it since version 0.32 or earlier, so it has been part of the lineup for a long time.[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm from the available sources what the mod does in detail, who it is best suited for, or whether the pack changed any of its settings. I'm not going to guess. Check in-game before relying on any specific behavior.

Unverified No sources show the mod on the ATM Star path, and none show any pack quests that involve it. Treat it as optional and outside the guided progression until that is confirmed.

How do you get started with CosmeticArmorReworked?

1 part

There isn't a crafting chain to follow for this mod. What the pack does show is how its config is set, so that's the best place to start. It tells you what to expect from the cosmetic armor inventory, the coshat command and what happens to your cosmetic slots when you die.[2]

Unverified The sources here show no quests and no recipes for this mod, so I can't name a first item to craft or a quest to begin with. If the pack adds any, they would be told in the quest book or shown in the recipe viewer, and the sources here do not confirm either. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

What the pack's config tells you

The pack's common config file for the mod sets each option to false. Here is what each one means for you.[2]

Watch out: Because Common.CosArmorKeepThroughDeath is false in this pack, don't assume your cosmetic armor slots are protected if you die. Keep that in mind before you put something you love in there.[2]

How does CosmeticArmorReworked work?

3 parts

CosmeticArmorReworked doesn't add machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation that the sources describe. What the pack files do show is how the cosmetic armor inventory is opened and a few rules you can toggle, so that is all this section covers.[2][3]

Opening the cosmetic armor inventory

The mod puts a button on the player inventory screen that opens the cosmetic armor inventory. It has its own button in the creative inventory too. You can hide either one with Client.CosArmorGuiButton_Hidden and Client.CosArmorCreativeGuiButton_Hidden. The pack sets both to false, so both buttons are visible.[3]

A third button temporarily toggles the mod on the client side. It is controlled by Client.CosArmorToggleButton_Hidden, which the pack also leaves at false.[3]

Button positions

Each button's position is set by a Left and a Top value, measured in pixels from the origin of the relevant inventory screen. If a button overlaps another mod's GUI element, you can move it with these values.[3]

Gameplay rules in the common config

Tip: If you play on a server, the death rule and the coshat command setting live in the common config, while the button settings are client-side. Change the right file for what you want to adjust.[2][3]

Unverified What the coshat command does exactly, how cosmetic slots interact with real armor, and what happens to items in cosmetic slots on death are not explained by the available sources, so they are unconfirmed.

Which CosmeticArmorReworked config options matter?

3 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

CosmeticArmorReworked has a small set of options, split between a common file and a client file. The pack keeps every button position at the mod default, so the layout you see is the stock one.[4][5]

Gameplay options (common file)

These live in the common config and are the ones most likely to change how the mod plays. The pack leaves every one of them at false.[5]

Button visibility (client file)

The client file has a Hidden option for the inventory button, the creative inventory button and the toggle button. The pack sets each of these to false, so those buttons are shown. These are the options to flip if a button gets in your way.[4]

Button positions (client file)

Button positions are set as pixel offsets from the origin of the relevant GUI. The pack uses the mod default for every one of them, so if you move a button, you are changing the stock layout.[4]

Tip: If a button overlaps with another mod's inventory buttons, try adjusting its Left and Top values rather than hiding it, so you keep quick access to your cosmetic slots.[4]
