AE2NetworkAnalyzer is a mod in All the Mons 1.3.0, where it is version 1.21-2.1.5-neoforge. Add a tool to analyze your AE network easily. (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is AE2NetworkAnalyzer?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

AE2NetworkAnalyzer adds two diagnostic tools for your Applied Energistics 2 setup. One shows you how your ME network is wired and which parts are offline. The other shows which parts of it are costing you performance. The pack includes version 1.21-2.1.5-neoforge.[1][2][3]

Who it's for

If you've ever stared at a big ME network wondering why something won't work, or why your game stutters, this mod is for you. It doesn't add any new storage or crafting. It helps you troubleshoot what you already have.[2][3]

The two tools

  • ME Network Analyzer (ME Network Analyser): click any block, cable or device connected to the ME network and you see every device's status and how the devices connect. Blue cubes are normal devices that can pass 8 channels, yellow cubes are dense devices that can pass 32, and red cubes are offline devices that don't have enough channels. Links are colored too, and pink links are ME P2P links.[2]
  • ME Tick Profiler (ME Tick Profiler): some AE devices do their work during the game tick. This tool measures the time each one needs, in μs/tick, and shows the numbers in the world. The redder a block is, the laggier it is.[3]

Good to know

The Network Analyser has 5 display modes: Full, Nodes, Links, No Number and P2P. You can change them, and the node and link colors, in the Config GUI. The maximum channel count depends on your ME Channel Mode, and channel numbers aren't shown when Infinity Channel mode is on.[2]

For the Tick Profiler, the game starts to lag when TPS drops below 20, which means the tick rate should always stay under 50,000 μs/tick. Most blocks should stay under 100 μs/tick, otherwise they may cause lag. In the Config GUI you can click the green dots to turn the display of each tick rate range on or off.[3]

Watch out: On a multiplayer server you need OP permission to use the ME Tick Profiler. This is there to prevent abuse.[3]

Unverified The sources don't show where this mod fits in the pack's progression, so its place in the progression is unverified.

How do you get started with AE2NetworkAnalyzer?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Welcome in! The first thing to make with this mod is the ME Network Analyzer. It shows you how your ME network is wired and which devices are offline, so it's worth having before your network gets big and confusing.[2][4]

Step 1: Craft the analyzer

The pack uses a shaped crafting recipe for it, and it uses items from Applied Energistics 2. Here's the exact recipe from the pack:[4]

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped
any copper ingotEmpty slotany copper ingot
any iron ingotLogic Processorany iron ingot
Sky Stone Dustany iron ingotSky Stone Dust

Recipe id: ae2netanalyser:analyser

Step 2: Click your network

Click any block, cable or device that connects to the ME network. You'll see every device's status and how the devices connect to each other.[2]

Step 3: Read the colors

  • Blue cube: a normal ME device with enough channels. It can pass 8 channels.[2]
  • Yellow cube: a dense ME device with enough channels. It can pass 32 channels.[2]
  • Red cube: an offline device that doesn't have enough channels. This is the one to hunt for.[2]
  • Blue link: holds at most 8 channels. Yellow link: holds at most 32 channels.[2]
  • Pink link: an ME P2P link.[2]
  • Numbers: how many channels that link is carrying.[2]
Tip: The maximum channel number depends on your ME Channel Mode. If Infinity Channel mode is on, the analyzer won't show channel numbers.[2]

Step 4: Pick a display mode

Open the Config GUI to change the analysis mode and the node and link colors. There are 5 modes, listed below.[2]

  • Full: displays all network status.[2]
  • Nodes: only node status.[2]
  • Links: only link status.[2]
  • No Number: hides channel numbers.[2]
  • P2P: only ME P2P links.[2]

Later: the tick profiler

If your game gets laggy with a huge network, the mod also has the ME Tick Profiler. It measures how long some AE devices take to do their work each tick (in μs/tick) and shows the numbers in the world. The redder a block is, the laggier it is. Your game lags when TPS drops below 20, which means a tick should always take under 50,000 μs. Most blocks should stay under 100 μs/tick.[3]

Watch out: On a multiplayer server you need OP permission to use the tick profiler.[3]

Unverified The pack's crafting recipe for the tick profiler isn't in the sources I was given, so I can't confirm how to make it here. No quests in this pack involve the mod.

How does AE2NetworkAnalyzer work?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

This mod adds two diagnostic tools for your Applied Energistics 2 network. One shows how your devices connect and carry channels. The other shows which devices take the most time each game tick. Here is how each one works.[2][3]

ME Network Analyzer

Use the ME Network Analyzer when you want to know which device is offline, or just how your network is laid out. Click any block, cable or device that connects to the ME network. You'll see every device's status and how they link to each other.[2]

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped
any copper ingotEmpty slotany copper ingot
any iron ingotLogic Processorany iron ingot
Sky Stone Dustany iron ingotSky Stone Dust

Recipe id: ae2netanalyser:analyser

This is the in-pack crafting recipe for the analyzer.

