What is Forgiving Void?
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Forgiving Void is part of the pack's mod list. The pack ships version 21.1.7, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1.[1]
That's all I can confirm from the pack files. There's no in-jar guidebook and no platform page I could pull a description from, so I won't guess at its exact behavior, its settings or who benefits most from it.[1]
Unverified What Forgiving Void does in this pack, its config options and its place in the progression are unconfirmed. It also isn't confirmed to appear on the ATM Star path or in any quest, and no sources show a recipe or item for it.
How do you get started with Forgiving Void?
3 parts
Forgiving Void saves you when you fall out of the world. Once you drop far enough below the bottom, it sends you back up towards the sky so you fall down again instead of just disappearing into the void. In this pack, all of its behaviour is controlled by one file, config/forgivingvoid-common.toml.[2][3]
Unverified The sources here show no crafting recipes and no quests for this mod, so there is no confirmed item to craft or quest to follow. What you can learn first is how the void rescue behaves, which is set in the mod's config file.
What happens when you fall
- You fall below the world's minimum y level. The rescue kicks in once you are triggerAtDistanceBelow blocks below it, which this pack sets to 32.[2][3]
- You are sent towards the sky. You start falling from the height set by fallingHeight, which is 300 in this pack.[2][3]
- You land and take the damage set by damageOnFall, which is 19 in this pack.[2][3]
Where it works
The rescue is active in the Overworld, the Nether and the End: triggerInOverworld, triggerInNether and triggerInEnd are all true. Those toggles take priority over the dimension lists.[2][3]
dimensionAllowList and dimensionDenyList are both empty in this pack. The deny list is ignored if the allow list is set.[2][3]
Server note
How does Forgiving Void work?
3 parts
Forgiving Void works as a rescue system, and the sources describe it entirely through its common config. When you fall far enough below the bottom of the world, the mod forgives you and sends you towards the sky instead of leaving you in the void.[2]
When the rescue triggers
triggerAtDistanceBelow sets how far below the minimum y level you have to be before the mod steps in. This pack sets it to 32.[2][3]
Each vanilla dimension has its own switch, and this pack leaves every one of them on:[2][3]
- triggerInOverworld covers the overworld void (dimension 0) and is true.[2][3]
- triggerInNether covers the nether void (dimension -1) and is true.[2][3]
- triggerInEnd covers the end void (dimension 1) and is true.[2][3]
For other dimensions there is an allow list, dimensionAllowList, and a deny list, dimensionDenyList. Both are empty in this pack. The dimension switches above take priority over the lists, and the deny list is ignored if the allow list is set.[2][3]
The fall and the landing
After you drop through the void, you start falling again from the height set by fallingHeight. This pack uses 300.[2][3]
When you land, damageOnFall is applied to you. The pack sets it to 19.[2][3]
preventDeath is false in this pack. When it is on, it limits the damage so you keep at least 0.5 hearts.[2][3]
Anti-cheat and rubber-banding
disableVanillaAntiCheatWhileFalling is meant for players who rubber-band while falling through the void. This pack has it set to true. On a public server, the mod's own description says to only enable it if you have proper anti-cheat installed.[2][3]
Which Forgiving Void config options matter?
3 parts
Everything for Forgiving Void lives in one file, config/forgivingvoid-common.toml. Here is how this pack sets the options you are most likely to care about.[3]
When and where it triggers
- triggerAtDistanceBelow is 32. It is the distance below the minimum y level at which the mod forgives you and sends you towards the sky.[3]
- triggerInOverworld, triggerInNether and triggerInEnd are all true, so the void is forgiving in the Overworld, the Nether and the End.[3]
- dimensionAllowList and dimensionDenyList are both empty in this pack. The per-dimension trigger options above take priority over both lists, and the deny list is ignored if the allow list is set.[3]
The fall and the landing
- fallingHeight is 300. That is the height you fall from after dropping through the void.[3]
- damageOnFall is 19. That is the damage you take when you land.[3]
- preventDeath is false. When it is true, the mod limits the damage so you keep at least 0.5 hearts. In this pack that safety net is off.[3]
Rubber-banding and servers
disableVanillaAntiCheatWhileFalling is true in this pack. The file says to enable it if players rubber-band while falling through the void. It also warns that on a public server you should only do this if you have proper anti-cheat installed.[3]
Unverified The sources do not show the mod's own default values, so it is unconfirmed which of these settings the pack changed.

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as forgivingvoid, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
