What is Cobblemon PokeNav?
2 parts
Cobblemon PokeNav adds a PokéNav, a handy device inspired by the item and mechanics from Pokémon RSE and Pokémon ORAS. Its main job is to tell you which Pokémon can appear in the area you're standing in, how likely they are to show up, and what factors influence their appearance.[1]
It's a great fit if you're hunting for a specific Pokémon and tired of guessing where to look. The mod works with add-ons that use Cobblemon's built-in Pokémon spawn system, so it can help you check where even a legendary like Mewtwo can be found.[1]
What you get
- Location Screen: shows which Pokémon can be spotted at your current location.[1]
- Finder Screen: helps you find the best Pokémon in your area, then track it down. Tracking can use a three-dimensional arrow.[1]
- FishingNav: a fishing spawn check feature that predicts your catch.[1]
- PokéFinder: a small radar item with an easily configurable radar, for when you find minimaps unfair or unaesthetic.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Cobblemon PokeNav 2.2.5. It has been part of the pack since version 0.3.0-beta or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the Cobblemon toolkit here.[2]
Unverified The sources I have don't place this mod on the ATM Star path, and no quests in this pack involve it. Treat it as an optional quality-of-life tool rather than a progression gate. Crafting recipes and configuration options aren't covered by the sources for this section either.
How do you get started with Cobblemon PokeNav?
4 parts
Welcome to the Cobblenav side of the pack! The mod is inspired by the PokéNav from the Pokémon RSE and ORAS games. Its main job is to tell you which Pokémon can appear where you're standing, how likely they are, and which factors affect their appearance. Here's what I'd make first, in order.[1]
Step one: the PokéNav
Start with the Pokenav Item Base. It's the item that shows which Pokémon can be spotted in your current location, and you can also use it to track one with a three-dimensional arrow. The pack changed this recipe, so use the version below rather than the mod's defaults.[1][3]

This is the pack's changed recipe for the base PokéNav.
If you already have an Old PokéNav, you don't need to start over. The pack has a separate recipe that turns it into the current base PokéNav, and it is also a pack-changed recipe.[3]

Next: the PokéFinder
Next, make a PokéFinder. If minimaps feel unfair or ugly to you, this is the alternative: a small device that gives you an easily configurable radar. The pack changed the recipes for the black, blue, green, pink, red, white and yellow versions. Here's the red one as an example: Pokefinder Item Red.[1][3]

The other colors have their own recipes, each with the matching apricorn.
Step three: the FishingNav
If you fish, make the FishingNav. It lets you predict your catch through the mod's fishing spawn check, and you hold SHIFT to open it while fishing. The pack changed this recipe too, and there's a mirrored version of it as well.[1][3][4]

Optional: dye your PokéNav
Once you have a PokéNav, you can change its color by combining a dye with any PokéNav in a shapeless recipe. This is the mod's own recipe, not changed by the pack, and it exists for each dye color. Here's red: Pokenav Item Red.[3]
Changed your mind about the color? A dyed PokéNav can be crafted back into the base Pokenav Item Base.[3]

How does Cobblemon PokeNav work?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
Heads up: this mod isn't a machine mod. The sources describe handheld items only, so there are no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation to cover here. What follows is how the PokéNav family of items works.[1]
The PokéNav
The PokéNav tells you which Pokémon may appear in the area you're standing in, the chances of them appearing, and the factors that influence their appearance. It's inspired by the item from Pokémon RSE and ORAS.[1]
It has a Location Screen, which shows what can be spotted where you are, and a Finder Screen, which helps you find the best Pokémon in your area and track it down. You can follow a Pokémon with a three-dimensional arrow or with the PokéFinder radar item.[1]
The info buttons on the screens have tooltips that explain what each entry shows:[5]
- Name: the species of the Pokémon found.[5]
- Type: the elemental type of the form of Pokémon found.[5]
- Ability: the ability of the Pokémon found, marked with an exclamation mark if it's a hidden ability.[5]
- Egg move: the egg move of the Pokémon found, marked with an exclamation mark if present.[5]
The mod works with add-ons that use Cobblemon's built-in Pokémon spawn system, so add-on Pokémon should show up too.[1]
Crafting your PokéNav
In this pack the base Pokenav Item Base recipe is changed from the mod's version. Here's the in-pack recipe:[6]
Crafting Shaped
| any copper ingot | any iron ingot | any copper ingot |
| any diamond gem | ||
| any copper ingot | any redstone dust | any copper ingot |
Recipe id: cobblenav:pokenav_item
If you already have an Old PokéNav, there's a separate recipe that turns it into the current base PokéNav. The pack changes this one as well.[6]

| any copper ingot | any copper ingot | |

Colors and the Gholdengo variant
You can recolor a PokéNav with a shapeless recipe, one per color: a dye plus any PokéNav gives you that color, such as Pokenav Item Red or Pokenav Item Cyan. These are the mod's own recipes, unchanged by the pack.[6]
A separate shapeless recipe turns any dyed PokéNav back into the base Pokenav Item Base. There's also a Gholdengo-themed variant, Pokenav Item Gholdengo, crafted from an existing PokéNav and left unchanged by the pack.[6]

