What is CosmeticArmorReworked?

CosmeticArmorReworked is included in this pack as version 1.21.1-v1-neoforge, shipped as the file cosmeticarmorreworked-1.21.1-v1-neoforge.jar. It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list.[1]

Unverified The sources for this guide don't describe what CosmeticArmorReworked does in detail, how its features work, or who benefits most from it. There's no guidebook or platform description to confirm any of that, so I'm not going to guess.

Unverified I couldn't confirm where the mod fits in the pack's progression, whether it appears on the ATM Star path, or whether any quests involve it. Check in-game before relying on any of those.

How do you get started with CosmeticArmorReworked?

2 parts

CosmeticArmorReworked adds a cosmetic armor inventory, so the pack's config is the main thing to know when you start. The sources I have for this mod only cover its common config file, so this section stays short.[2]

What the pack's config sets

Watch out: Because keeping cosmetic armor through death is turned off in this pack, don't leave a cosmetic piece you care about in its slot while you take risks. Check your cosmetic slots before heading into danger.[2]

What I can't confirm

Unverified The sources I was given don't include any recipes or quests for this mod, so I can't tell you which items to craft first or in what order.

How does CosmeticArmorReworked work?

2 parts

CosmeticArmorReworked is a cosmetic armor mod, and the only information available for it in this pack is its two config files. So this section covers what those files show: the inventory buttons and a few rules about the cosmetic armor inventory. I'm not going to guess beyond that.[2][3]

Buttons and the cosmetic armor inventory

You open the cosmetic armor inventory with a button on the screen. The pack leaves every button visible, and each one has a position setting measured in pixels from the origin point of the inventory screen it sits on.[3]

Tip: If a button is in the way of another mod's GUI elements, you can hide it or move it using the Hidden, Left and Top options in the client config. These are client-side settings, so they only change what you see.[3]

Common settings

The common config has three switches. The pack leaves all of them at false.[2]

Unverified This mod has no documented machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item automation in the available sources. Nothing about how cosmetic slots interact with armor rendering, hoppers or other mods' inventories could be confirmed here.

Which CosmeticArmorReworked config options matter?

3 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

CosmeticArmorReworked has a small set of options, split between a common file and a client file. The pack keeps every button position at the mod default, so the layout you see is the stock one.[4][5]

Gameplay options (common file)

These live in the common config and are the ones most likely to change how the mod plays. The pack leaves every one of them at false.[5]

Button visibility (client file)

The client file has a Hidden option for the inventory button, the creative inventory button and the toggle button. The pack sets each of these to false, so those buttons are shown. These are the options to flip if a button gets in your way.[4]

Button positions (client file)

Button positions are set as pixel offsets from the origin of the relevant GUI. The pack uses the mod default for every one of them, so if you move a button, you are changing the stock layout.[4]

Tip: If a button overlaps with another mod's inventory buttons, try adjusting its Left and Top values rather than hiding it, so you keep quick access to your cosmetic slots.[4]
