What is Nature's Aura?

1 part

Nature's Aura is a magic mod about collecting, using and replenishing the Aura that is naturally present in the world, and turning it into useful devices and unique mechanics. This pack includes version 41.10, and the mod needs Patchouli for its guide book.[1][2]

Aura isn't stored in floating nodes. It is present everywhere, and the type you get depends on the dimension you're in. Drain an area completely and you face diminishing returns, so the mod is really about balance: take Aura, make things, then put Aura back.[3]

The mod is for you if you like slow, hands-on magic progression. It teaches itself through the Book of Natural Aura, which unlocks more chapters as you complete Advancements. The pack also has its own quest chapter that goes over the basics, starting with "Welcome to Nature's Aura" quest.[1][4][5]

How progression flows in this pack

  1. Make Brilliant Fiber and use it on leaves to get Golden Leaves. Breaking those has a high chance to drop Gold Leaf, which you need for Gold Powder.[5]
  2. Build the Ritual of the Forest multiblock, which uses Wooden Stand blocks and a lot of Gold Powder. It unlocks the Token of Joy, the Environmental Eye, the Ancient Sapling and Bottles of Aura.[5]
  3. Build the Natural Altar. The quest says you need it to keep progressing, and it's where you make Infused Iron Ingot and Tainted Gold Ingot.[5]
  4. Start generating Aura with the Canopy Diminisher and the Herbivorous Absorber, which the quests call simple, easy ways to do it.[5]
  5. Go on to the Offering Table path, which leads to the Ingot of the Skies quest.[5]
Watch out: Don't drain an area completely. The Natural Altar uses up Aura for each recipe, and the Extraneous Firestarter can push natural levels into the negatives. Wear the Environmental Eye in your Charm slot to watch Aura levels in the top left corner of the screen.[3][5][6]

How do you get started with Nature's Aura?

7 parts

Nature's Aura is a magic mod about using and replenishing Aura. The pack's quest chapter walks you through the basics, and the order below follows it. Read the Book of Natural Aura as you go, because it can also show you how to build the multiblocks.[1][5]

Step one: Brilliant Fiber and Golden Leaves

Your first craft is Brilliant Fiber, the task of "Welcome to Nature's Aura" quest. Right-click any leaves with it to turn them into Golden Leaves.[5]

Step two: Gold Leaf and Gold Powder

Breaking Golden Leaves has a high chance to drop a Gold Leaf, which is needed for Gold Powder. This is the focus of "Gold Leaves" quest.[5]

Step three: Wooden Stands for the Ritual of the Forest

The Ritual of the Forest is a multiblock built from 8 Wooden Stand blocks and 16 Gold Powder, plus either an Oak or a Jungle Sapling depending on the recipe. Put the recipe items on the stands and grow the sapling in the middle. The Gold Powder is consumed, so you need a lot of it. See "Ritual of the Forest" quest.[5]

Step four: Token of Joy

Token of Joy is the first Token you should craft, and Tokens are important crafting materials for items in the mod. The pack changes this recipe from the mod's default, so use the one below. It is made through the Ritual of the Forest. See "Token of Joy" quest.[5][7]

Step five: Environmental Eye

The Environmental Eye is also made with the Ritual of the Forest, and the pack changes its recipe too. Wear it in your Charm slot and it shows the Aura levels in the top left corner of the screen. That is handy because draining an area completely leads to diminishing returns.[3][5][7]

Step six: The Natural Altar

The Natural Altar is needed to keep progressing in the mod, and the pack changes its ritual recipe as well. The altar is a multiblock made from 1 Natural Altar, 20 Planks, 16 Stone Bricks, 8 Golden Stone Bricks and 4 Chiseled Stone Bricks. It uses up Aura for each recipe. See "Natural Alter" quest.[5][7]

Step seven: Infused Iron

Once the altar is built, place an Iron Ingot on it to get an Infused Iron Ingot. The pack changes this altar recipe. Infused Iron is faster to make than Tainted Gold, and it is used in many later recipes, such as the Aura Cache and the Offering Table.[5][7]

Tip: The Crumbling Catalyst can be added as a pillar topper on your Natural Altar. It turns each Gold Leaf into 4 Gold Powder instead of 2, which helps with all the Gold Powder the rituals use up.[5]

How does Nature's Aura work?

