What is FTB Quests?
FTB Quests is the mod that provides the quest system in this pack. The pack ships version 2101.1.13, and it has been included since All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0 or earlier.[1]
The pack's quest data shows how the system is organized. Quests are grouped into chapters, each quest has one or more tasks, and a quest can be set to come after another quest. The "mekanism_reactors" chapter is one example.[2]
In that chapter, quest a quest in "?" has no title. Its only task uses Missing Item, and it comes after quest 6A1174845810C7A1.[2]
Unverified The sources I was given don't show where FTB Quests fits in the pack's progression, and they don't show it on the ATM Star path. Check in-game before relying on either.
How do you get started with FTB Quests?
4 parts
The pack gives you a small set of FTB Quests items you can craft straight away. Each one has its own in-pack recipe, and the recipe blocks below show the exact version, so you don't have to guess.[3]
Start with the Quest Book
Begin with the Quest Book. The pack has a shapeless crafting recipe for it, and it is the item that carries the quest book itself.[3]
Task Screens
Next come the task screens. The smallest is the Task Screen (1x1). The pack also has recipes for the larger Task Screen (3x3), Task Screen (5x5) and Task Screen (7x7), so you can scale up later.[3]
The 5x5 and 7x7 screens have their own recipes too.
To adjust a screen once it is placed, make a Task Screen Configurator.[3]

Quest chests
The mod's chest block describes itself with short hints: you place items in it to complete quests, and rewards will appear in it.[4]
How does FTB Quests work?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.6.1 guide
FTB Quests is mostly a questing system rather than a machine mod, so there are no multiblocks or power networks to build. The mechanics that matter are how items get submitted to quests, how quests unlock each other and how rewards are handed out. This section covers what the sources confirm.[5]
Getting into the quests
The Quest Book is your way into the quest window: right-click it to open the quests. Here is the pack's recipe for it.[5]
Task Screens and item submission
Task Screens are blocks that let you automate item submission. An item task can be set so items may only be submitted by piping into a Task Screen. That option only applies when the task has Consume Items turned on, so check the task's settings if you are not sure how it works.[5]
Task Screens come in four sizes: Task Screen (1x1), Task Screen (3x3), Task Screen (5x5) and Task Screen (7x7). These are the pack's recipes for all four.[5][6]

The mod also has a chest-style block. Its text says to place items there to complete quests, and that rewards will appear there.[5]
How item tasks match items
Item tasks have a component-matching setting with three modes. None ignores item component data. Fuzzy only checks the data components present in the filter stack. Strict requires the filter stack's data components to match the checked item exactly.[5]
Inventory checking has a configurable detection delay. It is the minimum interval, in ticks, between checks of a player's inventory when it changes. Higher values are kinder on server TPS, especially if inventories change often, but they delay the quest auto-completion messages.[5]
Progression and dependencies
The progression mode comes in two kinds. Linear means a quest must be complete before the quests that depend on it are started. Flexible lets you progress tasks in dependent quests at any time, but those quests can't be completed until their dependency is.[5]
- Min Required Dependencies: anything above 0 turns the quest into an OR quest, where only that many dependencies are needed to unlock it.[5]
- Max Completable Dependents: if above 0, only that many dependents can be completed, and the uncompleted ones become unavailable. This is useful for exclusive branches in a questline.[5]
- Require Sequential Tasks: tasks must be completed in the strict order they were added to the quest. A quest can use the chapter's setting or override it.[5]
- Tasks Ignore Dependencies: lets you start tasks without completing the quest's dependencies.[5]
Quests can also hide themselves. An invisible quest stays hidden until it is completed, or until a set number of its tasks are done. Other options hide the details until the quest can be started, or hide the description text until it is completed.[5]
Rewards
A team reward is one reward for the whole team, and only the player who submitted receives it. When it is off, all online players receive the reward. The Claim All button can be told to skip a reward, except for Loot, Random and Choice rewards, where that setting can't be changed.[5]
The item reward has an option that stops it giving the item if your inventory already holds it, and that check ignores NBT. Command rewards support vanilla substitutions such as @p, plus special ones for your position, the quest, the chapter and your team. Their permission level runs from 0 for player up to 4 for server owner.[5]
Reward blocking is a separate feature. The command '/ftbquests block_rewards' can block rewards for a team, and a quest can be set to offer its rewards anyway.[5]
Loot crates
Loot crates can be opened by sneak-right-clicking to open all the crates in your hand. The Loot Crate Opener is the pack's other tool for this.[5][6]

Unverified The pack has no config files for this mod, so the pack's actual values for settings such as progression mode, detection delay and the Task Screen-only option are not confirmed. Check them in the quest book's settings.
How do you progress through FTB Quests?
3 parts
The quest sources for this pack only cover one FTB Quests quest, so this section sticks to what is confirmed: the mod's items, which have a small crafting ladder of their own, and that one quest.[2][3]
Task Screen tiers
The Task Screen comes in these sizes in this pack: Task Screen (1x1), Task Screen (3x3), Task Screen (5x5) and Task Screen (7x7). Here are the in-pack recipes in order, smallest first.[3]

A quest in the Mekanism reactors chapter
The one quest confirmed here is a quest in "?" in the mekanism_reactors chapter. It has no title, and its task is the Missing Item. It comes after another quest in the same chapter, so you need to finish that one first.[2]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use FTB Quests?
The pack's quest data has only one quest tied to this mod, and it sits in the "mekanism_reactors" chapter. It's the quest a quest in "?", which has no title.[2]
- Chapter: "mekanism_reactors".[2]
- Task: an item task that points to Missing Item.[2]
- Order: it comes after the quest a quest in "?", so you need to finish that one first.[2]
Unverified The task points to the Missing Item entry, so the data doesn't show what you are actually supposed to hand in. The quest's description and rewards, and the rest of the chapter, aren't in the data I have either, so I can't say how far this chapter takes you.
