Macaw's Furniture is a mod in All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.1.0, where it is version 3.4.1. Decorate your world with wardrobes, drawers, chairs, desks, couches, chaise, sinks, tables and more...! (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Macaw's Furniture?

1 part

Macaw's Furniture is all about decorating your builds with furniture: wardrobes, drawers, chairs, desks, couches, chaise, sinks, tables and more. The mod focuses on different furniture styles and on customization.[1]

You can place pieces on top of each other to make different combinations, and merge them to make them wider or taller, as much as you want. You can store your stuff in the various types of furniture, or just sit down on a chair and relax.[1]

The pack ships version 3.4.1, built for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.[2]

Where the quest book puts it

The pack's quest book covers this mod in the "Building Tips" chapter, which has 67 quests. The quest "Macaw's Furniture" quest comes right after "Decor Mods!" quest. That quest is itself the next step after "Decoration!" quest, which follows the chapter's opening quest "Building Tips!" quest.[3]

Its quest text calls it the quintessential Macaw mod and mentions chairs, tables, bookshelves and drawers.[3]

It sits alongside three other quests that also follow the Decor Mods quest: "Cooking for Blockheads" quest, "Handcrafted" quest and "Macaw's Mods" quest. The last one covers Macaw's mods in general and mentions windows, pathways and drawers. There is also a separate "Macaw's Windows" quest quest, which comes after the glass quest a quest in "Building Tips".[3]

Among the quests listed for this chapter, none comes after the furniture quest. 33 of the chapter's 67 quests are not shown here, so check the quest book itself for the rest. The mod is not on the ATM Star quest path.[3]

How do you get started with Macaw's Furniture?

4 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Macaw's Furniture is a decoration mod: wardrobes, drawers, chairs, desks, couches, chaises, sinks, tables and more. You can stack pieces on top of each other and merge them to make them wider or taller, and a lot of them store items. Here is the order I'd go in, so you don't get stuck on a crafting step.[1]

Step 1: Make the cabinet parts

Before the storage furniture, make Cabinet Door and Cabinet Drawer. Wardrobes, kitchen cabinets and the drawer family all need one of them first. The pack changed both recipes from the mod's defaults, so don't rely on what you remember from other packs. Check the in-pack recipes here.[4]

Step 2: Start with simple wood furniture

Chairs, desks and coffee tables only need wood parts, so you can make them right away. The examples here use acacia. The birch recipes in the recipe list follow the same pattern. Tables build on each other: Acacia Table needs an Acacia Coffee Table, and Acacia End Table and Acacia Glass Table come after that.[4]

Step 3: Add storage

Once you have the cabinet parts, Acacia Drawer and Acacia Wardrobe each make 4 pieces per craft. Those pieces lead to the counters: Acacia Drawer Counter is made from a drawer, and Acacia Cupboard Counter from a wardrobe.[4]

Step 4: Bookshelves, sinks and couches

Acacia Bookshelf makes 4 per craft and doesn't need any cabinet parts. The cupboard and drawer bookshelf variants do need them. The kitchen sink has its own recipe, and the chaises (for example Black Chaise) make 4 per craft from wool in their colour plus wood.[4]

How does Macaw's Furniture work?

4 parts

Macaw's Furniture is a decoration mod, so there are no machines, multiblocks, power or fluid networks to set up here. The mechanics are about placing, combining and crafting furniture.[1]

Placing and combining

The mod's own description says you can place pieces on top of each other to build different combinations. You can also merge them to make them wider or taller, as much as you want. Furniture can store your stuff, and you can sit down on a chair.[1]

The language file shows the same piece coming in many wood types, including acacia, birch, cherry, crimson and dark oak. It also lists chaises and couches in colours such as black, blue, brown and cyan.[5]

The pack's changed crafting parts

Two parts sit behind a lot of the storage furniture: Cabinet Door and Cabinet Drawer. This pack changed both recipes, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Check the recipes below.[6]

The cabinet door goes into pieces like the Acacia Double Wardrobe, the Acacia Double Kitchen Cabinet and the Acacia Glass Kitchen Cabinet. The cabinet drawer goes into the Acacia Drawer and the Acacia Double Drawer. Each of those crafts makes 4 pieces at once.[6]

Building up from base pieces

Many pieces are upgrades of a base piece, so craft the base first and upgrade it from there. The Acacia Drawer Counter, Acacia Double Drawer Counter, Acacia Cupboard Counter and Acacia End Table are examples. Their base pieces are the Acacia Drawer, Acacia Double Drawer, Acacia Wardrobe and Acacia Table, and the recipe blocks below show each craft.[6]

How big the recipe list is

The pack has 416 shaped crafting recipes that combine this mod's items with vanilla items to make this mod's items, and each one makes a different result. A further 236 shaped recipes use only vanilla items to make this mod's items, again with 236 different results.[6]

How do you progress through Macaw's Furniture?