4 parts

Aura isn't stored in floating nodes: it is present everywhere in the world, and the type of Aura you get depends on the dimension you are in. Adding or removing it affects an area whose size depends on the apparatus used. If you drain an area and then add a generator, the generator renews the drained area first before it builds up its own area. A draining device placed near a rich area works the same way in reverse.[3]

Watch out: Draining Aura completely from an area gives you diminishing returns, so don't strip a spot bare.[3]

Creating Aura

By default, most Aura-creating devices can't push Aura past the range of the Environmental Eye. Once an area gets that high, some devices shut off completely and others keep running without making any Aura. Red sparks coming off a device tell you it has hit the limit. You can also stop devices by hand with an Aura Detector or something similar.[8]

The Creational Catalyst fixes the limit. Place it directly below any creational device and the cap is lifted, at no cost. The catch is Aura fizzling: once Aura has spread far enough in all directions from where it started, it slowly fizzles out. The Creational Catalyst guide entry recommends keeping an eye on this with something like the Aura Detector.[3][9]

The Aura Detector gives a redstone signal based on the Aura around it, as long as you attach a Comparator. Its range is similar to the Environmental Eye's. The pack changes its recipe, so use this one rather than the mod default:[7][10]

Here is how the main generators behave:[8]

  • Herbivorous Absorber: it consumes small flowers nearby. Feeding it the same flower again and again makes it lose the ability to use that flower, so you need different kinds, about six or so for maximum efficiency. It only works in the overworld.[11]
  • Canopy Diminisher: placed at most about 10 blocks from growing oaks, it makes only normal-sized oaks grow and turns the extra energy of would-be big trees into Aura. It only works in the overworld and suits an automatic tree farm.[12]
  • Firecracker Gaze: it shoots fireworks you drop around it into the air and turns the explosion into Aura, with more for fancier fireworks. Fireworks dropped while it is busy are consumed for nothing, so automate it with a timer.[13]
  • Shooting Mark: it converts projectiles shot at it into Aura, and an ender pearl is worth much more than a snowball. Shots must hit the four sides in order, starting on the north face, or nothing is produced.[14]
  • Disentangler of Mortals: killing a passive animal near it frees the soul as a big burst of Aura. Baby animals give less, and the longer an animal lives the more it gives. To harvest souls at their most fulfilled, wait about one and a half hours or so. Those animals drop no loot, and a second death while it is converting wastes both the soul and the drops.[15]
  • Reaper of Ender Heights: grow a chorus flower at most about two blocks away, then give it a redstone signal to harvest the whole plant. Taller and broader plants give more Aura.[16]
  • Rose of Oblivion: it grows after the Ender Dragon dies. Drop an Ender Eye next to it and it consumes the eye and disperses a very large amount of Aura, and it can't be stopped or harvested meanwhile. It doesn't need a Creational Catalyst.[17]
  • Swamp Homi: it strips moss from mossy blocks around it and makes a little Aura for each block.[18]
  • Offshoot Observer: it turns the splitting of Slimes and Magma Cubes nearby into Aura, based on size and rarity. Extra splits while it is dispersing add nothing.[19]
  • Ritual of the Brewer: throw a positive Lingering Potion near it and the effect becomes Aura. Only one effect converts at a time, so extra potions are wasted.[20]
  • Ancient Trees: an Ancient Sapling grows like a normal tree, but its leaves slowly raise the Aura level. The leaves die as they are drained, and the tree doesn't work outside the overworld.[21]

Mechanical devices

These machines use items made with Aura rather than Aura itself, and they cover automation and logistics.[22]

