What is Construction Wand?
3 parts
Construction Wand is a building helper. With a wand you can place up to 1024 blocks at once, extending your build on the side you're facing. Upgrade cores let you place a block behind the one you're facing, conjure blocks in mid air, or destroy lots of blocks very fast. This pack ships version 1.20.1-2.11 of the mod.[1][2]
Wands and cores
There are stone, iron and diamond wands, plus the Infinity wand. Higher tiers are more powerful and last longer. Every wand comes with a Construction core, and you can install extra cores by putting them together with the wand in a crafting grid. The Angel core places a block on the opposite side of what you're facing, or in mid air. The Destruction core removes blocks on the side facing you. Stone wands can't be upgraded.[1]
- Stone: 131 durability, 9 max blocks, no upgrades.[1]
- Iron: 250 durability, 27 max blocks, angel distance 1, 9 max blocks when destroying.[1]
- Diamond: 1561 durability, 128 max blocks, angel distance 4, 25 max blocks when destroying.[1]
- Infinity: unbreakable, 1024 max blocks, angel distance 8, 81 max blocks when destroying.[1]
Controls
Hold the wand option key (CTRL by default, changeable in the client config) to switch cores or undo a placement. Hold Sneak and that key while right clicking empty space to open the wand's option screen. Holding Sneak and the option key while looking at a block shows your last placed blocks with a green border, and right clicking one undoes the operation and gives the items back.[1]
In the quest book
The pack's quest book covers the mod in the chapter "Useful mods and Items", chapter 3 of 44, which has 37 quests. The quest "Construction Wand" quest asks you to obtain the Stone Wand. The same chapter also holds other building quests such as "Building Gadget" quest and "Angel Block" quest.[3]
How do you get started with Construction Wand?
6 parts
Construction Wand lets you place lots of blocks at once, extending the side of a build you are facing. You grow it by crafting better wands and bolting cores onto them. Here is the order I would make things in.[1][4]
The quest book points you at this mod too. The quest "Construction Wand" quest sits in the chapter "Useful mods and Items" and asks you to get the Stone Wand.[3]
Step 1: the Stone Wand
Start here. In this pack it places up to 9 blocks at a time (stone_wand.limit) and has 256 durability (stone_wand.durability). It cannot take cores, because stone_wand.upgradeable is false.[5]

Step 2: the Iron Wand
The Iron Wand is the first one you can upgrade. It places up to 27 blocks and has 1,024 durability in this pack. Its angel distance is 2 and its destruction limit is 9. The durability and angel distance differ from the table on the mod's project page, so trust this page for the pack.[1][4][5]

Step 3: the Diamond Wand
Next comes the Diamond Wand. Here the pack gives you 128 blocks per use, 4,096 durability, an angel distance of 8 and a destruction limit of 25.[4][5]

Step 4: cores
Every wand has the basic Construction core. Extra cores change what it does. To install one, put it together with your wand in a crafting grid. To switch cores, hold the wand option key and left click empty space, or use the option screen. The option key is CTRL by default and can be changed in the client config.[1][4]
The Angel Wand Core places a block on the opposite side of the block you are facing. It can also place in midair, if you hold the block in your offhand.[4]

The Destruction Wand Core destroys blocks on the side facing you, though not blocks with tile entities. Destroyed blocks vanish into the void, so use undo if you slip. The pack changed this core's recipe, so check the one below and not what you remember from other packs.[4][6]

The pack changed this recipe from the mod's own.
Step 5: the Infinity Wand
The Infinity Wand is the top tier. It places up to 1,024 blocks, with an angel distance of 16 and a destruction limit of 81 in this pack.[1][5]

