What is CosmeticArmorReworked?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 6.2.1 guide
This pack includes CosmeticArmorReworked, version 1.21.1-v1-neoforge, built for NeoForge. It isn't a recent addition either: it has been part of the pack's mod list for a long time.[1]
Unverified The name suggests the mod adds cosmetic armor slots, letting you show one set of armor while wearing another for protection. This, along with who the mod is aimed at and where it fits in the pack's progression, could not be confirmed from the available sources.
How do you get started with CosmeticArmorReworked?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
There isn't a crafting chain to follow for this mod. What the pack does show is how its config is set, so that's the best place to start. It tells you what to expect from the cosmetic armor inventory, the coshat command and what happens to your cosmetic slots when you die.[2]
Unverified The sources here show no quests and no recipes for this mod, so I can't name a first item to craft or a quest to begin with. If the pack adds any, they would be told in the quest book or shown in the recipe viewer, and the sources here do not confirm either. This site does hold FTB StoneBlock 4's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
What the pack's config tells you
The pack's common config file for the mod sets each option to false. Here is what each one means for you.[2]
- Common.CosArmorDisableCosHatCommand is false, so the coshat command is not disabled in this pack.[2]
- Common.CosArmorDisableRecipeBook is false, so the recipe book in the cosmetic armor inventory is not disabled.[2]
- Common.CosArmorKeepThroughDeath is false. This option controls whether items in cosmetic armor slots are kept when you die, and the pack has it switched off.[2]
How does CosmeticArmorReworked work?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
CosmeticArmorReworked doesn't add machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation that the sources describe. What the pack files do show is how the cosmetic armor inventory is opened and a few rules you can toggle, so that is all this section covers.[2][3]
Opening the cosmetic armor inventory
The mod puts a button on the player inventory screen that opens the cosmetic armor inventory. It has its own button in the creative inventory too. You can hide either one with Client.CosArmorGuiButton_Hidden and Client.CosArmorCreativeGuiButton_Hidden. The pack sets both to false, so both buttons are visible.[3]
A third button temporarily toggles the mod on the client side. It is controlled by Client.CosArmorToggleButton_Hidden, which the pack also leaves at false.[3]
Button positions
Each button's position is set by a Left and a Top value, measured in pixels from the origin of the relevant inventory screen. If a button overlaps another mod's GUI element, you can move it with these values.[3]
- Inventory button: Client.CosArmorGuiButton_Left is 65 and Client.CosArmorGuiButton_Top is 67, both the same as the mod default.[3]
- Creative inventory button: Client.CosArmorCreativeGuiButton_Left is 95 and Client.CosArmorCreativeGuiButton_Top is 38, both the same as the mod default.[3]
- Toggle button: Client.CosArmorToggleButton_Left is 59 and Client.CosArmorToggleButton_Top is 72, both the same as the mod default.[3]
Gameplay rules in the common config
- Common.CosArmorKeepThroughDeath decides whether items in cosmetic armor slots are kept when you die. The pack sets it to false, so cosmetic slots are not set to be kept through death.[2]
- Common.CosArmorDisableCosHatCommand controls whether the coshat command is disabled. The pack sets it to false, so the command is not disabled.[2]
- Common.CosArmorDisableRecipeBook controls whether the recipe book is disabled inside the cosmetic armor inventory. The pack sets it to false, so the recipe book is not disabled there.[2]
Unverified What the coshat command does exactly, how cosmetic slots interact with real armor, and what happens to items in cosmetic slots on death are not explained by the available sources, so they are unconfirmed.
Which CosmeticArmorReworked config options matter?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
CosmeticArmorReworked has a small set of options, split between a common file and a client file. The pack keeps every button position at the mod default, so the layout you see is the stock one.[4][5]
Gameplay options (common file)
These live in the common config and are the ones most likely to change how the mod plays. The pack leaves every one of them at false.[5]
- Common.CosArmorKeepThroughDeath is false. The option controls whether items in cosmetic armor slots are kept when you die, so with it off in this pack, that protection is not enabled.[5]
- Common.CosArmorDisableCosHatCommand is false. That means the coshat command is not disabled.[5]
- Common.CosArmorDisableRecipeBook is false. The recipe book in the cosmetic armor inventory is not disabled.[5]
Button visibility (client file)
The client file has a Hidden option for the inventory button, the creative inventory button and the toggle button. The pack sets each of these to false, so those buttons are shown. These are the options to flip if a button gets in your way.[4]
- Client.CosArmorGuiButton_Hidden controls the button that opens the cosmetic armor inventory.[4]
- Client.CosArmorCreativeGuiButton_Hidden controls the button for opening the cosmetic armor inventory from the creative inventory.[4]
- Client.CosArmorToggleButton_Hidden controls the button that temporarily toggles the mod on the client side.[4]
Button positions (client file)
Button positions are set as pixel offsets from the origin of the relevant GUI. The pack uses the mod default for every one of them, so if you move a button, you are changing the stock layout.[4]
- Player inventory button: Client.CosArmorGuiButton_Left is 65 and Client.CosArmorGuiButton_Top is 67.[4]
- Toggle button: Client.CosArmorToggleButton_Left is 59 and Client.CosArmorToggleButton_Top is 72.[4]
- Creative inventory button: Client.CosArmorCreativeGuiButton_Left is 95 and Client.CosArmorCreativeGuiButton_Top is 38.[4]
