What is Chroma Carvings?
Chroma Carvings is included in this pack at version 1.21.1-0.2.0 (file chromacarvings-1.21.1-0.2.0.jar). It has been part of the pack since All the Mods 10 4.11 or earlier, so it's a long-standing member of the mod list.[1]
Beyond that, I can't tell you much with confidence yet. The sources I have don't describe what the mod adds, who it's aimed at, or what its items and mechanics do, so I'm not going to guess at them.[1]
Unverified What Chroma Carvings adds, its recipes, and any config options are not confirmed by the available sources. No in-jar guidebook or platform description was found for this mod.
On progression: no quests in this pack involve Chroma Carvings, and the mod is not on the ATM Star quest path. You won't be pushed toward it by the questbook, so treat it as an optional extra you can pick up whenever you come across it.[1]
How do you get started with Chroma Carvings?
4 parts
Chroma Carvings is a pumpkin-recoloring mod, so there's no long progression to climb. Everything you make comes from a dye and a pumpkin, and every recipe is a shapeless crafting recipe. Here's the order I'd go in, using orange as the example. Every other color follows the same pattern.[2]
First: dye a plain pumpkin
Start with the colored pumpkin, such as the Orange Pumpkin. It's the base block of the set, and it uses a dye of the matching color together with a normal pumpkin.[2]

- any normal pumpkin
- any orange dye

Next: dye a carved pumpkin
Next comes the carved version, like the Orange Carved Pumpkin. It's the same idea, but with a carved pumpkin as the base instead of a plain one.[2]

Then: make a colored Jack o'Lantern
This is the step most people are here for. A colored carved pumpkin becomes its matching Jack o'Lantern, for example the Orange Jack o'Lantern, when you craft it with a torch. Make the carved pumpkin first, then light it up.[2]
Finally: recolor a Jack o'Lantern you already have
If you already have a Jack o'Lantern, you don't need to start over. The pack has a separate recipe that turns any Jack o'Lantern into a colored one with a matching dye.[2]

Unverified No quests, in-game guidebook or tooltip text for this mod were available, so how to obtain the first pumpkins in the pack and any other behavior of the blocks are unconfirmed here.
How does Chroma Carvings work?
2 parts
Here's the quick version: the Chroma Carvings recipes shown in the sources for this pack are all shapeless crafting recipes for colored pumpkins. No machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation appear in them, so this mod works as a dye-and-craft system.[2]
The pumpkin forms
Each color comes as a plain colored pumpkin, a colored carved pumpkin and a colored jack o'lantern. The recipes visible in the sources cover black, blue, brown, cyan, gray, green, light blue and light gray, and they all follow the same pattern.[2]
Every dye recipe is shapeless, so ingredient placement in the crafting grid doesn't matter. Each combines a dye of the matching color with an item from the right shared group.[2]
- Colored pumpkin, such as Blue Pumpkin: dye plus any pumpkin from the normal pumpkins group.[2]
- Colored carved pumpkin, such as Blue Carved Pumpkin: dye plus any pumpkin from the carved pumpkins group.[2]
- Colored jack o'lantern, such as Blue Jack o'Lantern: dye plus any pumpkin from the jack o'lanterns group.[2]
Each recipe accepts any item in its group, not one specific pumpkin. So whatever counts as a carved pumpkin or a jack o'lantern in those shared groups can be recolored.[2]

Recoloring an existing jack o'lantern.
Carved pumpkin plus torch
There's a second route to a colored jack o'lantern. Combine a colored carved pumpkin with a Torch and you get the jack o'lantern in the same color, for example Blue Jack o'Lantern from Blue Carved Pumpkin. This is handy when you want to light up a carved pumpkin you've already dyed.[2]

Unverified No guidebook, lang-file descriptions or config files were available for this mod, so the sources here do not show other behavior, such as how much light the lit versions give off or whether the pumpkins have any use beyond decoration.
How do you progress through Chroma Carvings?
4 parts
Chroma Carvings has no power tiers to climb in this pack. What you get is a short ladder of forms: coloured pumpkins, coloured carved pumpkins and coloured jack o'lanterns, each tied to a dye colour. Every in-pack recipe for the mod is a shapeless crafting recipe, so you only need a crafting grid to work through all of it.[2]
First: colour a plain pumpkin
The first rung is the coloured version of a normal pumpkin, such as Orange Pumpkin. You make it with a dye of the matching colour. The same pattern exists for each dye colour, from Black Pumpkin through to Yellow Pumpkin.[2]
Crafting Shapeless
- any normal pumpkin
- any orange dye
Recipe id: chromacarvings:orange_pumpkin_from_dye
Orange is shown as an example. The other colours use their own dye in the same kind of shapeless recipe.
Next: colour a carved pumpkin
Carved pumpkins work the same way, except the dye is combined with a carved pumpkin instead. That gives you something like Orange Carved Pumpkin or Blue Carved Pumpkin.[2]
Crafting Shapeless
- any carved pumpkin
- any orange dye
Recipe id: chromacarvings:orange_carved_pumpkin_from_dye
The dye goes in with any item from the carved pumpkins group.
Last: light it up as a jack o'lantern
The last rung is the coloured jack o'lantern, for example Orange Jack o'Lantern. This pack gives you a choice of routes. You can turn a coloured carved pumpkin into a jack o'lantern with a torch, or you can use a dye on a jack o'lantern directly.[2]
The coloured carved pumpkin plus a torch gives the matching jack o'lantern.
Crafting Shapeless
- any jack o lantern pumpkins
- any orange dye
Recipe id: chromacarvings:orange_jack_o_lantern_from_dye
The dye route accepts any item from the jack o'lanterns group.
Quests
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest-book placement for Chroma Carvings. Check the pack's quest book yourself to see whether any chapter mentions it.
What changed in Chroma Carvings between versions?
Chroma Carvings was added to the pack in All the Mods 10 4.11, at version 1.21.1-0.2.0.[3]
All the Mods 10 8.1 still ships that same version, 1.21.1-0.2.0, so the mod hasn't changed between 4.11 and 8.1.[1]
Unverified The mod's own changelog for the shipped jar isn't available, so what changed inside Chroma Carvings itself in 0.2.0 is unverified. Releases between 4.11 and 8.1 are also not covered here beyond the fact that the version stayed the same.