  • Automatic Constructor: it crafts anything that can be made in a Crafting Table. You build a structure around it and drop the ingredients onto the Ancient Logs in their normal crafting layout. The arrow's facing marks the top row of the recipe. After a couple of seconds the result drops out of the bottom.[23]
  • Adept Hopper: a slightly faster Hopper with filtering. Attach Item Frames to any side with items inside, and only those items pass, both when pulling and when being inserted into. Interacting with it inverts the filter, and with no frames at all it lets everything through. It also combines with the Hopper Enhancement to pick up only filtered items.[24]
  • Item Distributor: it takes items from containers placed on top and spreads them equally into the containers on its sides. With an Environmental Eye equipped, sneak-interacting switches it to random mode.[25]
  • Redstone Aura Vaporizer: a redstone timer. You put Bottled Aura in the infused iron bowl and it vaporizes at a fixed speed, then pulses redstone and returns the Aura to the bowl. Sunlight lasts a second, ghosts a minute and darkness an hour, so one pulse can be as rare as once every sixty-four hours. Bottles can go in by hand or through automation, and a redstone signal resets the progress.[26]
  • Aura Attraction Cart: it moves Aura along rails. Place it on a rail, pass a powered Activator Rail so it hooks on to the Aura, and it carries it until an unpowered Activator Rail makes it let go. Some of the excess is lost on the way.[27]
  • Item Grounder: items nearby can only be picked up by sneaking players. The range goes from 0 to 8 blocks and scales with the redstone signal.[28]
  • Powder Manipulator: with a chest on one side holding Effect Powder, a redstone pulse places the powder in the world and the next pulse collects it back into a nearby chest.[29]
  • Corporeal Eye: it keeps animals inside its area without any fences, and a stronger redstone signal makes the area bigger.[30]

Storing Aura

The Aura Cache is a portable store. Place it on a Natural Altar and the Aura drains into it. The Aura Trove is the higher tier version with three times the capacity. Many tools use the cache from your inventory, for example the Botanist's tools recharge their durability from it while you hold still and sneak.[31][32][33]

The Natural Altar is also where you make Infused Iron. The pack changes this altar recipe from the mod's own, so follow this one:[7]

Aura imbalance

Too much or too little Aura changes the world around it. Effect Powder can inhibit some of these effects, and some effects only happen when the right powder is present. Placing a stack of powder down sets its range in blocks equal to the stack size, and hitting it picks it back up. Powder only works on positive effects. You can read the thresholds on the Environmental Eye's bar.[34][35]

  • Natural Storage: at about half a bar above normal, an Aura Cache carried by a nearby player slowly fills. Powder of no Storage inhibits it.[36]
  • Increase of Fertility: above about two thirds of the gauge, with Powder of Fertility nearby, animals breed on their own and eggs on the ground hatch. Both stop once there are enough animals.[37]
  • Vegetational Increase: around three quarters of the gauge, crops get growth spurts while the area's Aura drops slightly. It is overworld only, and Powder of Steady Growth inhibits it.[38]
  • Mineral Amassing: this needs the Creational Catalyst to go beyond what the Eye can show, plus Powder of the Bountiful Core. Ores appear in stone and netherrack, and a lot of Aura is drained doing it.[39]
  • Natural Decay: when Aura is drained enough, grass, leaves and other plants decay. This happens in the overworld and the nether.[40]
  • Unstable Outbreak: when Aura is extremely low and Natural Decay has done all it can, explosions start occurring in a large area on the surface.[41]
  • Inexplicable Anger and Breathlessness: at low Aura, creatures such as Zombified Piglins and Endermen turn hostile unprovoked, and breathing creatures find it harder to regenerate health.[42][43]
Tip: The Environmental Ocular has a gauge twice as large as the Environmental Eye's, shows the imbalance effects currently occurring where you stand as icons, and works from anywhere in your inventory instead of only the hotbar.[44]

How do you progress through Nature's Aura?

7 parts

Nature's Aura in this pack follows a clear order, and the quest chapter "Welcome to Nature's Aura" quest walks you through it: Golden Leaves, then the Ritual of the Forest, then the Natural Altar, then the Offering Table for Ingots of the Skies, and finally Ingots of the Depths. Here's the path step by step.[5]

Step 1: Brilliant Fiber and Gold Leaves

You start by crafting Brilliant Fiber. Right-clicking leaves with it turns them into Golden Leaves. Breaking those has a high chance to drop Gold Leaf, which you need for Gold Powder. The quest also tells you to read the Book of Natural Aura, which can show you how to build the mod's multiblocks.[5]