Handy habits from the start
- Blocks in your offhand are placed instead of the block you are looking at.[4]
- Shulker boxes, bundles and many containers from other mods can supply the blocks for the wand.[4]
- Hold the option key and scroll to change the placement restriction: Horizontal, Vertical, North/South, East/West or No lock.[1][4]
- Sneak plus the option key and a right click on empty space opens the wand's option screen.[1]
How does Construction Wand work?
8 parts
The Construction Wand is a building tool, not a machine, so there is no power, fluid or multiblock side to it. What you get is a wand that extends the side of a build you are facing and places many blocks in one click. You can upgrade it with extra cores that change what it does. Here is how it all works in this pack.[1][4]
Wand tiers in this pack
There are four wands: the Stone Wand, Iron Wand, Diamond Wand and Infinity Wand. Higher tiers place more blocks and reach further. The pack's server config sets these values:[1][4][5]
- Stone Wand: places up to 9 blocks, durability 256. It can't be upgraded, and its angel and destruction values are 0.[1][5]
- Iron Wand: places up to 27 blocks, durability 1,024. Angel distance is 2 and destruction limit is 9. It can be upgraded.[5]
- Diamond Wand: places up to 128 blocks, durability 4,096. Angel distance is 8 and destruction limit is 25. It can be upgraded.[5]
- Infinity Wand: places up to 1,024 blocks, with angel distance 16 and destruction limit 81. It can be upgraded. The pack config has no durability entry for it, and the project page lists it as unbreakable.[1][5]
If you want to check or compare, the limits live in the iron_wand.limit style entries, one set per wand. In creative mode the Infinity Wand uses its own block limit of 2,048, set in misc.InfinityWandCreative.[5]
One more limit applies to every wand: misc.MaxRange is 100 here. The config describes it as a lag-prevention cap, not a balance setting.[5]
Wand cores
Every wand comes with the standard construction core, which extends your build on the side facing you. To install another core, put it together with your wand in a crafting grid. To switch cores, hold the wand option key and left click empty space with the wand, or use the option screen. The option key is CTRL by default and can be changed in the client config.[1][4]
Upgrading is controlled per wand by an upgradeable setting. stone_wand.upgradeable is false, so the Stone Wand can't be upgraded with a core. The other wands have it set to true, for example diamond_wand.upgradeable.[5]
Angel core
The Angel Wand Core places a block on the opposite side of the block (or row of blocks) you are facing. The maximum distance depends on the wand tier. You can also right click empty space to place a block in midair, as long as the block you want to place is in your offhand.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | any glass panes | any gold ingot |
| any glass panes | any feather | any glass panes |
| any gold ingot | any glass panes | Empty slot |
Recipe id: constructionwand:core_angel
The project page says you can't place midair blocks once you have fallen more than 10 blocks deep, so it is not an easy rescue from the void. The pack leaves misc.AngelFalling at false, so the extra feature of placing blocks below you while falling more than 10 blocks is off.[1][5]
Destruction core
The Destruction Wand Core destroys blocks on the side facing you, up to the wand's destruction limit. It does not destroy blocks with tile entities. Destroyed blocks vanish into the void, so use the undo feature if you slip.[1][4][5]
This recipe was changed by the pack, so don't rely on the mod's default version of it:[6]

Placement options
Hold the option key and scroll to change the placement restriction: Horizontal, Vertical, North/South, East/West or No lock. The locked modes build a single row or column, while No lock extends from any side of the original block. The restriction has no effect with the angel core. Open the full option screen with Sneak+option key+Right click on empty space.[1][4]
- Direction: placed blocks either face the player or take the same direction as the target block.[1][4]
- Replacement: when on, the wand replaces fluids, snow and tallgrass.[1][4]
- Matching: Exact only extends blocks that are exactly the same. Similar treats related blocks (dirt and grass types) equally. Any extends whatever block is on the face you look at.[1][4]
- Random: when on, the wand places random blocks from your hotbar.[1][4]
What counts as similar is set by misc.SimilarBlocks. In this pack it covers dirt, grass block, coarse dirt, podzol, mycelium, farmland, dirt path and rooted dirt.[5]
Undo
Hold Sneak+option key while looking at a block to see your last placed blocks outlined in green. Sneak+option key+Right click on any of them undoes the operation and gives the items back. After a destruction core operation, undo restores the blocks. The pack keeps the last 3 operations, set by misc.UndoHistory.[1][4][5]
Where the blocks come from
Shulker boxes, bundles and many containers from other mods can supply building blocks to the wand. Blocks in your offhand take priority: the wand places those instead of the block you are looking at.[1][4]
Tile entity restrictions
Some modded tile entities can turn into ghost or unbreakable blocks when placed by a wand, so the mod has a list for them. In this pack tileentity.TEList contains only chiselsandbits, and tileentity.TEWhitelist is false. That makes it a blacklist, so Chisels & Bits blocks can't be placed by the wand.[1][5]
How do you progress through Construction Wand?
6 parts
The pack's quest book has one Construction Wand quest, "Construction Wand" quest, in the "Useful mods and Items" chapter. It asks you to get the Stone Wand. No other quest in that chapter asks for the higher wands or the cores.[3]
The wand tiers
The wands come in Stone, Iron, Diamond and Infinity tiers. In this pack they all use the mod's normal recipes, and each has its own crafting recipe. Here they are in order.[6]
Stone Wand
The Stone Wand is the first tier and the one the quest asks for.[3][6]