The display uses colors and shapes to show status:[2]

  • Blue cube: a normal ME device with enough channels. It can pass 8 channels.[2]
  • Yellow cube: a dense ME device with enough channels. It can pass 32 channels.[2]
  • Red cube: an offline ME device, which doesn't have enough channels.[2]
  • Blue link: holds at most 8 channels.[2]
  • Yellow link: holds at most 32 channels.[2]
  • Pink link: an ME P2P link.[2]
  • Numbers: how many channels the link carries.[2]
Watch out: The real maximum channel count depends on your ME Channel Mode. If Infinity Channel mode is on, the analyzer won't show channel numbers.[2]

Display modes and colors

You change the analysis mode and colors in the Config GUI. The analyzer has 5 modes, and you can also change the node and link colors.[2]

  • Full: displays all network status.[2]
  • Nodes: only displays node status.[2]
  • Links: only displays link status.[2]
  • No Number: hides the channel numbers.[2]
  • P2P: only displays ME P2P links.[2]

ME Tick Profiler

A really huge ME network can make your game laggy, and it's hard to find the cause. The ME Tick Profiler helps with that. Some AE devices do their work during the game tick. The profiler measures the time they need, in μs/tick, and shows the numbers in the world so you can see which ones take longest.[3]

Watch out: On a multiplayer server you need OP permission to use the ME Tick Profiler. This is there to prevent abuse.[3]

Color shows how laggy a block is: the redder, the laggier. The number is the block's tick time. Your game becomes laggy when TPS drops below 20, so the game tick time should always stay below 50,000 μs/tick. Most blocks should stay below 100 μs/tick, or they may cause lag.[3]

Tip: In the Config GUI you can control which tick-time ranges are displayed in the world. A green dot means blocks in that range are shown. Click the dot to turn that range on or off.[3]

How do you progress through AE2NetworkAnalyzer?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

This mod does not have a tier ladder of its own to climb. The pack's recipe dump shows one crafting recipe for it, and that recipe makes the ME Network Analyzer. Once you have it, it reads the cable tiers of your AE2 network for you.[2][4]

Getting the ME Network Analyzer

The analyzer is made with a shaped crafting recipe, and the pack dump marks it as the mod's own recipe. Here is exactly what the pack uses:[4]

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped
any copper ingotEmpty slotany copper ingot
any iron ingotLogic Processorany iron ingot
Sky Stone Dustany iron ingotSky Stone Dust

Recipe id: ae2netanalyser:analyser

This is the only recipe for this mod's items in the pack's recipe dump.

The tiers it shows you

Click any block, cable or device on the ME network and the analyzer shows each device's status and how the devices connect. The colors and shapes tell you the tier of what you built.[2]

  • Blue cube: a normal ME device with enough channels, able to pass 8 channels.[2]
  • Yellow cube: a dense ME device with enough channels, able to pass 32 channels.[2]
  • Red cube: an offline ME device that does not have enough channels.[2]
  • Blue link: holds at most 8 channels.[2]
  • Yellow link: holds at most 32 channels.[2]
  • Pink link: an ME P2P link.[2]
  • Numbers on a link: how many channels it carries.[2]
Tip: The real maximum channel count depends on your ME Channel Mode, and the analyzer does not show channel numbers when Infinity Channel mode is on.[2]

Display modes

You can change the analysis mode and the node and link colors in the Config GUI. There are 5 modes:[2]

  • Full: displays all network status.[2]
  • Nodes: displays only node status.[2]
  • Links: displays only link status.[2]
  • No Number: hides channel numbers.[2]
  • P2P: displays only ME P2P links.[2]

The ME Tick Profiler

The mod also has the ME Tick Profiler, with the item id ME Tick Profiler. It measures how long AE devices take to do their work each tick, in μs/tick, and shows the numbers in the world so you can find what is making a huge network laggy. In multiplayer you need OP permission to use it.[3]

The redder a block looks, the laggier it is. Most blocks should stay under 100 μs/tick, or they may cause lag.[3]

How does AE2NetworkAnalyzer work with other mods?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

The ME Network Analyzer is an add-on for Applied Energistics 2, and the in-pack recipe shows it. The recipe dump has one recipe that ties it to other mods: it uses AE2 materials plus ordinary copper and iron ingots from the common ingot tags.[2][4]

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped

any iron ingotLogic Processorany iron ingot
Sky Stone Dustany iron ingotSky Stone Dust

The recipe dump lists this as a mod recipe, with no pack-specific change shown.

How it plugs into AE2

The ME Network Analyzer works directly on your AE2 networks. Click any block, cable or device that connects to the ME network and you see each device's status and how the devices link together. It's handy for finding which device is offline.[2]

The display reads AE2's channel rules. Blue cubes are normal ME devices that can pass 8 channels, and yellow cubes are dense ME devices that can pass 32. Red cubes are offline devices that don't have enough channels. Links are colored the same way, and pink links are ME P2P links.[2]

Tip: The maximum channel number depends on your ME Channel Mode. If Infinity Channel mode is on, the analyzer won't show channel numbers.[2]

The ME Tick Profiler

The ME Tick Profiler is the mod's second tool and also targets AE2 networks. Some AE devices do their work during the game tick, and the profiler measures how long each one takes in μs/tick and shows the numbers in-world. The redder a block is, the laggier it is. Most blocks should stay under 100 μs/tick, otherwise they may cause lag.[3]

Watch out: On a multiplayer server you need OP permission to use the ME Tick Profiler.[3]
