What is Handcrafted?
2 parts
Handcrafted is a furniture and decoration mod from the creators of Chipped. Its goal is to turn your blocky base into a proper home. The project page says it has over 250 furniture pieces, including chairs, tables, benches and desks, in styles from fantasy and steampunk to medieval or plain vanilla.[1]
This pack includes Handcrafted 4.0.3 for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1.[2]
What the quest book says
The quest book describes Handcrafted as being for everything decoration wise. It names Beds and Nightstands for the bedroom, Chairs and Tables for the living room, and an Oven, Plates and Bowls for the kitchen. It even mentions Statues just for showing off. The full text is in "Handcrafted" quest.[3]
Where it sits in the quest book
Handcrafted has its own quest in the "Building Tips" chapter, which is chapter 3 of 70 in the book and holds 63 quests. The chain runs from "Building Tips!" quest to "Decoration!" quest, then to "Decor Mods!" quest. That last quest introduces mods the author found perfect for decorating your house or base.[3]
The Handcrafted quest comes right after "Decor Mods!" quest. Two other decor mod quests follow that same quest: "Cooking for Blockheads" quest and "CobbleFurnies" quest. Thirty of the chapter's 63 quests are not shown in the material I have, so check the quest book itself for anything else that comes after Handcrafted.[3]
How do you get started with Handcrafted?
5 parts
Handcrafted is the furniture and decoration mod in this pack, with over 250 furniture pieces. The quest book covers it in the "Building Tips" chapter (chapter 3 of 70). The "Handcrafted" quest quest comes after "Decor Mods!" quest, which comes after "Decoration!" quest.[1][3]
The quest text says the mod covers beds and nightstands for bedrooms, chairs and tables for the living room, and an oven, plates and bowls for the kitchen. It also adds statues just for showing off. Here is a sensible order to craft things in.[3]
Start with the Hammer
Begin with the Hammer. The pack changed this recipe, so the one below is the pack's version.[4]

Chairs and tables
Basic wood furniture is the quickest way to start decorating. The mod has sets for several woods, including acacia, bamboo, birch, cherry, crimson and dark oak. Acacia is the example here. Both recipes below are the mod's own and each makes 2 pieces.[4][5]

How does Handcrafted work?
2 parts
Handcrafted is a furniture and decoration mod. Its project page describes over 250 furniture pieces, including chairs, tables, benches and desks, to help you turn your base into a home.[1]
Most of the mod is built from wood-type sets. Acacia, for example, has a bench, chair, couch, counter, cupboard, desk, drawer, table and more, and the same pattern repeats for the other wood types. There are also corner and pillar trims, cushions, trophies, pots, crockery, an oven and a kitchen hood.[5]
Pieces like the Acacia Chair, Acacia Corner Trim and Acacia Counter all use regular crafting recipes in this pack, shaped or shapeless. Their recipes are shown below.[4]

What this pack changes
- Cupboards: the pack's script swaps the planks in every wood cupboard recipe for the matching slab, for example on the Acacia Cupboard.[4][6]
- Sheets: the pack's script changes every sheet recipe so that it gives 10 sheets from 4 wool of the matching color. Black Sheet and Blue Sheet both work this way.[4][6]
- Other changed recipes: the Hammer, Bench, Fancy Painting and the golden pots (Golden Thin Pot, Golden Medium Pot and Golden Thick Pot) are all marked as changed by the pack.[4]

Crockery and dyeing
The crockery shows how the mod chains crafts. The Terracotta Crockery Combo and Wood Crockery Combo are combo items, and a combo can be dyed into a colored version like the Blue Crockery Combo. The recipes are shown below.[4]