Step 2: Ritual of the Forest

The Ritual of the Forest ("Ritual of the Forest" quest) is a multiblock built from 8 Wooden Stand blocks, 16 Gold Powder and either an Oak or a Jungle Sapling, depending on the recipe. Put the recipe items on the Wooden Stands and grow the sapling in the middle. The Gold Powder is consumed, so you'll need a lot of it.[5]

Your first product is Token of Joy, the first Token you should craft. The pack changed this recipe. Tokens are important crafting materials throughout the mod.[5][7]

The same ritual makes the Environmental Eye, which the pack also changed. You wear it in your Charm slot to monitor aura levels in the top left corner of the screen. It also makes the Ancient Sapling. Ancient Trees try to keep aura at normal levels, and their leaves decay if the aura drops. The other Tokens (Token of Fear, Token of Anger and Token of Sorrow) are covered by "Other Tokens" quest.[5][7]

Step 3: The Natural Altar

The Natural Altar is a multiblock made from 1 Natural Altar, 20 Planks, 16 Stone Bricks, 8 Golden Stone Bricks and 4 Chiseled Stone Bricks. It uses up aura for each recipe and you need it to keep progressing. The pack changed the recipe for the altar block itself.[5][7]

Two altar recipes are the pack's own versions. Any iron ingot becomes an Infused Iron Ingot, and any gold ingot becomes a Tainted Gold Ingot. According to the quests, Infused Iron is the quicker of the two and Tainted Gold takes longer.[5][7]

Once the altar is up, "Catalysts" quest adds Catalysts as pillar toppers. The Crumbling Catalyst lets you turn each Gold Leaf into 4 Gold Powder instead of 2.[5][7]

Step 4: Offering Table and Ingots of the Skies

The Offering to the Gods is a multiblock made from 1 Offering Table and 36 Flowers. To make an offering you need Spirit of Calling, and the pack changed that recipe.[5][7]

Tool tiers

Each ingot tier has its own tools, and the Basic Tools chapter lists them. All of them are crafted with an Ancient Wood Rod and the matching ingot.[7][45]

Side branches worth knowing

The pack also changed several Productive Bees centrifuge recipes that output Infused Iron, Tainted Gold, Ingots of the Skies and Ingots of the Depths, so those ingots have a second source besides the altar and offering routes.[7]

How does Nature's Aura work with other mods?

3 parts

Nature's Aura doesn't have a lot of crossovers in this pack, but the ones that exist are fun. The pack connects it with Productive Bees through recipes, and with Roots Classic through a quest that accepts items from both mods.[7][45]

Productive Bees: ingots from bees

Productive Bees adds centrifuge recipes under a Nature's Aura path, and the pack has changed them. They cover Infused Iron Ingot, Ingot of the Skies and Tainted Gold Ingot, and each also gives Wax. The recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack versions.[7]

This gives you a second way to get these ingots, alongside the Natural Altar route in the quests. There, an Iron Ingot on the Natural Altar makes Infused Iron and a Gold Ingot makes Tainted Gold. Using either of those ingots on the Offering Table gives you an Ingot of the Skies.[5][7]

        Offering Table recipes for bees

Productive Bees also hooks into the Nature's Aura offering system. Two offering recipes take a Spirit of Calling and a configurable bee, and give you the bee back along with a configurable bee spawn egg (Spawn Egg Configurable Bee). The pack changed both recipes. The quests tell you that making an offering requires Spirits of Calling.[5][7]

        Roots Classic: a shared quest

In the Basic Tools chapter, the quest a quest in "Basic Tools" (subtitled 6 Attack Damage) accepts either the Living Sword from Roots Classic or the Botanist's Blade, the Botanist's Blade. Whichever you have, you can complete it.[45]

Which All the Mons quests use Nature's Aura?