FishingNav
FishingNav gives you a fishing spawn check, so you can predict your catch. To use it, press SHIFT and Right Click while fishing.[1][5]
The pack changes its recipe, and there's a mirrored version of the same recipe too.[6]
Crafting Shaped
| any redstone dust |
Recipe id: cobblenav:fishingnav_item
PokéFinder
The PokéFinder is a small radar device for people who find minimaps unfair or unaesthetic. The project page calls the radar easily configurable.[1]
It comes in several colors: Pokefinder Item Black, Pokefinder Item Blue, Pokefinder Item Green, Pokefinder Item Pink, Pokefinder Item Red, Pokefinder Item White and Pokefinder Item Yellow. Here's the in-pack recipe for the red one, which the pack changes from the mod's version:[6]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | Empty slot | |
| any copper ingot | any copper ingot |
Recipe id: cobblenav:pokefinder_item_red
Unverified The sources don't explain how the PokéFinder radar is configured, and no config files for this mod were available for the pack, so its settings aren't documented here.
How do you progress through Cobblemon PokeNav?
3 parts
The recipes for this mod in the pack show a clear crafting path: get the base Pokenav Item Base, branch into the specialist gadgets, then customize it with colors and a special variant. Here it is step by step.[3]
Unverified The sources here show no quests for this mod. Any quest-driven order would be told in the pack's quest book, so treat the order below as a suggested path based on the recipes, not an official one.
Step 1: The base PokéNav
Everything starts with Pokenav Item Base. The pack changed its crafting recipe from the mod's default, so don't rely on what you remember from other packs. Here is the in-pack recipe:[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any copper ingot | any iron ingot | any copper ingot |
| any diamond gem | ||
| any copper ingot | any redstone dust | any copper ingot |
Recipe id: cobblenav:pokenav_item
Changed by the pack. A mirrored version of the same recipe also exists, so the layout works either way.
If you still have an Old PokéNav lying around, you can turn it into the current base item with its own recipe. The pack changed this one too.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | any diamond gem | Empty slot |
| any copper ingot | any copper ingot | |
| Empty slot | any redstone dust | Empty slot |
Recipe id: cobblenav:pokenav_from_old
Changed by the pack.
Step 2: The specialist gadgets
The FishingNav and the Pokéfinder are separate crafts, and the pack changed their recipes. None of them takes a PokéNav as an input.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any redstone dust |
Recipe id: cobblenav:fishingnav_item
Changed by the pack. A mirrored version also exists.
The Pokéfinder comes in several colors, each with its own recipe: Pokefinder Item Black, Pokefinder Item Blue, Pokefinder Item Green, Pokefinder Item Pink, Pokefinder Item Red, Pokefinder Item White and Pokefinder Item Yellow. The recipes are all changed by the pack. Here is the red one as an example.[3]

| Empty slot | Empty slot | |

Recipe id: cobblenav:pokefinder_item_red
Changed by the pack. The other colors use their own recipes.
Step 3: Customize your PokéNav
The color recipes are the mod's own, and the pack didn't change them. Combine a dye with any PokéNav to get that color, for example Pokenav Item Blue.[3]

How does Cobblemon PokeNav work with other mods?
4 parts
In this pack, Cobblemon PokeNav is tied closely to Cobblemon itself. Its main items are crafted with Cobblemon items, plus a few vanilla items and common material tags, so you'll be hunting for Cobblemon goodies before you can build your gadgets.[3]
Recipes the pack changed
The pack has changed the crafting recipes for the PokéNav, the FishingNav and every PokéFinder colour, so don't rely on the mod's defaults here. The recipes below are the exact in-pack versions. The PokéNav uses the Cobblemon items Electirizer and Upgrade, plus redstone dust, diamond, copper and iron. The PokéNav and the FishingNav each have a mirrored layout that makes the same item.[3]

The FishingNav also pulls from both Cobblemon and vanilla Minecraft. It uses the Cobblemon items Electirizer, Upgrade and Water Gem, plus Prismarine Crystals, Prismarine Shard and redstone dust.[3]

PokéFinder and apricorns
Each PokéFinder colour is crafted around the matching Cobblemon apricorn, so you need apricorns of the colour you want. Black, blue, green, pink, red, white and yellow versions exist. Every one also uses an Electirizer, a vanilla Compass and a copper ingot from the common copper tag.[3]

The red PokéFinder, as changed by the pack. The other colours follow the same pattern with their own apricorn, for example Pokefinder Item Blue and Pokefinder Item Yellow.
The Gholdengo PokéNav
Pokenav Item Gholdengo is the one recipe here that the pack did not change. It is the mod's own recipe and uses the Cobblemon items Ghost Gem and Relic Coin, together with any item from the PokéNav tag.[3]

This is the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack.
Add-on compatibility
Beyond crafting, the mod's project page says it is compatible with add-ons that use Cobblemon's built-in Pokémon spawn system.[1]
What changed in Cobblemon PokeNav between versions?
1 part
All the Mons 0.6.0-beta ships Cobblemon PokeNav 2.2.5. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mons 0.3.0-beta or earlier, so this is the version you get in this release.[2]
Changes in 2.2.5
The mod's own changelog for 2.2.5 lists these changes:[7]
- Fixes for compatibility with the latest version of Cobblemon.[7]
- Fixed an issue with biome collector registration. It caused missing biome data in tooltips and problems with biome platform selection.[7]
- Old PokéNav has been removed from the loot table of ancient city chests, and the chance of getting an Old PokéNav through fishing has been reduced.[7]
- Fixed rendering of water block as an empty block.[7]
If you noticed blank biome info in tooltips on an older build, the biome collector fix is the one that matters for you. If you were hoping to find an Old PokéNav in ancient city chests, that source is gone, and fishing for one is now less likely to pay off.[7]