7 parts

Macaw's Furniture has no hard tiers in this pack. Progression is a crafting ladder: you start with plain wood parts, then climb through the pack's changed cabinet parts to the fancier pieces. The pack's quest book also puts the mod in a specific spot.[3][6]

Where the quest book puts it

The quest "Macaw's Furniture" quest sits in the Building Tips chapter. It comes after "Decor Mods!" quest, which itself follows "Decoration!" quest. The quest describes the mod as the quintessential Macaw mod, with chairs, tables, bookshelves and drawers.[3]

Decor Mods! also leads to "Cooking for Blockheads" quest, "Handcrafted" quest, "Macaw's Mods" quest and "Farmer's Delight" quest. Macaw's Furniture is one of the eight Macaw quests that "Completed Macaw" quest waits on. That final quest is a checkmark you earn once you have one of everything from the Macaw mods.[3]

Step 1: simple wood pieces

The entry level is plain wood furniture. That covers chairs like Acacia Chair, Birch Chair and Cherry Chair, plus counters and desks. Covered desks and desks give you two per craft.[6]

Every wood follows the same pattern. The recipes show acacia, birch and cherry, so swap in the wood you have.[6]

Step 2: the table chain

Tables build on each other. Acacia Coffee Table comes first, then Acacia Table, then Acacia End Table, and finally Acacia Glass Table. Each step is crafted from the piece before it.[6]

Step 3: cabinet parts, changed by the pack

Most storage furniture is gated behind two intermediate items, Cabinet Door and Cabinet Drawer. The pack changes both recipes from the mod's own, so use these exact ones.[6]

Doors lead to wardrobes and kitchen cabinets, such as Acacia Wardrobe, Acacia Kitchen Cabinet and Acacia Glass Kitchen Cabinet. Drawers lead to Acacia Drawer, Acacia Triple Drawer and Acacia Large Drawer. Each of these crafts yields four pieces.[6]

Bookshelves branch the same way. Acacia Bookshelf needs only a log and a book and gives four. The cupboard and drawer versions add a cabinet door or drawer on top.[6]

Step 4: counters and other upgrades

Counters sit at the top of the ladder, because they are crafted from furniture you have already made. The pack's recipes include Acacia Drawer Counter, Acacia Cupboard Counter and Acacia Double Drawer Counter.[6]

How big the tree is

The recipe dump counts 416 shaped crafting recipes whose ingredients come from this mod and vanilla, and 236 recipes that use vanilla ingredients only. Of the 196 different ingredients in the first group, 138 are this mod's own items. That is why so much of the progression is crafting furniture out of other furniture.[6]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Macaw's Furniture?

3 parts

In this pack, Macaw's Furniture shows up in a single quest chapter: "Building Tips!" quest. It's a building and decoration chapter with several Macaw mods in it, and it ends with a little reward quest for collecting them.[3]

The path to the furniture quest

  1. You start at "Building Tips!" quest, the intro to the chapter, which says it's here to give you building tips.[3]
  2. "Decoration!" quest comes after it. It points out that modded Minecraft has far more decoration options than just stairs.[3]
  3. "Decor Mods!" quest follows. It's the quest that introduces the decoration mods the pack recommends for your house or base.[3]
  4. "Macaw's Furniture" quest unlocks after that. The quest calls it the quintessential Macaw mod and mentions chairs, tables, bookshelves and drawers. It's an item task, but the source doesn't say which item it wants.[3]

"Macaw's Furniture" quest sits in the same spot as "Macaw's Mods" quest, "Cooking for Blockheads" quest, "Handcrafted" quest and "Farmer's Delight" quest. All of them come after "Decor Mods!" quest, so you can take them in any order.[3]

The rest of the Macaw quests

"Macaw's Mods" quest introduces Macaw Sketch as a popular decor mod developer and asks if you can craft it all. Five more Macaw quests come after it, and each is an item task:[3]

Two more Macaw quests live in other branches of the chapter. "Macaw's Windows" quest comes after the glass quest a quest in "Building Tips". "Macaw's Lights and Lamps" quest comes after the lighting quest a quest in "Building Tips".[3]

Completed Macaw

"Completed Macaw" quest is the finish line. It's a checkmark task that unlocks once you've finished the quests for Macaw's Doors, Fences and Walls, Roofs, Paths and Pavings, Trapdoors, Lights and Lamps, Furniture and Windows. The quest says you've got one of everything from Macaw's Mods, and jokes that the reward is your own Macaw.[3]

What changed in Macaw's Furniture between versions?

1 part

All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 ships Macaw's Furniture 3.4.1. The mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier, so you've had these furniture sets from the start.[2]

What changed in 3.4.1

The 3.4.1 changelog is mostly bug fixes. Here is what it lists:[7]

  • Drawers still had bad shading, especially the stripped ones.[7]
  • The middle parts of desks had a glitchy texture.[7]
  • Kitchen sinks returned just one empty bucket when you filled buckets from them, even if you were holding more than one.[7]

The same release also updated translations: ru_ru, fr_fr and es_cl.[7]

Unverified No pack changelog entries for this mod were available, so any changes to Macaw's Furniture between individual pack releases are unverified.