        6 parts

Nature's Aura has its own quest chapter in this pack, and a few of its tools also show up in the Basic Tools chapter. The Nature's Aura chapter is a gentle tour of the basics, and it branches out as you go. Here's how it flows.[5][45]

        Getting started

        1. "Welcome to Nature's Aura" quest is the entry point. It asks for Brilliant Fiber, which you use on leaves to turn them into Golden Leaves. It also tells you to read the Book of Natural Aura, which can show you how to build the mod's multiblocks.[5]
        2. "Gold Leaves" quest asks for Gold Leaf. Breaking Golden Leaves has a high chance to drop one, and you need it for Gold Powder.[5]
        3. "Ritual of the Forest" quest asks for a Wooden Stand, Gold Powder and an Oak or Jungle Sapling. The ritual consumes the Gold Powder, so the quest warns you to make plenty.[5]

After the Ritual of the Forest

Four quests open up once the ritual is done, so you can take them in any order.[5]

        Bottles of Aura branch

        Tokens and the Natural Altar

"Other Tokens" quest follows Token of Joy and asks for Token of Fear, Token of Anger and Token of Sorrow. "Natural Alter" quest also follows Token of Joy and asks for the Natural Altar, a multiblock that the quest says you need to keep progressing in the mod. The quest shows the layout in an image.[5]

        The Offering Table and beyond

        1. a quest in "Nature's Aura" needs the Infused Iron, Tainted Gold and Other Tokens quests. It asks for the Offering Table and a Spirit of Calling. You need Spirits of Calling to make an offering.[5]
        2. "Ingots of the Skies" quest asks for the Ingot of the Skies. You get it by using Infused Iron or Tainted Gold Ingots on the Offering Table.[5]
        3. "Aura Trove" quest asks for the Aura Trove, an upgraded Aura Cache. It comes after Aura Cache and Ingots of the Skies.[5]
        4. "Upgraded Tokens" quest asks for Token of Euphoria, Token of Terror, Token of Rage and Token of Grief. You upgrade Tokens on the Offering Table.[5]
        5. "Altar of Birthing" quest asks for the Altar of Birthing and a Spirit of Birthing. It needs Upgraded Tokens and Ingots of the Skies. Spirits of Birthing come from breeding animals in areas with lots of aura.[5]
        6. "Ingots of the Depths" quest asks for the Ingot of the Depths and follows Ingots of the Skies.[5]
        7. a quest in "Nature's Aura" asks for the Staff of Ancient Knowledge, which highlights nearby Ancient Debris. It needs Ingots of the Skies and Ancient Trees.[5]
        8. "Staff of Riches" quest asks for the Staff of Riches. It highlights storage containers in a 64 block radius for about 1 minute, and it needs Upgraded Tokens and Ancient Trees.[5]

Tools in the Basic Tools chapter

Several Nature's Aura tools also appear in the Basic Tools chapter, and every one of those quests follows the chapter's starting quest. Two of them accept a Roots Classic alternative. a quest in "Basic Tools" takes the Botanist's Blade or the Roots Classic living sword. a quest in "Basic Tools" takes the Botanist's Pickaxe or the Roots Classic living pickaxe. The quest says the Botanist's Pickaxe turns blocks into their mossy variants when they have one.[45]

What changed in Nature's Aura between versions?

        2 parts

All the Mons 1.3.0 ships Nature's Aura 41.10. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mons 0.3.0-beta or earlier. Here are the changes from the mod's own two most recent changelogs, 41.9 and 41.10.[2]

Version 41.10 (the version in this pack)

        • Breaking change: dimension rails between the nether and the overworld now work correctly and no longer divide the Y coordinate by 2.[46]
        • The mod now uses a custom fake player instead of the default Minecraft one, and information about it is printed to the log during startup.[46]
        • Tree ritual outputs now have an expanded item lifetime, so they stick around longer.[46]
        • The mod's 4 staffs are now held like staffs by the player.[46]
        • Fixed the powder of barrens recipe requiring unobtainable grass.[46]
        • Fixed chunk multi-threading mods causing crashes with aura chunks, and fixed a potential issue with armor set caching on startup.[46]
        • Added a Portuguese translation, and a Russian translation for the book.[46]

        Version 41.9

        • Added 12 new mobs to the altar of birthing.[47]
        • Relevant mod items can now be composted.[47]
        • Aura generators that can't generate because of the aura cap now show a particle effect to tell you.[47]
        • Some more textures were updated to the Jappa style.[47]
        • Ingots and storage blocks now have the appropriate neo tags.[47]

Unverified No pack changelog entries for Nature's Aura were available, so any changes the pack itself made to this mod across releases are unverified.
