How does TelePastries work?
5 parts
Same as in the Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 guide
The sources for this mod cover its cake blocks, their crafting recipes and the pack's config file. They show no machines, multiblocks, power or fluid handling, so this section sticks to the cakes and what the config and recipes confirm. They also don't explain the teleport behaviour in detail, so that part is left out.[1][2][3]
The cakes
The mod adds an Overworld Cake, a Nether Cake, an End Cake, a Twilight Cake and a Lost City Cake. There is also a Custom Cake, whose name is filled in from the config. The language file also lists custom_cake2 and custom_cake3 blocks, plus a Hunting Dimension Cake block.[1]
The language file also has a "Cake bites" string for the Jade plugin.[1]
Crafting the cakes
The Overworld, Nether and End cakes use the mod's own recipes, shown below. Each starts from a normal cake.[3]

The pack changed the Twilight Cake recipe, so follow this one rather than any mod default you may have seen elsewhere.[3]
The Lost City Cake and the custom cake have recipes that the pack added itself.[3]

Eating and refilling
Each cake has a setting that decides whether it is partly consumed when eaten. In this pack it is on for the Overworld, Nether, End, Twilight and Lost City cakes and for the first custom cake. It is off for the second and third custom cakes, which the pack set to false, although the listed default is true.[2]
Each cake also has its own refill items. The config marks them as "only change if you know what you're doing". In this pack they are:[2]
- Overworld Cake: the vanilla saplings (oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia and dark oak).[2]
- Nether Cake: obsidian.[2]
- End Cake: ender eye.[2]
- Twilight Cake: diamond.[2]
- Lost City Cake: the bed item.[2]
- First custom cake: arrow.[2]
- Second and third custom cakes: cobblestone.[2]
The refill lists are set by Overworld.overworldCakeRefillItems, Nether.netherCakeRefillItems, End.endCakeRefillItems, Compat.TwilightCakeRefillItems, Compat.lostCitiesCakeRefillItem and CustomCake.customCakeRefillItem. The config doesn't spell out how you use a refill item, so the exact interaction is left out here.[2]
Custom cakes
The config has slots for a first, second and third custom cake. The first is set up by the pack as "Hunting Dimension" and is bound to the hunting_dimension_reforged:hunting_dimension dimension, via CustomCake.customCakeDimension. The second and third are named "Another Custom" and "Yet Another Custom" and are bound to the overworld.[2]
Each custom cake also has a height range for where it can spawn you. In this pack the first one uses a minimum Y of 2 and a maximum Y of 254, with an allowed range of 1 to 256. See CustomCake.customCakeMinY and CustomCake.customCakeMaxY. The other custom cakes have matching options, CustomCake2.customCake2MinY, CustomCake2.customCake2MaxY, CustomCake3.customCake3MinY and CustomCake3.customCake3MaxY, which the pack leaves at the same values.[2]
Pack-wide rules
- General.disableHopping is true. Non-overworld cakes can't be placed in dimensions other than the overworld, so you can't go from the Nether straight to the End.[2]
- General.ignoreHunger is true in this pack. Using a pastry doesn't require hunger, whereas the listed default is false.[2]
- General.resetPastry is false, so the pastry teleportation point can't be reset with a milk bucket. The reset item is set to milk bucket, but that only matters if the option is switched on.[2]
- General.explosionImmune is false, so the pastries are not immune to explosions.[2]
Which TelePastries config options matter?
4 parts
Same as in the Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 guide
TelePastries keeps all its settings in one file, config/telepastries-common.toml. The pack changes a few values from the mod defaults, and a couple of them noticeably change how the cakes play.[2]
What the pack changed
- General.ignoreHunger is true in this pack (the mod default is false). Using a pastry does not require you to have hunger, so you can teleport on a full stomach.[2]
- CustomCake.customCakeDimension is set to the Hunting Dimension (hunting_dimension_reforged:hunting_dimension) instead of the default minecraft:overworld. So the first custom cake is bound to that dimension.[2]
- CustomCake.customCakeName is "Hunting Dimension" (the mod default is "Custom"), so that cake is named after the dimension it takes you to.[2]
- CustomCake2.consumeCustomCake2 and CustomCake3.consumeCustomCake3 are both false (the default is true). The second and third custom cakes are not partly consumed when eaten.[2]
Custom cake slots
The file has a first, second and third custom cake. The first is the Hunting Dimension cake, and its refill item is Arrow. The other two keep the overworld as their dimension and are named "Another Custom" and "Yet Another Custom". Both use Cobblestone as their refill item.[2]
For the first custom cake, CustomCake.customCakeMinY is 2 and CustomCake.customCakeMaxY is 254, inside the allowed range of 1 to 256. These limits set the height range where the cake can place you. The second and third custom cakes have their own matching minimum and maximum Y options, set to the same values.[2]
Other general options
- General.disableHopping is true, which matches the mod default. You can't place a non-overworld cake in a dimension that isn't the overworld, so you can't go from the Nether straight to the End.[2]
- General.resetPastry is false, also the default. Resetting a pastry's teleportation point with a milk bucket is off, even though General.resetItems is set to Milk Bucket.[2]
- General.explosionImmune is false, so pastries are not immune to explosions. This is the default.[2]
Refill items
Each cake has its own refill item list, and the file warns you to only change these if you know what you're doing. The Nether Cake uses Obsidian and the End Cake uses Ender Eye. The Overworld Cake accepts the saplings: Oak Sapling, Spruce Sapling, Birch Sapling, Jungle Sapling, Acacia Sapling and Dark Oak Sapling.[2]
The compat cakes are set in the same file. The Twilight Forest Cake refills with Diamond (Compat.TwilightCakeRefillItems), and the Lost Cities Cake refill item (Compat.lostCitiesCakeRefillItem) is minecraft:bed. All of these cakes (Overworld, Nether, End, Twilight Forest and Lost Cities) are partly consumed when eaten, because their consume options are all true.[2]