Unverified The sources here include no in-jar guidebook, no reusable documentation and no config files for this mod in the pack, so how the furniture behaves in the world beyond its crafting recipes is unverified.
How do you progress through Handcrafted?
5 parts
The sources for this pack don't show a formal tier system for Handcrafted. What they do show is a clear order: the quest book points you at the mod in the building chapter, and the recipes run from plain wooden furniture to dyed, glazed and golden items, with some recipes the pack has changed.[3][4][6]
Where the quest book puts it
Handcrafted has its own quest in the Building Tips chapter (chapter 3 of 70 in the book, 63 quests). The path runs from "Building Tips!" quest to "Decoration!" quest, then "Decor Mods!" quest, and finally "Handcrafted" quest.[3]
"Handcrafted" quest sits in the same group as several other decor quests, which also come after Decor Mods!:[3]
- "Cooking for Blockheads" quest[3]
- "CobbleFurnies" quest[3]
- "Cobblemon Stone Statues" quest[3]
- "Farmer's Delight" quest[3]
The quest text sums the mod up as everything decoration: beds and nightstands for bedrooms, chairs and tables for living rooms, plates and bowls for kitchens, and statues for showing off.[3]
Step 1: wooden furniture
This is where you start. Furniture is made per wood type, and the recipes shown here cover Acacia, Bamboo and Birch pieces such as Acacia Chair, Acacia Table and Bamboo Bench. Trims like Andesite Corner Trim follow the same simple pattern.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | |
Recipe id: handcrafted:acacia_chair
A typical wooden furniture recipe: one craft makes 2 chairs.
Bigger pieces build on the basics. Acacia Couch and Acacia Fancy Bed use the mod's cushion and sheet tags, so sort out cushions and sheets before you furnish a bedroom.[4]

| any wool | any wool | |

Step 2: dyed crockery and glazed pots
Kitchen items work as upgrades. You start from terracotta pieces, and dye or glazed terracotta turns them into coloured versions. Blue Bowl and Blue Crockery Combo are examples, and glazed pots such as Blue Glazed Medium Pot follow the same idea.[4]
Step 3: recipes the pack changed
The recipe dump marks these as changed by the pack: Hammer, Bench, Fancy Painting and the golden pots such as Golden Medium Pot. The recipe blocks below show the pack's versions.[4]
Crafting Shapeless
- any gold storage block

Crafting Shapeless
Painting
- any gold ingot
Recipe id: handcrafted:fancy_painting
Once you have the bench, Frozen Bench is a simple follow-up that is crafted from it.[4]
Sheets for beds
The pack also changed every sheet recipe. A single craft now makes 10 sheets, for example Black Sheet.[4][6]
The pack's sheet recipe makes 10 sheets per craft.
Which All the Mons quests use Handcrafted?
3 parts
Handcrafted has one quest in the pack's quest book, and it sits in the chapter "Building Tips", which is chapter 3 of 70 in the book. It's a single quest, so there's no long chain to follow.[3]
How you get there
The chapter opens with "Building Tips!" quest. From there the path to Handcrafted runs in this order:[3]
- "Building Tips!" quest opens the chapter.[3]
- "Decoration!" quest comes right after it. It points out that modded Minecraft has far more decoration than just stairs.[3]
- "Decor Mods!" quest follows. It covers mods the quest author found perfect for decorating a house or base.[3]
- "Handcrafted" quest is the Handcrafted quest, and it comes after Decor Mods!.[3]
The Handcrafted quest
"Handcrafted" quest has one item task. The quest text describes Handcrafted as the mod for everything decoration wise. It mentions beds and nightstands for bedrooms, chairs and tables for the living room, and an oven, plates and bowls for the kitchen. It even says there are statues just for showing off.[3]
Unverified Which exact item the Handcrafted quest asks you to hand in is not confirmed in the quest data.
Quests next to it
Handcrafted isn't alone under Decor Mods!. Four other quests also unlock after it: "Cooking for Blockheads" quest, "CobbleFurnies" quest, "Cobblemon Stone Statues" quest and "Farmer's Delight" quest. Nothing in the data shows a quest that unlocks after Handcrafted itself.[3]
What changed in Handcrafted between versions?
1 part
All the Mons 1.3.0 ships Handcrafted 4.0.3. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mons 0.3.0-beta or earlier, so it has been part of the pack for a long time.[2]
What changed in Handcrafted 4.0.3
These are the changes from the mod's own changelog for the version the pack currently uses:[7]
- Fixed an oven crash.[7]
- Fixed the table UV.[7]
- Fixed chair dismounting.[7]
- Improved furniture interactions.[7]
- Added a Turkish localization.[7]
If you use the chairs and ovens in your builds, those fixes are the ones you are most likely to notice.[7]
Unverified The pack changelogs have no entries for Handcrafted, and the changelogs of the mod's earlier versions were not provided, so the history before 4.0.3 is unverified.