How does Construction Wand work with other mods?
2 parts
Construction Wand has only one confirmed link to other content in this pack: a recipe the pack changed. The recipe dump for this mod lists no other recipes that mix its items with another mod's.[6]
A pack-changed Destruction Core
The Destruction Wand Core is the core that lets a wand destroy lots of blocks very fast. In this pack its crafting recipe is changed, and it uses an item that comes from outside the mod. Check the recipe below rather than relying on what you remember from the mod's normal setup.[1][6]

Where the quest book puts it
The quest book has a "Construction Wand" quest quest in the chapter "Useful mods and Items", chapter 3 of 44. The quest asks you to get the Stone Wand.[3]
That chapter holds 37 quests, and one of them is "Building Gadget" quest, which asks for the Building Gadgets items.[3]
Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use Construction Wand?
Construction Wand shows up in one chapter of the pack's quest book: "Useful mods and Items", which is chapter 3 of 44 and holds 37 quests.[3]
The quest is "Construction Wand" quest. It has a single task: you hand in the Stone Wand. The book gives it no description text, so the quest itself doesn't tell you anything more about the wand.[3]
Since it is the only quest for this mod, there is no quest order to follow for Construction Wand. The chapter is a collection of mod quests, and the other building-related one you'll see in it is "Building Gadget" quest, which asks for four gadgets: building, exchanging, copy paste and destruction.[3]
The sources I have don't show where this quest sits relative to the others in the chapter, so I can't tell you what comes right before or after it.[3]
Which Construction Wand config options matter?
5 parts
Most of what you'll want to tweak for Construction Wand lives in the server config, and this pack changed a few wand values from what the mod's project page lists. Durability and angel core distance are the two that differ. Block limits, destruction limits and upgrade rules match the page.[1][5]
Wand durability (changed by the pack)
- Stone wand: stone_wand.durability is 256 here, while the project page lists 131.[1][5]
- Iron wand: iron_wand.durability is 1,024 here, up from the 250 on the project page.[1][5]
- Diamond wand: diamond_wand.durability is 4,096 here, up from 1,561 on the project page.[1][5]
- The Infinity wand has no durability option in the pack's file. The project page lists it as unbreakable.[1][5]
Angel core distance (changed by the pack)
The angel core lets you place blocks in mid air, and the pack doubles the distance the project page lists for each upgradeable wand. iron_wand.angel is 2 (page: 1), diamond_wand.angel is 8 (page: 4) and infinity_wand.angel is 16 (page: 8). The stone wand's stone_wand.angel is 0, which disables the angel core.[1][5]
Block limits, destruction and upgrades
- Block limits per use are 9 for stone, 27 for iron, 128 for diamond and 1,024 for Infinity. These are set by stone_wand.limit, iron_wand.limit, diamond_wand.limit and infinity_wand.limit, and they match the project page.[1][5]
- Destruction core limits are 9 for iron, 25 for diamond and 81 for Infinity, matching the project page. Stone is 0, so it has no destruction core. See iron_wand.destruction, diamond_wand.destruction, infinity_wand.destruction and stone_wand.destruction.[1][5]
- stone_wand.upgradeable is false, so the stone wand can't take cores. Iron, diamond and Infinity have upgradeable set to true.[5]
- misc.InfinityWandCreative gives the Infinity wand a limit of 2,048 blocks in creative mode.[5]
Misc server options
- misc.UndoHistory is 3, so you can undo the last 3 operations.[5]
- misc.AngelFalling is false, so the angel core won't place blocks under you while you fall.[5]
- misc.SimilarBlocks makes Similar mode treat dirt, grass block, coarse dirt, podzol, mycelium, farmland, dirt path and rooted dirt as the same block.[5]
- tileentity.TEList contains chiselsandbits, and tileentity.TEWhitelist is false. So the list works as a blacklist and wands can't place those blocks.[5]
Client keybinds
In the client config, keys.OptKey is 341, which the file describes as the default Left Control. You hold this key to change cores and options or undo. keys.ShiftOpt is false, so changing wand mode or direction lock doesn't need the extra key. keys.ShiftOptGUI is true, so opening the wand GUI takes sneak plus the option key instead of sneak alone.[1][7]
What changed in Construction Wand between versions?
1 part
Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 includes Construction Wand 1.20.1-2.11. The pack's mod list says it was first included in Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[2]
