What is Just Enough Botania?

2 parts

Just Enough Botania is a small helper addon for Botania recipe viewing. It doesn't add new items or machines. It adds useful information to Botania's recipe tabs in JEI and EMI, so you can see the numbers without digging for them.[1]

What it shows you

  • The Pure Daisy tab displays how many seconds a craft takes.[1]
  • The Mana Pool tab displays how much mana a craft needs.[1]
  • The Runic Altar tab also displays the amount of mana.[1]
  • The Terrestrial Agglomeration tab gets the same kind of extra information.[1]

This is handy when you're planning a mana setup. You can check a recipe's cost right in the recipe viewer instead of guessing how big your pools and generators need to be.[1]

In this pack

The pack ships version 0.2.1, built for Minecraft 1.20.1. It has been in the pack since version 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[2]

On 1.16.5 and newer, the mod only needs Botania and JEI to run, so there is nothing extra to set up.[1]

How do you get started with Just Enough Botania?

2 parts

Just Enough Botania is an information addon. It adds extra details to Botania's recipe pages in JEI and EMI, so the first step is simply knowing where to look.[1]

What it shows you

Open a Botania recipe in your recipe viewer and check these tabs:[1]

  • Pure Daisy: the tab shows how many seconds the recipe takes to complete.[1]
  • Mana Pool: the tab shows how much mana the recipe needs.[1]
  • Runic Altar: the tab also shows the mana amount.[1]
  • Terrestrial Agglomeration: this tab shows its mana amount too.[1]
Tip: Before you build a Mana Pool setup or a Runic Altar, check the recipe tab for its mana cost. You can then plan how much mana you need instead of finding out halfway through.[1]

Requirements

The project page lists the requirements by Minecraft version. On 1.16.5 or newer, the addon needs only Botania and JEI. On 1.12.2 it also needs MixinBooter.[1]

How does Just Enough Botania work?

2 parts

Just Enough Botania is a small information addon for Botania. Its project page describes it as adding useful information to the recipe viewer, and it doesn't describe any machines, multiblocks or new ways to handle power, fluids or items. What it does is show extra numbers on certain Botania recipe tabs, so you can see the cost of a recipe before you build anything.[1]

What the addon shows you

These Botania recipe tabs get extra information. You'll see it when you look up a recipe in JEI, and the project page says the addon covers EMI too.[1]

  • Pure Daisy tab: shows how many seconds the recipe takes to craft.[1]
  • Mana Pool tab: shows how much mana the recipe needs.[1]
  • Runic Altar tab: also shows the amount of mana.[1]
  • Terrestrial Agglomeration tab: shows the amount of mana as well.[1]
Tip: Check the recipe tab before you set up a Botania build. The mana amount or crafting time is shown right there in the recipe viewer.[1]

Requirements

For 1.16.5 or above, the addon simply requires Botania and JEI. The 1.12.2 version also requires MixinBooter. The mod uses the MIT License.[1]

Which Just Enough Botania config options matter?

Just Enough Botania has very little to configure in this pack. The only option in its client config file is colorizing.jeiTextColor, and the pack sets it to 0. The file lists the allowed range as greater than 0.[3]

The setting lives in the client config, so it only affects your own game and not the server.[3]

Unverified What a value of 0 does in practice, and whether it differs from the mod default, can't be confirmed from the available sources, so don't assume the pack changed it. If you want to experiment, edit the option in the botaniajei-client.toml file.

What changed in Just Enough Botania between versions?

1 part

Just Enough Botania is a small mod, so its history is short. Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 ships version 0.2.1, and the mod has been in the pack since 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[2]

Changes in the mod's own releases

  • Version 0.2: added a text color config and an icon.[4]
  • Version 0.2.1: added EMI mod support. This is the version your pack uses.[2][4]

"From pack files" means the list came from the pack's own files; "from the published release" means ForgeBase read the jars of the release itself.

Items and blocks

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as botaniajei, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
